I haven't experienced the same problem with the current IFLOLS and the Tomcat, but I am curious about the Hook-to-Eye (H/E) ratio after seeing the trailer. The Basic Angle and H/E ratio are depicted, and being able to adjust the roll angle of the source would be greatly welcomed for those of us planning to take advance of waving on the platform provided - would be a cool feature. [Edit] Also :shifty: are those the correct numbers for a H/E of a Hornet?

Loud Speaker - Can we get a public address system or 1MC (whatever you Navy guys call it) that allows members to make announcements as either a [virtual] Deck Boss or Air Boss without the aid of a radio? Most virtual flying communities that I have flown with model themselves on the practices of wings, groups, squadrons, etc. and they all collectively designate someone to manage the spawning, placement, and movement of aircraft on a shared flight deck to facilitate the safety of all involved. - Public Address System (1MC) that either: a) Allows a player to communicate over a loud speaker to those sitting in jets, spectating, or.. b) an automated announcement, broadcasting the status of startup, launch, recovery, foul deck, clear deck, etc. Is it even possible?

Really looking forward to these. They really are the only skins I'm looking forward to seeing. I hope someone makes both the TOPGUN-era F-16Ns and NSAWC F-16A/B versions. (Hoping I got that right)

Wishlist: fix the default pilot position like the DCS F-16 Viper
MRSHADO replied to OttoPus's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Yep, there was always something a little off about the A-10C's tub. I feel child size in the thing in VR. (begging' not to have an IPD discussion) Maybe its right, Maybe its not - but I too would appreciate if someone that's on the A-10C refurb team take another look at dimensions & default pilot placement. -
Sirius, I think it looks magnificent! Can I make on tiny suggestion before you go final with all of your hard work here? The (Red/Dark Grey) Stripes on the vertical stab could be angled skywards just a tad. As an example, the bottom end on the lower stripe on your tail is almost horizontally even with the deck or waterline. I think if you were to close the gap slightly between the stripes, you have it nailed. I hope you don't take this criticism personally, because I'm a huge fan of what you've accomplished here. Keep up the good work!

Adjectives have no real value and aren't tangible. "New", "Retail", "Brand New".... fantastic. Everyone has different definition of value-for-the-money." I'm on my 3rd third TM Warthog Base in 4 years and have two additional, perfectly operable, TM Sticks sitting on my desk. Each stick cost me approx $225-245 USD (depending on when on this fluctuating market I bought them) because they included the much needed, plastic-gimbal'd base with each purchase. I'm not bashing Thrustmaster - far from it. I do want this Hornet/Eagle/Harrier grip badly, but I question this price tag. It doesn't include a base and is pretty much the same price as the TMWH Stick w/Base (yes, I acknowledge that the Warthog price has dropped 15% because of this release) - but that says something to me and I know I'm not alone. So, I'll wait. But do let me know if it was worth it and I might reconsider.

Oculus Rift S arrived today - just finished a 2-3 hour session flying around. All Subjective Observations Measure of Suitability (MOS): 1. No observable CPU or GPU increase 2. Works fine with DCS Open Beta (2.5.4.30386) 3. Certainly an increase in Visual Acuity over Oculus Rift CV1 4. The sound (ambient speakers) is adequate. 5. First time I found and used my GPU Display Ports 6. Software IPD adjustment works fine (I'm on the low end) 7. I tried wearing my glasses - no problem - in fact fits better Measure of Effectiveness (MOE) 1. (to whomever said it) - I did notice a slight drop in acuity over time but haven't isolated whether that's a MTBF thing or my own constant OFF/ON headset (read: eye) adjustments 2. While the sound is adequate, using your own (maybe high dollar) audio headset is out-of-the-question with the larger, halo-like head band. 3. Very comfortable compared to CV1 The inability to use my own personal audio headset over top of the the Rift S, may be my only NOGO and has me on the fence - but then again I can read the MPCD in the Hornet and almost every label in the Tomcat, so... time will tell.

Heatblur plans for pilot's attitude/mindset towards RIOs?
MRSHADO replied to D4n's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I think "Participation Trophies" is what started this mindset. Either way, keep your chin up because the next module may come with girlfriends. :drunk: -
Thank You.

Victory205, Can you help with a question we had in CVW-11 - who calls the ball? Pilot or RIO? We're sure CRM will be important in Tomcat and lots of reference material, books, articles etc. describe the RIO as the guru of external comms - but this one question remains. In the video clip here (1:55) it sounds like the pilot says, "got a ball" on the ICS and the RIO calls confirms it when asked by paddles.

Case I: How to respond to pitch up from flaps?
MRSHADO replied to San Patricio's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I'm guessing they've landed the airplane consistently, have gotten comfortable with the Power Approach concept, have sat through carrier pattern academics and then successfully conducted (and passed) flying the ball during Field Carrier Landing Practice (FCLP) way before ever going to the boat. -
I'm just looking forward to someone else doing the typing! You all know how hard it is inputting new Target or Navigation waypoints in single seat DCS aircraft like the A-10C (OMG) or the Hornet. Take your time, Jester - get it right. I can be doing other things like flying the jet.

Done. I got it working. There wasn't a conflict before (I'm positive about that), but it seemed as if the de-energized (middle) position after Retract was not being recognized - Trim Up continued unabated. I have since switched it to "Toggle Airbrake" and everything seems to be working just fine. Thanks for the help - Again, great model! -Shado

1. Confirmed: Full NOSE UP trim in transit on the ground with every flight - CANNOT trim Nose Up/Down 2. Cleared All HOTAS and Rudder Controls from all column's to confirm no conflict - No Joy. 3. Nose Up/Down Trim mapped and remapped to HOTAS (THW) trim hat. No Joy 4. Nose Up/Down Trim Key Commands also do not work (for me). However... 5. Emergency Elevator Trim switch is the ONLY thing that will move trim up or down. 6. Trim will transit to Full NOSE UP if Emergency Elevator Trim Guard is returned to closed position. [EDIT] After further reading the responses to a similar post, I realized this issue does in fact have something to do with Spoilers Retract. Still a little confused since that switch was neutral, but that resolved it. CC is fun to fly - looking forward to further study. Well Done, thanks!

Goodness - to say something isn't representative one would have to throw a dart at a calendar on the wall to be specific. No disrespect, but this F-14A/B is "unrealistic" of when exactly? Feel free to add to this: 1) Early F-14A 2) F-14A TARPS 3) F-14B 4) F-14A with LANTIRN 5) Early F-14D 6) F-14B (U) Upgrade (<--Sparrowhawk is here) 7) F-14D (U) 8 - Very Last F-14As (VF-154 with PTID mostly)

With the look, feel, and expertise from the Heatblur folks on this and other projects, I'd imagine them doing a top-notch job on a MH-53J/M Pave Low. I would rather see them do something fixed-wing, but this is a 'what-if" helo topic. :)

That my friend, was an extremely thorough and interesting explanation. Gems like this is why I love this community. Thanks BlackLion213
