The F-14B showed what is possible: extensive Pilot and Rio Body movement synchronization in multiplayer. It's such an gamechanger immersive wise to look over your shoulder and just give a head salut to your wingman. Or be it the subtle movement of your RIO when you turn around, ask him something and the head moves accordingly to his answer. Not to mention, that this is even more incredible in VR. All other Aircraft pilots seem to be just like dead animated puppets now when watched online.

Thanks for this info! This is really a great and cheap option for the cockpit to look better.

Ich meld' mich auch an. Mache gerne Lead beim Sweep in Box 2. @caponi, wir können gerne einen Flight machen. Grüße Skyfire

Ok, I was able to track down my problem with the Updater GUI not being able to start DCS again. It rightfully shows a DCS process still running, but it cannot kill it. Sooo in fact, Windows Taskmanager cannot see it either. Only ProcessExplorer (see attached image). I cannot kill it either with the ProcessExplorer. It's just some dead process. Unfortunately, this makes it impossible to restart DCS from your UI, as you recently blocked this, as long as a DCS process is available. Alas, I can restart it by hand via the DCS_updater.exe, so it should be possible. Can you remove the start-lock in the UI, when a DCS process is still running? DCS will catch it itself, if it is noch working at all...

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
PhilSkyfire replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
OK - Got it working. I deleted the wrong shader caches. So it kept some concurrent shades, which lead to the black trees. kojdog made a mini mod, which works also very good. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303288/ Thanks for the help! -
VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
PhilSkyfire replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hmmm...thanks for the description. Alas it didn't work for me. I have a script which properly removes everything, but no luck with your way of doing it. I tried some stuff myself now. The file that causes problems for me is the Decoder.hlsl. When removed, the trees are green. Alas some textures have wierd colors now. Anyone some ideas? Or is it just working on your sides? -
VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
PhilSkyfire replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
For me it works. Performance increase is visible. Cleaned up all metashader etc. Alas, the trees and their shadows on Caucasus are black now. This is my biggest problem :-/ -
I can copy this. It's perfectly visible in table views, when the IPD is adjusted via the scroll wheel at the nose. The WMR overlay is on different hights in the left and right eye. The is quite straining for the eyes after a while.

Hi! Thanks for the tool. The GUI is getting a little bit crowded in the last few iterations, besides from that, I enjoy it!!! Two small issues - - I'm playing in VR. After "Quit to Desktop" in DCS the Updater Tool cannot restart DCS, alas no running process is shown. I have to switch the Build between my Release and OpenBeta build and back, the again I can start DCS. - After restart of Windows and starting the Updater Tool, I have to manually select a build. It does not store the last selected build. Thanks!

For me (Windows 10) it's found in %LocalAppData%\Skate_Zilla_Graphics_Stud. Go further down into the directory structure and either delete the user.config, which removes all your settings. Alternatively, quit DCS Update from the minimized icon list. Then edit the user.config. It contains a string <setting name="MainFormLocation" serializeAs="String"> <value>-32000, -32000</value> </setting> Set those -32000 values to 0 <setting name="MainFormLocation" serializeAs="String"> <value>0, 0</value> </setting> Restart DCS Updater - it should be visible again!

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
PhilSkyfire replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
In general it works and I can see improvements in frame rate - thanks :-) Do you guys see a visual difference in and outside the MSAA Radius Mask? Visual Mask Radius works for me, I had to adjust it to work with my Oculus. I would expect with MSAA to have a rough un-MSAA'd part on the outside, and a smoother part with less jaggies on the inside. Is this what to expect, or does it look differently? SSAA is off, NVIDIA Settings in default - tested MSAA with off, 2x and 4x. ... -
[NO BUG] FW-190 D9 Seat position and VR
PhilSkyfire replied to Headwarp's topic in Bugs and Problems
The image in the post shows the solution. You can select a default view for the cockpit. I don't know what's it in english, but I had the same problem as the thread starter described and changing the initial position fixed it for me! -
Viel Erfolg ;-) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=174465 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=154000

It would help, if the mountains wouldn't be that round, instead they should have some sharp edges or more drops. Everything is too smooth in any map.
-
The guys downloading will be stuck with their head in the map instead of this thread :-D... I'm having the same problem here with the greyed out PG icon.

And 1001ppi is already outdated :-D https://www.roadtovr.com/int-announces-2228ppi-high-pixel-density-amoled-display-vr-headsets/ It's really getting interesting on the display front...

I was able to test the Vive pro in our company with DCS. I think it's really an improvement in visual clarity, be it the gauges or everything on the outside, which is not immediately screen door effected. The radar dishes, trees, powerlines, everything. The Samsung Odyssey should be simmilar to the Vive Pro, but I wasn't able to check this.

Yeeeees. It's going foward! I'm still am anxious, that the whole VR thing is going the path of the 3D-TV, when the industry doesn't get enough invest returned. Juuuust a little clearer image would be all I need. So, say 8k with 150 to max 200 degrees and I'm happy. This focal point adjustment is a really cool thing, but a rift 2 with some better resolution would do it for me.

It's simply an optimization to make things faster. If it's not visible in the gunners normal position, I wouldn't care. In the MI-8 you get something similar, as pilot stand up and have a look from the outside on your helo. The skin on the outside is missing. I guess, with a little more clipping logic, it would be possible to implement it, so you can have the complete helo available. As this means additional implementation work, I would prefer other bugs fixed first.

I had this once after rearm on the base. I flew a bit around. Landed, remarmed with bombs, then I had this problem. Depression wasn't moving in any direction and I was unable to release a bomb. No jettison or whatsoever still active.

https://goo.gl/maps/jKeEcHKGs672 It is even still connected to the emergency arresting cable.

And I thought, the pinky button is faulty, but it seems, this is some other issue. Pledging for a fix here, too,

If you have strange head movement when turning the head around, you can use 2 sensors (one at each side of your desk/monitor) to improve mapping. It helped on my side. You don't need to do calibration extensively for this. They are calibrated automatically on each start.

I get this problem every now and then after coming out of PC hibernation. Performing either a clean PC reboot or the restart of the Oculus software helps. Sometimes I forget to give power to the external USB port where the sensors are connected. The Oculus has some internal gyroscope tracking which does the rotation, so it works without the sensors except for the position. Sensors mainly do the positioning.
