  1. Indeed, I confirm, once integrated in a squadron the fun increases exponentially.
  2. If you make the choice to buy this module and if you decide to study it thoroughly, it will give you great satisfaction. Iconic and powerful.
  3. Ahh surely not the best.. but why not in a fan's collection. No problem man.
  4. During day time, on ground you should to have set nav flash and strobes off. Pre-takeoff checks, once onto runway nav steady and strobes on.
  5. Resolved, but not fully. The nose illumination seems doesn't work properly. Furthermore also that the formation light and aar receptacle lights still too much intrusive in cockpit.
  6. I faced this issue on 1.5, the only solution was to do a repair. The problem gone away once the 2.5 installed.
  7. +1 From my point of view would be better to have an auto file pruning option that permit to select how much days the tracks should be remains in folder.

  9. The weather is a fundamental part of the flight, and at present, it does not work well at all in DCS.
  10. +1 another small feature that would make a difference in everyday activities
  11. I'm pretty sure I can state that it's not related to the map in use but is simply a vfx (not yet activated on the Hog)
  12. However, you have already given a good help to those who want to spend time looking ( :alien: )
  13. Supersampling is an older anti-aliasing filter that requires an enormous computational power. What supersampling does is render the area of interest at an higher resolution, then use the extra pixels to perform certain calculations and finally downsample to return to the original resolution. It splits an extra pixel below pixels (as you wrote in DCS we have 1.5x and 2x), so that the single pixel may appear more "homogeneous". All of this work translates into a huge demand in terms of graphics memory and bandwidth. After a quick first trial in Caucasus I prefer to turn OFF this option but I have not a magnificent rig. i7-5820K@4.1 32gb RAM GTX 970 1080p monitor
  14. Same here, for a long time now. I think it's very bugged.
  15. +1
  16. I think this was fixed, try to check it out!
  17. Yeah, I saw that video and I think this effect as a step forward. Another step forward could be the cockpit environment systems (windshield, canopy defog, etc.) and ice simulation and wake turbulences. However, I would like the weather editor to be more complete, with more cloud layers, different weather situation onto more points on the map, ... Unfortunately, it seems that the ED resources are allocated to other topics, and I believe instead that these of which I speak are part of the basis of an excellent simulator.
  18. ED does not talk about it. Does anyone have any news about these aspects?
  19. - A Dedicated Server Software will allow great benefits in terms of performance and management - A new Weather Engine will allow great benefits in terms of realism, finally you can have different METAR in airports and relatively unpredictable situations, ice simulation, wake turbulences, etc.etc. - A new Editor 3D will allow great benefits in terms of creativity and reduction of editing time, and the weather part will contain more cloud layers to set, the ability to position certain weather situations in specific points. It will have the possibility to download a real time weather situation from the ED servers. I think these are the most urgent needs of the real simmer however, reading the forum there are really many other interesting requests like: - a drop-down list about the unit of measure - a better Combined Arms - an integrated multiplayer radio system - bigger maps - more than two coalitions - ..... Thanks a lot I take this opportunity to make my condolences to the team, a serious loss
  20. uhm...just yesterday, when I was rummaging through the files&folders, I found this stuff :music_whistling:
  21. As is known, wake turbulence, for example when taking off, may remain in place for a couple of minutes. What I mean to say is that it would not be realistic to have wake turbulence along the track even 1 minute after an airplane has taken off if there are 30 knots of crosswind. Turbulence should be dispersed or otherwise diverted etc.etc. A similar comparison about an effect "as is" was found in 1.5 when you entered the cockpit with zero wind and you could still hear the sound of gusts (last time in 2.5 I could hear the crickets) Now, from what I remember, ED is working on a new weather engine or it's in their plans soon. What I hope is that the physics of this engine "interfere" with the effects. But I'm sure the ED will do a great job on this too.
  22. Wake turbulence it's produced by variable values, so a part of an entire weather engine. In a few words, if I should to choose betweek had a simple effect completely disengaged by physics, my answer is NO. As a part of a new and professional weather engine is obviously YES. I should also add that we must not forget that helicopters also fly in this environment, a more defined simulation of the thermals and all the aspects linked to them would be necessary.
  23. THIS could be very dangerous. It is a topic already raised and I hope that ED will listen to our feedback. I hope the mixer will be completely revised, and therefore allow us to enjoy the amazing sound effects that this simulator offer. My teammates and I are doing ACM training by 5 months now and we often take advantage of the external views to analyze the maneuvers in real time. And taking advantage of the fact that the visibility of the aircraft in more condition has really improved a lot (really a great job on this). Everyone knows the difference in volume between the cockpit and exterior views and, unfortunately, this annoying thing is becoming also dangerous. So, +1 from my point of view, but I hope the rebuild from scratch.
