so basically maybe if on a 3xxx series worth the upgrade but if on a 4xxx not so much but bragging rights.. I still sit on the fence. I would like to get better then the current 4070Ti I have maybe I will waint and see what the used 4080S are selling for.. Still a good breakdown with benchs and such with the raw performance..

Hey Guys, I was running some tests and was wondering which ports besides 10308 do we need too open for Playing DCS? now I know port 10308 is for who hosts but there has to be other ports required to play on DCS or is it by some magic it just works? Also for the wise guys yes I realize officially they say port 10308 but I think that is not the entire story here?

well it might depend on the mission, do you have a particular mission too try or a canned mission to try, I dont have a AMD CPU..

I was told by my friend that the other optical cables should be as good as the official cable but IDK for sure.. Maybe someone else with a 3rd part cable can chime in here. I ONLY had luck with the Q3 and a Official Meta link cable.. I tried 3 other cables..

well the only time I seen this screen in DCS with the Q3 was when I used the aftermarket non optical cable. When I used the Meta q3 cable I never had that issue.. so for whatever reason Q3 does not like most other 3rd party cables.. is another usb Hotas/device mapped to that axis of the EX\s TDC?? I have Saitek rudder pedals and they always get assigned to the X&Y Axis of my HOTAS and it causes drift?

well that is why I said to get the 3rd part optical USB Cable but they are still about 50bucks usd.. and I tried two aftermarket cables that did not work..

oh ok the Anker was your cable I thought that was something else.. I had this happen to me as well with an aftermarket cable. I did have the Meta Link cable and never had that happen. I would try another 3rp party Optical cable or just get a meta link cable..

well the thing with vr is you need to maintain a certain Frametime and under to get a smooth looking flight. in your case you need to maintain 11.1ms or under and the more under it will be smooth, if you go over 11.1ms you will perceive it as stutter.. I would say try running @72hz and see how it goes and yes definetely get Frametime app or simialr it is important.. If you tried a lower Hz and you still get Stutter maybe something else is wrong with the system like malware or a misconfiguration.?

what is your frametime in game? also what Hz rate do you run?

what is this double vision effect you talk of here without ASW?? I had a Q3 and seen no DV in game as I did not use ASW or would I ever.. I use a Reverb G2 currently and it is as butter smooth as it can be meaning I am about flatlined all the time with an occasional spike.. I am pretty sure with your system and a Rift S you should have a similar experience. either you have more proccesses running or some nefarious going son on your PC..

did you do a clean install of Windows or did you just migrate the old windows to the new system??

well your PC is a bit on the low end not sure if that is a factor but it could also be a cable issue.. the log to me with a quick lookover does not seem to be anything out of place like your other log but I will have a better look. When did you buy the G2, you do realise it may only be good until Oct. this year after that Microsoft is taking mixed reality portal off the air so the G2 and other WMR Headsets are not going to work any longer.. I did notice in your command line you have the arguments listed I do not think they are needed any longer.. also what resolution and Hz rate are you using I would reccomend turning down the overall resolution and set it too 60hz if you are on 90hz.. you pc is not going to be able to handle full rez and Hz rate.. if you have MSAA On try and disabling it also do you have gamemode and hags on in Windows?

it is basically like you said you set it too 120hz and then lock it too half the refresh rate. I am sure Pimax calls it something else but that is what that feature is I think maybe someone else who has a Pimax can chime in.. I am guessing I can get it working if I lower the resolution some but I was wondering how it looks in the Pimax when you run a lower rez. I did it with the Reverb G2 and it was ok just curious how it looks in the CL.. thnx

Wow I am imagining I would need to set the rez down to like maybe 50-60%?? How does it look where you set it at? is that motion reprojection locking it like you said there?

umm at the end of your log it looks like all your devices got unplugged and I mean everything including your Monitor usb devices and the G2.. maybe try disable hotplug devices in option for controls? Does the VR work with other games? what did you plug the USB from the G2 into? do you get the 4-1 error on the G2? does your devices get unplugged all the time or only when playing DCS?

Hey All, I currently have a Reverb G2 and its struggles using it with my MSI 4070Ti. Now I was wondering will the CL have issues with the 4070Ti too? Like Currently I can run at 80% of Full Rez @60Hz. now I noticed the CL seemed to have only 72hz as it's lowest, I had issues with the Quest3 I tried out last month but I chalked it up to the USB Link Cable.. So does anyone here have a 12th series or newer CPU with a 4070Ti, what kind of FrameTimes do you get in DCS @ 72Hz or do you have to also lower the Rez down a bit? I am kinda on the fence with a CL. I am continuing to monitor the CL any info would be valuable..

I am not entitled but it is sick that nVidia is using fake frames and making look like a performance gain when it is not.. hey that is fine if they are at a wall they could jusrt easily say we are at that point were we are getting diminishing returns instead of the hyperbole they are pushing.. Sorry you feel it is a gain. I guess then I can give nVidia fake money every 2 dollars and pay them with fake money so for every real dollar I give them it will be two fake bills.. hey I like that idea..

well the GPU's are less strong and high in price I am unsure why you say if they do not sell enough GPU's the opposite will happen it clearly did not.. Altho they are set at a MSRP Currently that is almost never the case and if it turns out the 5xxx series AI Fake frame rendering does not work out as hoped I guess the market for old cards will just go up.. Sorry to rant but it just sucks thats all, as I like gaming but it is turning very expensive venture. I need a cheaper hobby. and it is not just the GPU's all the Components are getting expensive. I struggled to find a motherboard that was not 4-500usd for the new 2xx series CPU's. Well guys either way nVidia Prices are only set at MSRP so we will see what they actually cost at release and I am sure the scalpers are going to get most of the cards and people will end up buying those because I guess they have more money then myself.. I only bought the 4070Ti as I thought it was a 256bit bus which it is not and barely can run the G2 at Full tilt and I have to also run in at 60 hz so yes I was burned with the 4xxx series but it is my own fault but these new 5xxx are just smoke and mirrors as someone else said.. plus I bought the 4070ti with a payment plan so the cost seemed to have been offset.. I paid 750$ for it.. but the price can go up with the different versions they come up with like a 3 fan OC Special edition or some crap.. Was it worth it NO!!. if you think all this AI crap and fake frames are going to be great well I hope you enjoy fake frames as it is basically like ASW and motion reprojection and I have to tell you it is awfull when the scene gets busy.. but I guess we will see. either way it is My Opinion if you want to buy a new card and can afford it all more better for you.. my friend is getting a 5070Ti when they come out so I am interested in what the real world difference is with some benchmarks.. as for me yes I have a decent system but I got the CPU for Free and my motherboard and memory I traded up for it with a little cash. I am by no means rich I live a comfortable life and enjoy some gear but at the rate things are going I just can see affording this gear much longer. I really like gaming but it is near the tipping point for me.
