On my last orders I have used DHS and they have been doing customs in Cincinnati. I had it two days after Degaulle on my last two orders. Hopefully it works out that way for you.
-
I’ve had mine about a month. After all the helpful posts from group members, especially Imacken, I have it set up the way I want it for the A10C II and F18. Including both throttle rotaries, as of last night. I can see why you miss yours! Good luck getting it fixed.
-
I ordered a CM3 throttle on March 7 and it will be delivered tomorrow (March 19, in the US). I had expected a longer wait.
-
That was the first actual mission I tried. It discouraged me so much I didn’t try any others and started writing my own training missions. I can make them challenging but doable and have learned a lot.

EMMY is right about having to turn on the volume buttons on the Comm panel as well as the on/off switch on the ILS panel if you want to hear the Morse code. I did find the on/off switch to be reversed on the AC 10 C1 model, though, which prevented me from finishing the basic training campaign missions. When I switched the miz files to the AC 10 C II, everything worked as it is supposed to.

I went back to the A10C after the new module came out and am having a blast. I did not know about this reference until now. It is incredible! Thank you!

I have no problem dropping multiple JDAMs either, but one will hit a target and the others fall way short. Using the latest beta before today’s hot fix.

Just piling on here but I got back into flight sims with the A 10C, but was late to the gate, and loved it but had a hard time learning all the systems. So I jumped to the F 18 and was able to learn it along with everyone else, which was a big help. Same with the F 16. But going back and really learning the A 10C II along with everyone else, and having more experience with DCS has been a blast. I haven’t had this much fun in years. My wife thinks I am an idiot, lol.

You are a good communicator, BIGNEWY. Better than anyone we have had in the past.
-
I have to agree, I love DCS and really like the better communication and the recent updates. But, the training missions are good but very incomplete. How many times have we heard “this will be covered in a future training mission?” Only to find there are no further training missions. I know they are hard to do and I know you need the money for the software engineers. But I would really appreciate a more complete set of training missions.

Thanks for bringing it up again. I have struggled with it for weeks and had exactly the same experience. Looking forward to trying it out tonight. Edit: it worked! Thanks to the brain trust that figured this out. It is not the most realistic mission to drop 8 bombs on 8 targets, but it is fun and that is what this is about for me. Plus if I am stumped by something I keep at it till I get it right, so on to the next challenge.

I’m confused by the reference to F-16 lessons 4 and 19 in the patch notes. I only have 8 training lessons. Am I missing something? I would love to see more formal lessons. Thanks.

With yesterday’s patch I can almost hit my 2.5.5 frame rates if I lower PD from 1.5 to 1.3. Everything else is set to high, no shadows, MSAA 2. Still not where it was but now playable.
-
I did more extensive testing last night and I stand by the improvement after deleting all the shaders files for Caucasus. Still not at 2.5.5 level, but playable, which it was not before. But then I tried Persian Gulf and it was horrible, stuttering, low FPS, and totally unplayable. I have no idea what is going on. It is frustrating.
-
Hey, I never cleared the terrain shaders files. Made a lot of difference, I am back to 90% of the FPS I had with 2.5.5 and can again use VR. Thanks for the advice!
-
I find performance about the same as the last patch, FPS still about 25% down in VR, things seem 2.5.5 level in flat screen. I thought about reverting but I really like the improved MFD graphics in the F16, both on the main screen and on the exports. So I will fly 2d for awhile and concentrate on learning the systems. I’m am patient and still having fun but I feel for the MP folk.
-
I have always done the OP test with CV1 and now Rift S. 2.5.5 consistently 105 plus or minus a couple of FPS. 2.5.6 high 60’s to low 70’s with same settings. I was comfortable with 2.5.5 FPS and can live with the current rates but hope they can be tweaked.

Thank you. I went back to the A-10C recently while waiting for updates on the F-18 and F-16. I can’t wait to dig into your new manual. Your work is priceless.

Yet another JDAM post (need help re-learning due to logic update)
DucS2r replied to obious's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Thanks for digging into this. I am frustrated too and just want to figure out the right way, which hopefully will be clarified in one of the upcoming OB updates. I will fool around a bit with it tonight too. Looking forward to tomorrow’s update. -
Great post. Great song! Thanks.

Your Thoughts: Is the F-16 Worth Time Investment Now, or Just Wait
DucS2r replied to flameoutme's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
I was a huge Falcon 4.0 fan who thought the days of new highly realistic flight sims was over. I discovered DCS about three years ago and have been grinning ever since. I got in late on the A-10C and never fully learned it as I got wrapped up in the F-18. It was great to learn it as others were figuring it out, lots of help on this forum and elsewhere. I planned to do the same with the F-16 and have enjoyed it so far. I got a little frustrated recently with it and some new problems with dropping multiple JDAM’s on multiple targets in the F-18. But I found the perfect cure: I have gone back to the A-10C and am finally really learning it. It is a blast, great plane. And as patches and updates come out for the F-18 and F-16 I can catch up on those models. I don’t regret buying the F-16 or the F-18 in EA as it is great to learn a new module along with everyone else. -
I found out pre Viper that the most accurate way to always hit 4 targets with 4, or 8, JDAM’s in one pass was to assign each target to a waypoint and then input those using the TOO, WPDSG on the HSI, then PP, then step, TOO, WPDSG, PP, step, and continue until all stations were programmed. I entered data/precise first, though I don’t know if that mattered. So it sounds like that was incorrect too relative to the actual Hornet. Too bad, I enjoyed that method. So, I too am going to wait for the fix. Plenty of other things to do and learn.

Problem Using Multiple JDAM Deployments with Targeting Pod
DucS2r replied to US_Marine's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I thought my comment was pretty mild. Obviously you thought otherwise. Well, back to the A10-C, seriously, I still have a lot to learn there and I look forward to it. It is a great sim.
