I will be happy just top get a Phantom to start with...I do believe they will give us a Naval variant after the E is released.At least that's a feeling I have. If I had an say in the matter and I was limited in choices I would say a F-4E (early and Late ) versions and a Naval F-4 J/N. Maybe down the road if the module does well the C/D phantom as well... PHANTOMS PHOREVER!!!!!!!!!!

I am not into helicopters and of the 4 fixed wing that are present only the MiG-21 was a major player. The F-5E never was a big player outside of Third World Countries . Basically the same with the F-1. It was not a big player outside of the 3rd world and only saw service with France as the only Western country to use it which it did see combat in the late 80's into the 90's with them. I know there is a MiG-23 module in the works which would be a great addition but I would like to see more Western aircraft. The reality is with the F-105 ( after giving it much thought) we will never see it because its only combat was Vietnam and we will never get a Nam map for DCS. At least I do not see that happening in my life time.

One thing I have noticed with the DCS community and seems to be a big issue why we do not have and will not get any 60's -70's era aircraft is that it seems that the majority just want WW2 planes or the more modern planes. Seems like there is only a small group of us that want the 2nd and third gen jets. Honestly I am burnt out on WW2 stuff and I am sick of all the modern stuff as well. Why we do not have an F-4 is beyond me and the F-8 and A-7 modules seem still no further along than they were 2 years ago. Its sad there is not more interest in the earlier jets. If there was more I feel we would have more of an effort to make them a reality...

Back in 2010 the Collings Foundation was looking into wanting to restore a F-105 back to flying condition . From what I understand there was a lot of resistance from the Air Force and the Government in general against the effort so it never got past the initial planning phase. Since they were going to attempt it they may have a lot of the info people are seeking.

I would think there has to be enough data out there to do the 105..They were flown into the mid-1980's so I am sure if you dig all the data needed can be found. It just takes the effort to look.Which may be time consuming but I think you would be surprised what can be found sometimes when you start digging.

I have always thought the external lights on the HB F-14 are too dim compared to real life. I have actually seen F-14's with the lights on back in the day and they are brighter than they are in the sim. That is the whole idea of them. To be seen.

I tried playing with AIRIO off to use the new Lantirn features but having used the AI for so long to communicate with Jester it was just very cumbersome and un-enjoyable so I just turn AIRIO back on and will wait. It sucks having a feature that I just cannot use right now but I understand why it makes no sense adding the new stuff until it is stable. I predict it is going to be a long wait though for it to be added . I do not see it coming till after the first of the year at the earliest...

There are always two factions to any situation. There are those who are perfectly fine with having Forrestal as is and just a disguised Stennis and there are those like me that just see it as a wasted pointless effort if it is never going to be anything but a new Stennis when we paid for the SC . I think once HB found out that ED was not going to let them add SC features to it they should have stepped away from it and spent the time ,effort, and resources finishing the Tomcat. I know the situation is not HB's fault but I see zero benefit to having the Forrestal for anything I play here and do as having the SC and its features is what makes doing carrier ops enjoyable and not generic. So I will just wait and see how this all plays out over time as we all will have to do. I hope they are able to work something out with ED but that will not be anytime soon if they do I believe. That maybe years off and who knows where things with DCS will be by then.

Kinda just makes the Forrestal pointless if you have the Tomcat and already have the SC. At least for me. I would have no reason to use it if its just the Stennis that looks different. And reading that quote is not reassuring .Makes me think that is all it will ever be.

I will take whatever Phantom they are willing to make at this point. I would prefer a Navy Phantom or a F-4G if it has to be land based but everyone wants "The Gun" so they want an "E". As much as I want a Navy one I really do not see them making it. It will probably be an "E" if they make one at all. No one even knows if HB is the one who will make a Phantom or have even considered making one. And as it stands now with so many aircraft in the pipeline unfinished unless it has been in development in secret the last couple of years it will be 4 to 5 years before we will even see it if they start on it now. Its all very disappointing as to why we do not have a Phantom now. At this point I will be surprised if we ever see one at all.

RF-8's did operate from the Nimitz as well as Phantoms. If you watch the movie The Final Countdown which was filmed aboard the Nimitz in 1979-80 there are scenes with F-8's. You can even see a F-4 on the fantail in one scene.

I have had the same issue for a good long while....I have never been able to narrow down exactly what is causing it. To me it seems some command is happening when the PTT is released that should not be .

I am flying the F-14A when this started happening....It seems to be intermittent with me. But here is my Debug Log . Maybe it will help. VAICOMPRO.log

I am having the listening suspended issue in SP as well. I have no mods installed so I know that is not causing it. Tried all the suggested solutions here and nothing worked for me. One thing I noticed is if you are in VIACOM control panel and in the PTT tab and press any of the TX buttons in that tab it works fine. It is only not working whne using the PTT Button controls on the throttle hat button I have set up for these commands.

It is really stupid to have to jump through all these hoops as an end user to get this program to try and run correctly like it should. And not one of these so called fixes that has been posted on this thread has worked as a full proof fix to the problem for me and I am sure that is true for many others . I have tried them all multiple times. There is something seriously wrong with something that they changed in the code three updates ago when this issue first raised its ugly head.

Update did not resolve the issue as far as it goes for me. Un-checking full screen makes no difference either. Again when loading a second mission CTD...It will sometimes do that a few times and stop crashing for days . Other times it will crash constantly on a second mission load for days on end before it mysteriously stops. None of the fixes people here say works for them has made any difference for me. This all started with the update before these last two updates.

One thing I have noticed is at least for me the issue comes and goes. For several days the game crashed on 2nd mission every time with any aircraft. I did not play for a couple of days came back and loaded the program and have had no crashes at all and I made no changes to anything. This has happen to me 3 times already. It will run fine for 3 days to a week and then start crashing again on 2nd mission.

Well at this point I am just going to wait for them to make a patch to fix this. Deleting folders , Recreating folders and all that time and time again has become to much. If it were only a small group of people having this issue then I would say ok , but it seems like its a good number of people having this issue and it has been going on for a few weeks now. I had hoped that the latest update would have addressed this in some way but it did not. So hopfully they are looking at this and will have a patch to fix it soon.

I have been experiencing the exact same thing. It was crashing every time I loaded a second mission and then last week it stopped mysteriously . I updated with the new DCS update today and it started crashing again loading the second mission. Will do it with any aircraft and any mission.

I did the latest DCS Update and its crashing on me if I try an load a second mission. It was doing the same thing after the last update but stopped after a while.

The only aircraft right now that I really want to se developed is a PHANTOM!!!!! And for it to be everything it should be the only two developers that would be able to do it right and give it justice is either ED or Heatblur... My Kingdom for an F-4 Phantom II module.....

I am sure you are right. I have not flown the B to check.I have just been flying the A lately.

From what I have been experiencing and what happens to me is the system is seeing the F-14 as the F/A-18... When I "Call the Ball" I get "Hornet Ball" back and even when I am lined up perfect in the landing I get Wave Offs and poor scores. I believe the system is bugged and it has not been fixed yet.

I got a set of them last week. I have been playing around with them just with the F-14A . So far I am really liking them . I also though need to figure out a good mounting position for them with my setup....
