  1. Yes, I’ve flown with Jar and the Stingers, however I like to tinker and understand things myself as well. Thanks for the links anyhow.
  2. Tried commenting them out and removing them, no change to the LSO view. Do you happen to know if there is a lua file that structures the way a camera works?
  3. Has anyone figured out how to get the camera on the Alt-F9 view to be clearer and not in black and white? It seems to be an effect added to imitate the poor resolution of the PLAT cam. I adjusted the eye position in the USS CVN74 John C.Stennis.lua file to place my eye position at the LSO platform, and I'd like to make the view from there better than it is. If anyone is curious, the eye position for the LSO platform is (-127.5, 21.0, -19.5, -171.0, 4.0) - Original (-14.0, 19.7, -16.0, -171.0, 4.0). This ONLY appears to work in VR. Standing back there in VR is pretty amazing!
  4. After flying it in VR.....I’d say it really should require VR
  5. I discovered that while flying a night CV landing that the TACAN pointer was way off where the Stennis actually was. I replicated this in daytime and have attached a screen shot and a trk file. As you can see from the picture, I'm 1.0 NM to the Stennis which is almost directly infront of me but the TACAN signal is 45 degrees to my right. This also affects the course line as I should be directly over the course line but I'm showing significantly off of it. While this isn't an issue for Case I ops, night or Case II/III ops will be negatively affected by this inaccuracy. If I've missed something, please accept my apologies :) Tony CVN landing TACAN.trk
  6. I just did a night carrier landing and it was light up pretty much just like this. I will say, having the ICLS needles would make for a much easier landing. Can you reference a white strong light in night ops in real life? I would think the last thing they'd want on deck at night is a bright white light. I haven't seen the press video, but I wonder if it was done for better visuals and not necessarily realism.
  7. I know.....that’s why I referenced the actual Coupled steering mode for other than just headings you asked about in your first post.....
  8. There is a coupled (CPL) mode available on the Hornet, this might be a missing EA feature. Reference NATOPS page 134/135
  9. The NATOPs manual indicates there should be a readout at the bottom of the HSI of perpendicular distance to a course line. Is this missing due to EA? Page 168
  10. It’s a shame you can’t save the static object as part of a template. That would make generating missions in different maps a cinch.
  11. Is the ship moving with the static objects or is it stationary?
  12. From the NATOPs manual.
  13. Did you turn off the parking brake? I just did a cold start and taxi to the cat on the Stennis 20 mins ago.
  14. I’ve already flown multi hour hops in the Hornet....but like others have said, start slow. Any aircraft could make you sick, especially helicopters. Do 10-15 minute flights, shallow turns, take off and landing. Don’t force it, or try to make big jumps in time or maneuvers. Build up the time, you inner ear will get used to the disconnect from your brain. Before you know it you’ll be pulling hard G’s in any aircraft. Before you know it, you’ll wonder how you ever played a flight sim with a monitor.
  15. Get high and stay south, attack from the south side, turning back to the south after run in. 2 GBU's first, then JDAM's, the Mavs on the last bunkers. If you really want to have fun, try taking out the SAM site north of the river first :)
  16. If this was a social experiment, the psychiatrists would be having a field day.....
  17. What do you think causes waves in real life?
  18. Seeing as the Hornet is about to be released on Beta, it would be an empty server this week waiting for someone not interested in flying the Hornet to show up.
  19. https://web.kitsapsun.com/archive/1996/12-06/356225_carrier_pilot_ok_after_crash.html
  20. Already in progress :) https://forums.mudspike.com/t/chucks-first-impressions-of-the-dcs-f-a-18c-hornet/6151
  21. You can see some winds (white caps) in my shot :)
  22. The Canadian's have arrived :)
  23. Since the last update the anticollision light in the Harrier is crazy bright. Shines through solid metal and lights up the cockpit in the daytime.
  24. That can dealt with through credits if ED wants this to move forward. Easy enough to determine who has purchased multiple licenses.
  25. With the release of a new (awesome) map, can ED comment any further about providing the possibility for server hosting to be able to be done on a separate computer without an additional license needing to be purchased? This would greatly help with getting more servers online for the new maps, and servers that are likely going to be up for longer periods of time. Tony
