  1. I seem to recall seeing mounting bases for joysticks or throttles that would clamp to the arm of an office chair but searches of Google and E-Bay have not produced anything similar. Anyone know of such a beast?
  2. Wow that's a pit builders wet dream!
  3. I am getting great frame rates in 2.2 in VR, I think I will wait until the bugs are ironed out of 2.5.
  4. Mine always says that, but it eventually loads. IIRC it took a long time the very first time. It still says that every time. Did you check "Enable VR Headset" in DCS Settings? You need to either do that, or load it with Skatezillas DCS tool.
  5. I just purchased a set of DJI Goggles. These are used for flying DJI drones and getting a first person view through the camera. This is much much clearer than using a phone or tablet. These things are amazing. They have a resolution of 1920x1080 per eye, and are crystal clear. No SDE. They are completely wireless with a battery built in and no cords hanging from your head. Unfortunately they do not (for now at least) work as VR goggles but I sure hope someone comes out with something like them for VR. Its at least a glimpse of what is possible.
  6. Wow. I cannot bring myself to fly without VR anymore. Its just not the same. Despite the limitations of VR, it is so much better. Just being able to look around is huge. I hated the way the Track IR worked and could never get used to turning my head while keeping my eyes on the screen. And the depth perception and the way cockpits pop to life....just 1000% better!
  7. No, its "multiples". So if you have quantity set to 1, and multiples to 2, you will drop 2 bombs each time. Just like on the A-10. So if you have quantity set to 4, and multiples to 2, you will drop a total of 8 bombs in 4 sets of 2.
  8. The 2.5 install will make use of the 2.2 files, updating them and adding the Caucasus map. So you may well be fine if you have room for the new map.
  9. I have read the entire thread, and I am still a little confused. If I have ONLY 2.2.0 Open Alpha installed, and DO NOT want to install any version of 1.5, I just need to wait for the 2.5 Release version, and I can update directly from 2.2.0 to 2.5, is this correct? I have about 87 GB free on my SSD with 2.2.0 and Nevada and Normandy installed, I am not sure I have enough room to add 1.5.8 AND then 2.5. Suggestions?
  10. What do you mean they never said that? I copied that directly from the first post in the thread!
  11. It says "1 stage: Beta-version. 1.5.8 Open Beta will be updated to 2.5.0 Open Beta. Updater will check 2.2.0 (Alpha) and add necessary modules to 2.5.0. Then Open Alpha 2.2.0 will be uninstalled (user will be prompted about 2.2.0 removing). So I guess I am confused....doesn't this say it will update 2.2.0 to 2.5?
  12. Why? You could have just updated the 2.2.0 to 2.5 Beta if I understand this correctly.
  13. I would hazard a guess that when the carrier is ready, there will some sort of discount for those that already purchased the Hornet. Didn't it work that way with Normandy and the Assets pack?
  14. So....hitting a steel light pole at 400 mph causes damage? Who woulda thought??? You should be able to mow that construction crane right down too.......
  15. I'm still waiting for my AH-64. :)
  16. Maybe, but the work done on the Warthog was the cornerstone for everything ED has done since, and BS2 and the A-10C were the proving ground for things like 6DOF and fully clickable cockpits, not to mention AFM. A lot of work went into developing all that.
  17. The A-10C is STILL a great aircraft module!! It sure wouldn't hurt to give it a little update though....
  18. SLAM, JSOW, and HARM. Because SCREW YOU air defense sites!!!
  19. I have been within two hundred yards of impact of dozens of A-10 gun runs. The dispersion area is very compact. The rounds do stay in a tight pattern, the whole point of the PAC system was to make this happen and yes I do not believe round dispersion is correctly modeled for the A-10C in DCS World. That's not the only issue however. I have had bomb hits within a foot or two of APC's in DCS and the target was not destroyed. That would not be the case real world.
  20. It sure did, but almost all of that was against shipping.
  21. Hmmm I've never had a problem with Steam being on before but I will try it. Thanks!
  22. Thanks, I have tried all that already though. I really don't have that much use on the Rift, the cable should not be shot already either so I'm not sure whats going on. Waiting to hear something from Oculus support.
  23. Suddenly my Rift is giving me problems. Flying along and suddenly the view goes black, and when I check the Oculus app it says my HDMI cable is unplugged. I have checked it, unplugged it, switched ports, tried unplugging and plugging back in the end in the headset, checked all the USB plugs etc. Absolutely no problems prior to this. Its also wanting to kick on by itself at times too, without me picking up the headset. I have sent a message to Oculus support and I am guessing the cable has gone bad. Has anyone else experienced anything similar??
  24. There used to be an option to use enlarged models to make target spotting easier in VR. I can no longer find this? Did they move it, or is it gone forever? I hope it comes back, the lack of resolution in VR makes it hard to spot things......
