Greetings. Not sure if this is a common problem or not however I have been running into this very frequently lately. I am not sure if this is a known bug or not. I have several ground unites. Mostly they are AI air defense units that do not show up visibly in the server. They are there on the map. And interact with the environment as they shoot at me and lock/track fire missiles. ZU-23 shoot at me etc. However I do not see these units and when looking at the various camera views they do not show up either. Any ideas or thoughts ? I have played around with graphics settings however this does not fix the issue. https://imgur.com/Qkh3OqS https://imgur.com/ES8THIT https://imgur.com/DbSWQVr

ECM Effectiveness against AI SAM
Shrike88 replied to Shrike88's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
alright thanks Zuhov / Archer. Appreciate the feedback. -
Well again maybe my original question was lost and starting to see topic veer in the wrong direction. Thanks @Dugong! that what I was looking for. To address other posts I know and am well familiar about ECM and the theory and use behind it. Just wanted to know how its coded if anyone knows or if its even working or implemented in DCS against ai SAM threats. Especially LOMAC is approaching a Decade old and half for FC3. I will check and maybe record some data if there is a 15% reduction on launch range and maybe post my findings, and then we can use that in the community to our advantage as how it IS actually modeled in the sim. Testing more with the AV-8B constant heading speed alt. finding 0 variance on several platforms -ai sam rwr detection -ai sam lock on distance. -ai sam aquire. -ai sam WEZ and launch. thanks guys

Greetings guys, I posted in the main 2.5 open beta thread however since this is a much more active thread, I am hoping for some clarification, and since it involves the Harrier.. well here I am. Really trying to shed some light on a subject I have combed over for hours on subreddits and ED forums and still have not really found any answers. Are ECM pods even working in DCS against surface to air threats ? I have played, created missions watching the engagement ranges and ranges that a lock and am fired on from different SAMs as well as using the 410 pod on the SU-25T, as well as the pod on the AV-8B. Seems there is no difference between having the pod and it activated vs. having no pod. Am I just carting around dead weight by carrying these when running SEAD ? Please anyone help me shed some light on this. Is it even coded on the game ? These pods have been around the Sim forever. Sad to see they do not work for me at all. (I know they work against player controlled aircraft, that's not my question)

Greetings, More of a question for the Dev's at HB. I'm guessing the whole electronic countermeasures suite is going to be modeled for the F14, as well as the optional external pods. How well does the ED engine allow your coding to work against surface to air threats? Is this going to be modeled in the module ? I'm not referring to anything with electronic warfare against other aircraft. Just the ability of the HB F14 for jamming against SAMs and the role it will play. Is this something you guys are able to model? Thanks

Agree, needs a damage model rework. Let's hope this gets resolved the next hotfix.

Thank you for everything you have done for the community. Pushing the envelope in freeware and the mod community we all truly appreciate all of your time and dedication to the DCS base. You will be sorely missed

I would much rather see as soon as possible more functionality for the UFC. The ability to IN GAME real time mission planning and building way points is invaluable. Simple entering of coordinates and positions.

+1 ED please start ticket and fix damage model for MK-20 submunitions and burst area

NEW KA50 ??? > Ka-50Sh or Ka-50N
Shrike88 replied to Ghost_Dragon03's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
AH-64-A, BlockII Last one was taken out of service July 2012. Im sure enough material is available and not classified. Capable of Night attack, not classified and has FLIR. Plus tandem now that two pilot modules are available. -
Yes aware of that thread thanks tex, and the changes. Limitations never exceeded so really no damage was sustained. Basically you have limited flight of 1.5 sorties in the harrier without simulated catastrophic engine failure. Preventative repair after landing does not address this either. Apparently a bug.' -edited- possibly FM is corrected now to repair with suspected engine damage from Limitation exceeded however this still does not effect my issue since I monitored engine parameters. I will However I will test. Unsure of still since no official change log from last update. Thanks tex

I fell into the Temper trap of purchasing the M-2000 on Steam then switching to Standalone for the reason of the more frequent sales and updates. I heard of rumors of past modules like the M-2000 being recognized and allowed credit in the standalone if purchased on steam. I really hope they iron this out soon. not worth buying the modules twice. Good luck with anything on steam.

Greetings. Wondering if anyone else is having this issue. After around 30 min of flying time around FL230 my engine tends to flame out. This can happen after several successful flights and refueling. Caucuses Winter every time around 7K FOB >FL200 around 800 Rpm Unable to restart engine. every time Can start APU in flight however still unable to restart and Air restart procedure unsuccessful. This just started happening after this hotfix 2.14.2018. Anyone else experiencing engine failures in the 20's ? Possible inlet ice ? Thanks Shrike

I have brought this up in the past, hopefully its addressed and not a "limitation of the DCS engine" I agree IRL the engine spool times are different than in game as well as the iconic whine of the rapid spool to idle is also missing. Thanks +1

Thanks for the update Thanks again Chuck, looking forward to the manual, especially on setting the stops on STO, that was always interesting and took me a long time to piece together from the NATOPS and performance guides, I like the short and sweet of it. Take your time, as really not much as by way of systems available to us yet and lots of it is still changing or breaking with the hotfixes. Will be nice when the UFC functionality /navigation and advanced MFCD abilities are ever added. No point in rewriting chapters in your manual several times. Keep up the great work.

As for what was stated above as far as the dispersion is modeled for burst height in game. This is just simply incorrect. There is very little change in dispersion effected area when dropping from 5,000ft vs 30,000ft in DCS. I have tested and tested and will have to upload some screenshots for comparison. ED simply needs to give the MK-20 some love in this area (as well as many other weapons) When comparing from footage in Gulf 1/2 for the MK20 online actual area of damage that is vastly different then whats found in game. As I stated, There is extremely little difference in it being a larger area of effect in the MK-20 Rockeye when selecting PR in deploying from lower altitudes vs extremely Higher altitudes.

no sticky still? +1

Agree on the MK-20 and achieving little damage in game. The entire MK-20 System needs an overhaul by ED

Again as always you guys are truly a class act. Thanks again for the updates and your contribution to the community and your transparency with development only strengthens my resolve on wanting to own this module and enjoy it. Thanks again
