MB-339 and A-4 need to be made into official 3rd Party
fl0w replied to MobiSev's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
This is why I wish ED had some sort of auto-download system for missing mods when it comes to MP servers. Games like Garry's Mod have this where if you don't own it, it simply downloads it and then you have it on your PC, so now you could join that server and others with that same content. -
"That's a 3 wire. SIKE! 4 wire." This actually made me want to punch Jester out then and there.

How to avoid the f-14 aircraft entering the stall and spiral?
fl0w replied to huchanronaa's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Do not confuse the AoA for degrees over units in the Tomcat. Avoid making full bilateral stick inputs with excessive full-back force, as that will cause the separation of airflow trailing above the aircraft to strike the stabilizers causing a separation barrier. As side-slip starts to become more induced, move the stick in opposite lateral directions to counteract the slip. So there's your fancy answer for avoiding the spin of incoming death and doom. An easier way to explain it is this: Don't pull your stick full-back and push it left or right. When your aircraft starts to wobble left and right the more AoA units you get, move the stick in the opposite direction of where you wobble. Moving your stick into that wobble will help it get into a spin. -
I'm for the J-10A or JH-7B. Either of those would fulfill my Chinese dreams.

Thanks for being able to help out Deka when it is needed. I would also admit that a new forum section would help clean up a lot of the general threads in the main directory here. :)

How long has the JF-17 Module been under development?
fl0w replied to MobiSev's topic in JF-17 Thunder
That's when it re-started. It was established since 2008 with the rudimentary 3D model. -
Modeling the circuit breakers for systems would be nice to simulate failures between the Pilot and RIO. Plus if random failures are incorporated as they already are, they are a visual indication of what just ****ed up. :D The radar jamming strobes would also be great to have, but I believe HB noted this as something not well developed yet on the mercy of ED.

That seems fair, it looked like a good failure to implement. :) Hopefully, in the future it may be added (I certainly would love to come across it even if super rare!)

How long has the JF-17 Module been under development?
fl0w replied to MobiSev's topic in JF-17 Thunder
F-16C has been in development since 2008. (11 years) It only started out as a pre-mature 3D model, however, and has only been since this last year rapidly growing in development. The JF-17 has been in development ca. 2017. The first post was an EFM demonstration video on April 27, 2017. -

Hello, I was looking around in the NATOPS for how many failures were modeled in the F-14B and came across this one. This would be awesome to see when somebody messes up. :D

Chuck her at SAM sites with the TALD munitions and do some DIY SEAD + DEAD. ;)

JESTER should start giving BRA afterward the call.

F-14B: A/G Rocket Reticle stutters when A/C is level to horizon
fl0w replied to fl0w's topic in Bugs and Problems
Bump. Was this a confirmed bug or actual occurrence for the F-14B HUD? -
It's EA because it is missing campaigns, a TARPS pod and the Forrestal/AI. The only parts to the module that would give it that "EA" factor is the TARPS pod itself. There is some missing anti-jamming features and datalink, but that is gone by the mercy of ED themselves. Early Access is a vague term that is hinted on the fronts of bugginess and systems completion.
-
Directing this to Cobra or IronMike: May we please have a roadmap on the F-14 module development? The closest we have got so far has been the Early Access features list which just gives us information on what is implemented and what will come later on. Anything set like priorities on the A-6, Forrestal assets, and etc. Thanks for your hard work!
-
The Grim Reapers are good for entertaining content, but it is best to not use them for actual factual data as IronMike mentioned. Structural stress is going to be depending on areas of the airframe and how they're built, like the truss design in the wings and the block sections of the Tomcat in the manufacturing process, where the thickness of the body is the thinnest, and etc.

The DCS: Supercarrier is an upgraded Nimitz with better textures and a slightly more accurate 3D model. (AI one is inaccurate because of some dimension distortion) AFAIK ED plans on making multiple carriers for us, but HB was the first to do that including the Forrestal. The Forrestal will be absolutely free to use, while you need to buy the Supercarrier to have it in SP/MP. Please correct me on this Heatblur (not trying to speak for you guys) but the Forrestal and bugs have been their priority since, the F-14A is going to be next in-line as well as the campaign content and the A-6 AI.

Not possible to rearm/change weapons while engines running
fl0w replied to D4n's topic in Bugs and Problems
Pull the cords, eject! Daniel, just because you have been posting this exact same issue everywhere on the forums with modules, and especially listing it as a DCS bug does not make it an actual bug or problem. You need to have your engines off. You have been giving this answer numerous times and you have still posted in many places hoping for something different. Please take this with a grain of salt, I do not mean to be rude or offensive. -
Thank goodness! I am glad that is still the case then. :) You've just given me a huge buildup of testosterone because of this, time to go eject. :pilotfly:
-
As far as I understand, the priorities of HB have shifted to getting rid of more bugs first. The Forrestal is still their 1st step after from what I have been told. Fingers crossed everything is still running through as planned.

Get a human RIO. If you don't have one, find one. You'll save yourself a lot of time not having to fiddle with the JESTER AI system and have someone in the back to complain about your 4 wires as the Admiral and LSO grab their paddles to prepare a duo session for you and the RIO.
