  1. Doesn't appear to be flatten - because there are three items there. Though I know little about GIMP. Are the liveries under that + symbol by chance?
  2. Interesting! We too have gotten this message rather consistently with Tomcats in JTF-1, except it isn't AI but other players - Tomcats & Hornets alike. What usually happens after "Your Flight Has Been Delayed" and choosing a different slot is we barely get airborne at ~65-68,000 lbs gross weight. If this is truly the cause, we're grateful to sLYFa for finding it. Of course, we'd be even more grateful to HB for a possible fix. Thanks sLYFa!
  3. I'll be sure to conduct High-Aspect BFM, turn the labels on and shoot AIM-9s. Maybe that will help me understand BFM better.
  4. You can add the F-5E AI to the UFO (what is bleed energy?) BFM capability. I think I heard SKZL say somewhere that AI FM is being tweaked.
  5. You're correct - AI cheats - ALOT. The AI flies good BFM, but it has almost no weaknesses. It would be harder to tell in another jet, but in all modes (rookie - veteran) the aircraft does not bleed energy, has almost no drag, AoA isn't computed the same as the players, and as far as I can tell, will always pull a little harder, rate a little more, or simply negate a bad move by fudging some dynamics elsewhere. I'm not angry - and not asking for lessons in BFM fundamentals - I just wish ED, developers or others simply acknowledge it. (MiG-21bis AI is the same) Tacview-20230818-201550-DCS-F-5E QuickStart - Air to Air.zip.acmi
  6. Please, Please, Please... Let this be the next AI aircraft to get facelift. The KC-135R is missing some pretty vital night lighting.
  7. We used customized deck textures on all the Supercarriers for our group MP servers. It would be nice to have this ability again. Hope someone keeps us updated if this will be possible again.
  8. Yes!! I completely second this entire wish. While I do appreciate Eagle Dynamics bringing the world's most realistic naval aviation experience to players - especially to those that choose to fly or practice DCS in single player - there are a number of us that go beyond that to play as a team, both in the air and on the ground. Of course, that's the multiplayer community. However, It is very cumbersome and task-saturating to depend on AI/ATC menu to communicate with AI objects (like a CATCC on a carrier) that happen to also be human-manned. It is necessarily a break from realism for single players, but not to larger communities. If Eagle Dynamics has gone out-of-their-way to create an VOIP, an LSO platform, and an Airboss/PriFly station - which is very much appreciated to those of us that fly amongst friends - I would only ask that we take this realism endeavor a little further and allow an OPTIONS selection to turn ON/OFF the AI / ATC / Comms menu for items like ATC clearance, carrier lights, marshal instructions and ACLS for those that have those areas covered by human players using the very functions and modules provided by Eagle Dynamics.
  9. DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\Aircraft\F14 = ~9.5 GB \F-16C = ~3.15 GB \FA-18C = ~1.1 GB \Mods\Aircraft\F14 = ~4.67 GB \F-16C = ~1.11 GB \FA-18C = ~892MB My favorite module. Doesn't get any better - but its getting awfully heavy. Perhaps, we can start doing one-for-one swap out for any new liveries. Maybe get rid of redundancies?
  10. I was able to get a pretty realistic deck color (or at least one that I personally favor) by by tweaking Deck_Base.dds. I simply cannot figure out how to cover the rest of it. Those missing pieces are either roughmet or some other file I'm overlooking.
  11. Found the same problem. I'm new to the warbirds (bought all of them) and I can't seem to communication to Wingmen/Flight since 2.7 update. A friend told that you have to use "Easy Communication" but that isn't working either. The Comms Menu for all Instant Missions for the P-47 (and I think others also) F1. Wingman F2. Flight F3. ATC F12. Exit
  12. +1 I am curious which is the Mach pointer and which is the airspeed index pointer. Any word on getting one of these to function as the stationary airspeed index pointer?
  13. MERRY CHRISTMAS, IRONMIKE !!! My thanks to you, Nick and the rest of the Heatblur Team for a productive year with the F-14 Tomcat... ... making 2020 just a little brighter than it would have otherwise been. Happy Holidays!
  14. It's over, people! Reflected has the high ground. Well Done. Looks Great!
  15. Last Bug Standing on AN/ARC-159 UHF RADIO - FIXED!!! 6. That's it! The AN/ARC-159 Modes and Function keybinds are accurate and functional. Close this out, IronMike. Thank You!
  16. This Heatblur F-14 Community has some of the BEST artists in DCS - the proof of which can be found browsing through F14 Skinners Thread or Post your favorite F14 screenshots Although I look forward to seeing a Winner, I'm sure we're going to be inspired either way.
  17. Allow me to conflate more - "to provide vertical glidepath corrections on approach," which is a quote from the NATOPS flight manual. You quoted Victory who conveyed the book's "DLC may be employed by venier or bang-bang control" and both are obviously correct. The approach include all of it right down to your favorite wire, if that's your thing. So, saying "DLC is not meant to fix problems with approach" when the book (and Victory, I believe) says it should be used for all approaches would be incorrect, no?
  18. No... DLC is almost exclusively designed to provide vertical glidepath corrections on approach - without, as mentioned above - changing engine power setting or angle of attack.
  19. I did a CASE III this morning in SP. I'm changing my stance on the IFLOLS overlay. It's useful, especially at distances that you would normally see it, but it's too bright, too large and certainly distracting. But... Like everyone else, I would love to be able to move it, resize it, and/or toggle it ON/OFF with a button or have it automatically disappear after "BALL" call. Some options that may be useful after discussing it with friends: 1) Put it on the other side so that it isn't creating a blind spot to the boat or actual IFLOLS. 2) Have this "enlarged" IFLOLS overlay on the boat's IFLOLS itself and scale it down as you get closer. 3) Create an HMCS-like [emphasis added] functionality similar to the A-10C II HMCS where the SPI and other markers are only visible when looking in their direction. But, instead of SADL or Sensor symbology, have an IFLOLS overlayed on the IFLOLS. And... 4) Yes, yes... make the original easier to see for everyone's machine, setup and optional settings.
  20. A few troubleshooting tips: 1. Confirm you are using the correct Frequency (verify in mission editor, mission briefing and radio control panel) for both SP and MP. 2. Confirm you are using the correct Radio: There are two (2) radios: AN/ARC-159 (PILOT) and AN/ARC-182 (RIO). If using the AN/ARC-182 (RIO) radio with Jester/ Human RIO, confirm it is in the AM mode. 3. Confirm you are using the correct Radio MIC/PTT or Radio Menu(s) in DCS. (check keybinds for each radio) 4. If using DCS Simple Radio-Standalone (SRS), verify correct Headset/Speaker, and Mic input/output is correct under the "GENERAL" tab. 5. If using DCS Simple Radio-Standalone (SRS), verify Radios 1 & 2 keybinds under "CONTROLS" tab corresponds to what you intended. Finally,.. 6. Trying using the radio(s) with & without "Easy Communications" and "Radio Assist" enabled in DCS.

  23. That knob reminds me of a LOT of knobs in military aircraft. They get a little loose over time (not years, days) and will develop a little so-called, "play" in them, where it meanders between two (2) positions without physically violating the wrong detent. In fact, the knob on my throttle that I use to replicate that panel developed the same, exacting looseness. (not offering an excuse, just loudly appreciating the irony) :)
