Thats what I'm kind of feeling. I have no problems flying a plane IRL or in Sim the challenge for me is to fight with a plane either air to air or air to ground, I have great fun trying to perform but there is always lots of room for improvement in those areas. I guess I'll go with the Spit, I think the Yak is going to be great fun for online aerobatics but that is about it. Thanks for the input:)

Should I get the Spitfire or the Yak 52, I have the ME 109, P51, and the FW 190

I saw this mentioned on the forums and have been having the stutter and or pause problem with DCS so I gave it a try. I got the free version did the regular install clicking yes, ok as needed, changing nothing. How it works I am not sure other than it seems to balance the load across all cpu's. It works great for me, I noow have no pauses at all and my sound never drops out for 1 sec like use to happen. I just want to let you guys know it is worth a try. The one thing I would be carefull about is , it looks like it takes cpus to 100% ready state, I have liquid cooling and a overclock to 4.2ghz from 3.4 and have no heat problems. I do not know if it would affect a fan cooled cpu differently. Fly On...:pilotfly: https://bitsum.com/

If I leave my trackir for 5 min without moving, DCS gets rid of all the trackir commands in the axis settings in fact it removes the trackir column from axis. Windows still has trackir running and working perfectly. I restart dcs or dcs beta (they both do it) and trackir is picked up again (the trackir column is put back in ) and trackir works fine.

Don't know if this is already been posted but it's fun to watch and brought back a lot of memories for me when I worked the fly 2 and fly 3 on CV67

Something called the CTLD menu works great for helicopters, loading troops, and slinging equipment. Since you are adding the MI-8 can you also add the KA-50 and the Viggen. If I knew anything about this stuff I would help but it is way over my head. This type of mission is what makes DCS a must have. Thanks
-
I have them both, just picked up the Viggen, they have about as much in common as a 1902 steam car and a Tesla Model S. Both planes fly and everything after that is different. Both are a ton of fun and scratch the itch in different ways...I still love the helicopters best though!

This is so good it convinced me to buy the Viggen while it is on sale! Thanks

SR-71 Recon plane, something the SAM's can't catch. LoL

throttle curves for proper full power(TM warthog grips)
tusler replied to Beazle's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Thermal, Thanks for the reminder, AB is fully engaging according to the control overlay, I just expected it to have more immediate umph when engaged, I notice when trying to fight if this jet gets slow due to pulling to hard, LoL, it is very difficult to get the speed back before I am shot down. So I have to remember don't get low and slow or I am dunfor. Thanks -
throttle curves for proper full power(TM warthog grips)
tusler replied to Beazle's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I have set throttles to slider and set curves to 12 on the warthog but the plane clean only goes 610 knots at 3000ft, I wonder how the beta testers did not have problems with this. -
Hi, I think you might be talking about this reported bug, watch this video starting at about 5:20 and see what the real pilot says. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynUj60zicDw

I would do a search for that string in the registry and see where it is coming from. Might want to install malwarebytes and do a scan then just uninstall it after you clean up.

Trying to taxi on CVN-74 is like taxing through mud
tusler replied to Vorden's topic in General Bugs
I can say from experience as a acft director on the JFK CV67 we use to drag tomcats all over the deck sideways while taxing them and it was worse when towing them in a strong wind, so this is not too far from realistic experience. The deck would get a little oil and fuel on it and even with non-skid coating it was like ice to planes. -
SCU, I think that you are being affected by what the pilot was talking about, when he was saying the plane is currently loosing speed to fast and falling like a rock in full land config, we will have to compensate while the dev's perfect the flight model on the slow end.

Your Video is Great, I will pay attention to your videos as you release them and maybe skip learning all the "bad habits".

Why is it So hard to land the MI 8
tusler replied to tusler's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Thanks for the Suggestions, I was on The Inferno server last night and what a blast, I did mange to land the MI 8 a few times and unload the troops in confined spaces down town and there was a few times I came down a bit hard, I'm just going to keep practicing, one area you guys hit on the nose, I'm impatient to get on the ground and when I am slowing down, I tend to start to close to the zone and too late which causes a elevator effect in altitude, it's just going to take practice and developing good habits. -
Why is it So hard to land the MI 8
tusler replied to tusler's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Yes I agree with all the advice, I will have to put in a dedicated practice effort to master the transition to hover and landing I guess. I know one thing is with my warthog throttle it is difficult to move the collective in small increments, I watch the utube videos and see folks keeping the vsi at the 3 m/s all the way down, my control will not let me do that in its current configuration. I make a tiny movement and it translates to a to large movement in game. Thanks for the response, I'll get it eventually. -
I love flying all the helo's including the MI 8 , I have very little difficulty landing the KA 50, the Huey or the Gazelle but when it comes to the 8 I windup chasing the VSI and it gets into VRS so easy and drops like a rock, if I try to come in and hover then land, a rolling landing is easy, but there are times when thats not possible. I am using a warthog hotas, is there special curves or a secret incantation or maybe I need one stiff drink, whats the secret? Thanks I hate sucking at landing :crash:

I also notice that when on a fast approach if I put the nose high and I drop the collective a little to much the rotor rpm will overspeed and generator 2 will drop off line but when the rotor speed returns to normal it autoresets and comes back on line.
