-
ah its the red exclamation mark by the online button
-
you know what, I don't know, there used to be a button, or click on post but I think its gone
-
no problem here with a hog setup, but I never use curves, personally I would say try and go back to default settings and see if it will help you, she is sensitive but I find her easy to fly, I think adding too many curves deadens the flight characteristics, you don't need rudder to turn her softly in the air

Help a fixed wing pilot choose his first helicopter
thrustvector replied to Birko's topic in Chit-Chat
well, not this thread obviously, but a lot say get the shark first as you can fly her without pedals......having them all and apart from a few planes I enjoy, its mainly rotors. I would say this, yep huey is easy as pie to fly.....ooo that rhymes :) and so is the mi8...wait for it,... so is the shark, the gazelle needs a lot more finesse, and needs to be looked after more. the huey is bulletproof, sling load, troop drop, extract, gunship and you can play ride of the Valkyries and freeride all day! the 8 has more systems to learn, does not fly like a truck when your used to her, feels heavy in you hand!! carries a ton of weapons......is a big hueys brother, BUT is delicate to people firing pea shooters, so for that reason is 2nd. shark, well it was my first module and the one I play least now, after its update hopefully ill play more, very easy to fly/land but has issues at the moment as a new pilot I wouldn't put on you, so 3rd gazelle 4th too complicated to start. one thing I will say as the need for pedals, if you have a hog setup, you don't need pedals at all, I flew for the first year with none, using the z axis on the throttle, and found it not only easy, but it took me soooo long to get used to pedals afterwards. I also know others on here that do the same :) so, after a tooo long post.......get the Huey. -
ok fair enough each to their own, but I think your missing a great helicopter, its not that slow either, quicker than a huey, carries a lot of weapons and is strong as an ox, when you can fly her well, she's very manoeuvrable too. but yea, good job we do all like diff stuff @)

it would be great to get this back into the "8" the immersion alone would be sooo cool -
[FIXED INTERNALLY] Canopy bug following Update 6 Hotfix.

thanks for info Nine :) -
yep she's pretty fragile, but more of a lightly armed scout/sniper, so as such treat her that way. bought her in sale too so I have all the copters, was the last as I didn't think it would add anything, and I'm pleasantly wrong. such a different bird to fly very nimble needs no trimming fly's very well with small inputs, when airborne needs virtually no pedal inputs till coming to a hover(for general flight)had a few probs with finding things of how they work in the manual, but yea glad I have her
-
Thank you very much Ramsay, I guest the manual has most stuff but not good explanations, forgot about a chucks guide thank you
-
right, I hate keep asking more questions, but the manual hates me, if its in there please point me too it....I find it hard reading pdfs. when I have hots loaded and I see an enemy, co pilot, lock target etc but I never get any range info on the tv screen, so I sometimes miss as too far away, what am I'm not doing? thank you in advance...again guys :)
-
hehe, np there I know how you feel
-
ah no worries, I thought you could prob just adjust the lua on the blue one, glad your happy :) and sorted
-
enter as said a couple of times on the menu, then msg I think then its done :)
-
indeed found that out now, it really doesn't need it, as I'm having no problem with it, flies nice but was just asking :) the auto collective is brill thanks for that, works a treat
-
https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1909824/ this is a blue one, they are independent from skins, change in your settings menu for the dash
-
ah rather than just trim alone, thanks ill try that, and cheers for the alt tip.....ill try that later too :)
-
guys, just a little question as the manual is/seems pretty useless. trimming.....doesn't seem to do anything, I trim and her and hear it click in, but it doesn't not hold like it would in the 8 or the huey for example, itl pretty quickly drift up/down/left/right. Not much of a problem as she is easy to control but just wondering. other thing, is it possible in auto hover to adjust altitude? say I have come to a hover behind block of flats/mountain etc can I just pop up and "peek, then come back down? I did see a guy on youtube doing it but does not seem possible in auto hover. cheers for help
-
ah gotcha sorry Frag, yea there's very few I add zones/curves too
-
just a thought Thor, for a purely fictional skin, be nice to have that nice matt green/grey with a lime green accent :)
-
yea I know that thanks, I was asking just out of interest if there was a dead zone in the copter itself, just sounded that way, sorry if I got that wrong
-
ooo, worse thing happens you mess em up either copy n paste to desktop for a spare set or re download from user files :)
-
mainl if it says false its using a file somewhere else, the true ones are your files, and on the Lua....edited in notepad++ you will see they say for example pilot.........dds.bmp check that with your file pics, edit them(rename just delete 4 spaces .bmp do the same on the Lua save and voila
