Stationed At Anderson AFB Dec 1969 thru May 1971
Chopper A-10 replied to Chopper A-10's topic in DCS: Marianas
I was there then . . really a small world isn't it. We had a KC-135 collide on take-off with an F-4, ran over him in the dark, mis-communications with the tower. Tanker had over 1K feet roll, ripped the right inboard engine off with the impact, killed both guys in the F-4. Had lots of F-100s and just about everything else thru Anderson, AF Two, have lots of pictures from the air. -
Just a few of the pictures I have when I served in the Air Force at Anderson AFB, Guam. Eight Air Force, 306th SAC Bomb Wing. Rained in Guam everyday. An hour later you could not have known. Concrete was made with clay dirt that became slippery when wet. You were ordered to walk in the street when wet instead of the side walks. Concrete buildings were not painted, outside movie theaters and great beaches, both white and black sand. Everyday a C-141 came through with the wounded from the war. They were so bad that they did not off load them for refueling. Took my camera with me on every flight.

Hopefully will get fixed with future Supercarrier Updates lanmansc, This has always been an issue with me also . . . I like to start in my Hornet on the side of the ship, not sticking out in the middle of the deck behind CAT #1. If you run your mission, select Colt 01, then go ESC Select Role and select Colt 02, he will always start on the side of the ship, you can go back to Select Role and select Colt 01 again, and it's on the side of the ship. The first aircraft selected somehow gets thrown out there in the middle of the deck. The second aircraft doesn't. Here is my work around . . I always would start my missions with the first Hornet that appears in the opening of the mission. I make it a LATE ACTIVATION. See my trigger, it's for a single second. You start on the side of the ship. Select Role and then choose Colt 02 and he is were you want him. Should work the same in multi player. Hope this helps you out. . . I'm sure ED will fix this in the future. Chopper Check out my latest Hornet mission, I used it in this mission. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/?set_filter=Y&arrFilter_pf%5Bfiletype%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bgameversion%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Bfilelang%5D=&arrFilter_pf%5Baircraft%5D=&arrFilter_DATE_CREATE_1_DAYS_TO_BACK=&CREATED_BY=Chopper+A-10&sort_by_order=TIMESTAMP_X_DESC&set_filter=Filter Multi - Practise 02 Chopper .miz

OPERATION SILICON VALLEY August 15, 2020 On a routine flight in international waters, yesterday, two Navy FA-18C’s were fired upon by Iranian SAM’s. This action initiated the start of OPERATION SILICON VALLEY. The mission will launch at 0545 hours tomorrow. Late last month an Iranian weapons science engineer made contact through secret channels that he wanted to defect. He stated he has information that several attacks are being planned on bases in England, Paris, New York and Washington DC. He produced plans for these attacks using swarms of small drones with nose cone explosives. He detailed where these mini-drones were being produced and how they are shipped out of Iran. The documents that were provided and our own satellite Intel confirms location of production warehouses, shipping routes via helicopter and shipments out of Iran using cargo ships from Kish Island. Detail strike force plans were developed by U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, received approval by the Joint Chiefs and the President. The strategic strikes on these targets were to begin next month, code name Silicon Valley. Lots of audio files that direct your aircraft movement . . Hornets only, JTAC (Autolasing), JDAMs, GBU-12, Harms, SAM sites, A2A, Supercarrier, PDF Mission Briefing file and more. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=284061

This is the sixth mission in my Persian Gulf following Operation Clear Zone, Operation Strike Twice, Operation Knockout, Operation Top Down and Operation Krypton. August 15, 2020 On a routine flight in international waters, yesterday, two Navy FA-18C’s were fired upon by Iranian SAM’s. This action initiated the start of OPERATION SILICON VALLEY. Has four JTAC using AutoLasing to put bombs on convoys. To many features in this one to cover. Mission and PDF Briefing Files located here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3311943/ PM me if you want someone to fly this mission with. Chopper

Default I use Balabokka, it's free, then I change it using Audacity . . throw some background noise it and sometimes add a mic on and mic off sound. It takes some time to figure it out. There is a youtube video on Audacity to make it sound like a 'radio transmission'. There are several . . here is just one I'm working on a new mission now that has 'a lot' of audio files used . . Mother to aircraft, AWAC to strike force, CAG announcement prior to launch, etc. Attached is just one of the files I created for this mission. PM if you like and I can help. Chopper x CAP 01.zip

