Hi, I ran a test on the Mission 4, that's the one with the refuel with a formation of 4 planes. It works for me as intended. I was able to order them to refuel, then I plugged in, the F-18's followed me to WP 4 and then they went and dealt with the HAWK site and the other SAM in the area, I was able to go over the range of SA-15's and drop the bombs on the ammo depot. I haven't done any AAR in about 2 months, damn, I was rusty. So, on the latest OB it works for me. Any chance you can get a recording maybe? I had my flight on radio 1 and Texaco on radio 2 Cheers, Sorel

Good idea, thanks

Hi guys, My next campaign happens in the UH-1. Since there's at least 4 people in the crew there's a lot of chatter in the cockpit, some of it is mission specific and some of it more narrative. Adding subtitles will create some big walls of text that are not easy to deal with especially in VR. I'm leaning on just adding the mission specific data in each voiceover headings, radio frequencies, other hints for the missions and leave the narrative just as sound. This way with the message history feature you could still go back and make sure you know what needs to be done. Please give me your input as I'd like to hear anyone's opinion. Cheers,

One small issue with coordinates
SorelRo replied to felixx75's topic in AV-8B Hormuz Freedom Campaign
That was a mistake on my part when creating the briefing docs. Sorry about that. Converting it shouldn't require a tool. A calculator or math should do it. I'm working in some additional updates with the AI logic on all the missions and part of that I'll put the coordinates in the proper format. To be honest throughout the campaign if you study you brief and know where the bullseye is and where you are you wouldn't have to do an offset too many times. -
Well, they took good care of you. You were able to do your mission without the Harm being a pain. Of course they were not behaving like this when this was put together. AI Changes, I'm no going to check this until the 20th after the next update. Otherwise I'll do changes and then who knows what will happen.

Mission 12 JTAC and others optimisations

A tad too late for this now I'll see what I can do about the rest. Thanks for the suggestions. -
Mission 12 JTAC and others optimisations
SorelRo replied to Raidhen's topic in AV-8B Hormuz Freedom Campaign
Correct, they were not available in 2002. I think they got introduced in 2007. -
Yeah, the tweaks should make the AI more eager to engage, also I fixed the radio confusion. If you want to continue, you can skip it and play it after the update
-
I tweaked that mission, I'll try to send it to ED as soon as possible maybe it will make it on the next update.

Mission 12 JTAC and others optimisations
SorelRo replied to Raidhen's topic in AV-8B Hormuz Freedom Campaign
I checked this one and when setting up the laser It's NO LOS. I'll try to tweak it and see if I can place a unit in a spot where there's line of sight to the APC's, indeed it would make things so much easier and accurate on how the SEALS operate. -

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I'll look into it. -
Roger that! Sorry, I missed putting it in my bug tracker

In test and when this was launched, I was able to take the whole group out, using the ordinance and guns, there's no AA threats close to you anymore. The same, the wingman has to be asked politely multiple times to go and engage, sorry, that's ED's AI. I'll review it and see how they are acting in this latest update. It s quite a sight when you see 4 Harriers going for guns on those launchers. Cheers,

Mission 10 - Ground Attack
SorelRo replied to CrispyRoboChicken's topic in MiG-21bis Battle of Krasnodar Campaign
Thanks, I discovered another bug in it. working on a fix right now, it should be available in a day or two. Dang active runways changing after every update, always something to do. -
Do you tell the AI to cover you? This is the only way he is engaging more or less. Also, using the SA-6 is not a sin. AI is tough lately with all the changes that are added after each update. Sorry if it was a pain. I'll change the conditions to just surviving the mission. A year and a half ago when this mission was put together AI was behaving differently. Who knows how it will behave after the next update.
-
That may be the problem. I'm reviewing this as well and try to come up with some safeguards to get rid of those SA-15, In the development of this campaign that's not how they used to react.
-
I'll check and see how the AI is doing on those missions. Without the reports from you guys I can't catch whatever happens after all the updates in DCS. Better to tell me if a mission is messed up after you fly it then get frustrated and fly 3 4 of them. I can't humanely check all of them. I tried once and pretty much ended up up having a heart attack.

Sometimes you are getting calls that pilots are down and if you know how to monitor guard freq you can listen to their beepers, but, as in reality, you are not going to be able to do anything about it. It's just for immersion. Most likely you are not patient enough that signal comes when all the sites are hit enough to allow you to survive. It also might be DCS bug, I'll check that mission. I'll have to see if this is another bug, the signal is given when the F-18's are taking down the SA-15's This is DCS's AI. Something I can't control, these missions have been tested and have worked properly at the release. When bugs like this are reported I'm trying to tweak them to allow the AI to do better, but sometimes, that's how AI works. There's not a whole lot I can do about it. It's way way over my head this one. I call BS on this one. Out of 3 missions on Tarawa, there are 2 with an empty deck where you have crew and the last one with a deck that's quite full where, for the sake of framerates in VR i decided to take the crew out. The other carrier is a SC should have crew on it no matter what. again, another thing that I cannot control Will be added as soon as the AV-8B will leave Beta and Razbam won't tinker with the engine. Engine performances changed and your TOTE has to change too. I didn't consider it a show stopper this one. Cheers,

Yeah, I'm at mission 13 out of 15 there are altogether 32 pages of dialogue in this one. This will turn into a novel.

Sorry for the late response. A new version of the mission 6 is available here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cFSyIi8522wiQcJGSpj79WRZb9BElV8g?usp=sharing Just replace it in your campaign folder that's under: \DCS World\Mods\campaigns\F-5E Black Sea Resolve '79 I'll submit it to ED as well. Cheers,

Do you have any mods? Is it crashing at the same spot? I'll try to reproduce it. Cheers,

So, when I tested this campaign, and when it was sent to the testers, this mission never failed. F-14's would sweep the skies clear, having the skies clear would bring another set of dialogues and interactions in that mission. Now, with the latest changes introduced it looks like there's some problems with how quick the F-14's are engaging and how quick they are dealing with the fighters, not to mention that the Phoenix may be broken again. I can't balance this in a way where you still feel like you are part of a bigger war, and yet having to pretend like the war around doesn't exist. It's a pain to deal with this. I'll see if I can adjust this mission in any way. Cheers,