This thread helped me do what I believe you are trying to accomplish. I wanted to announce in my mission that a particular bridge was destroyed. Worked perfectly. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=272106

Every time DCS updates, I have to run a reset and then reconfigure all of the folder settings. I've been doing this for some time, but it didn't require this in the past. My directory setting for OB is correct, yet, VA says "Not detecting an aircraft for this profile". Also, my FINISH button under the Editor Folder is 'always' lite . . I click, go thru the procedures, the APPLY button doesn't become active. After I run the RESET, I then reconfigure per the folder setting in the attachment. I've attached the log, but I find no errors. My profile isn't detected now, yet the log is not written from today's date. So apparently it's not generating a log each time you use VA Pro. After I reset everything, VA Pro works perfectly . . it just doesn't like the DCS updates. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. VA PRO Files Won't Work After Update .zip

This should help you . . there are other ways to do it also. You can add a trigger for each aircraft entering zones. You can direct your message to BLUE or RED aircraft also, that shown in the video. PM if you need additional help

+1 Here . . . great, great addition . . . don't like to fly without it. Have both the F-14 RIO option and the Super Carrier.

Thanks Hornblower and Hollywood for your help. Just did today's hot fix and did the 're-apply the path', thought that could be the issues, didn't work. Ran my Reset and then reset all the config folders back to where I had them, works great! Not that big of a hassle, I only started having to do this about six months ago, never had an issue before that. I'll keep looking for something wrong on my end, thanks again for that quick reply!

This is a long post, so I might have missed my question . . . Is it normal that I have to Reset my VoiceAttack Vaicom Pro each time I update DCS? That is what I have to do to get mine to work correctly again. I Reset Settings, Profile, Theme and Lua code. Do I need to do all of those? Thanks for any help.

Chopper A-10 replied to Kate Perederko's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Well . . . your Callsign "Gripes" fit you well! "Oh wait" . . . . . must be nice to be as smart and funny as you must think you are . . . work on your spelling first before being a smart-ass on someone post. Your comment waste people's time! -
DCS: F/A-18C Features Roadmap for Early Access
Chopper A-10 replied to Kate Perederko's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Thanks ED . . . great update. Are there any plans to implement the Bank Angle Control (BAC) Option? Would be nice to have the autopilot bank in the TAC mode will over targets. Bank Angle Control (BAC) Option - Pressing the BAC option toggles between NAV and TAC Bank Limits (BLIM). These are used by the autopilot when banking the aircraft. NAV BLIM limits aircraft bank angle to 30°, while TAC BLIM limits bank angle to 60°. Note that the autopilot may not be able to maintain altitude consistently with TAC BLIM selected, depending on altitude. "][/url] Not the highest priority, but would be on the "nice to have" list. Thank you! -
Thanks Exorcet . . with your mission I understand what I was doing wrong. Still confusing with the size and placement of the trigger zone itself . . but I got it to work the way I wanted it to. Thanks again!

Guys, I thought I had a very good understanding of triggers . . . except for the Moving Zone either 'inside or out' of it. In my mission I'm trying to have a launched aircraft fly thru a moving trigger zone that I can activate another group or start an audio message. Tried repeatedly to get this to work with no success. I'm stumped! Anyone have a miz file that they can attach so I can look and see how it works in your mission. I seem to learn better by looking at at mission using Mission Editor. Thanks in advance!

BSS_Sniper had the answer above . . .must be in the F9 Carrier view first. This video by Tricker shows the outside and deck crew views.

I was able to take my 'work in progress' mission and replace the Stennis with the SC Washington . . everything worked as it should. Post your mission, I'll give it a try.

Thanks ED . . worth the wait . . great job, thanks for all the hard work . . . my latest mission will be much better with the SuperCarrier

How to get the briefings in a mission printed out
Chopper A-10 replied to sobe's topic in Mission Editor
Thanks, was looking for a solution to that myself . . will try MizEdit -
A demo on how you taxi and hookup was already done by Wags . . disappointed that these first videos from guys who have the module covering the same thing. Looking forward to a video on how you can assign positions on the carrier for a realistic mission start instead of trying to sink the carrier . . . didn't see or learn much from these pre-release videos.
