  1. Keen to hear other people's thoughts on the new low-detail grass? I'm rather disappointed and feel it looks like the whole map is infested with tall low-resolution weeds that don't seem to fit or blend in. Perhaps it's just me, but I was really happy with the grass before the latest patch.
  2. The fact that the Syria map has already expanded to the south suggests that there is already an agreement in place between both third-party developers and in time, Sinai will naturally expand to the north as well? If this is indeed the case, both the cooperation and competition between both developers will increase the standard of each map far beyond what we ever expected or imagined.
  3. If I recall correctly the grass clutter distance used to be able to be adjusted in a file called grass.hsl but has since been locked away? The entry's in grass.fx or grass.lua seem to only reference blade size and changing any of these seems to have no effect from what I've been able to tell.
  4. Outstanding!
  5. I’ve had the same problem the last few days and just managed to fix it today. Check that you port forward the port you want to use in both TCP and UDP. (There should be an option to select both on your router.) Add the port you want to use (10308 in my case) to both your inbound and outbound rules under advanced firewall settings. Make sure you select UDP in the box when you create the rule and not TCP! This was the cause for others not being able to see or connect to my server and a headache for me. Hope this helps.
  6. F11 view is also facing in the wrong direction for almost all airfields and completely in the wrong location for others.
  7. I've downloaded the RNOAF skin from user files today and there seems to be a problem with the under wing roundel. . . . Beautiful work regarless
  8. There have been some hints about Easter eggs by OnRetech on their Instagram page. Has anyone found anything yet?
  9. Just to say thank you for update 1.3 and especially for the addition of the pedal trim option. What a versatile little helicopter and such fun to fly.
  10. Seems somebody at OnRetech really likes balloons. lol I wander if they can be shot down?
  11. Nice touch having the balloons over Cairo but as a whole they do look a bit odd in combat simulator. Having them there all year round, in strong wind, rain and all thorough the night dose feel a little odd and detracts from immersion a little for me. Randomisaton according to wind speed and time of day could be a nice idea? Apology's for nitpicking on what's been an absolutely fantastic update to this map.
  12. Jeez, this is insane! Thank you.
  13. Despite trying everything including pressing the button on the collective I cant get the IZLID to fire? Can anyone help, not much info out there. Scractch that, Ive got it working some how.
  14. Thanks, I was just about to ask if you could make that an option.
  15. Thank you for the OH-58D profile. I've had to change Barundus to George as my speech recognition struggled to recognise Barundus no matter how I pronounced it and prabably because I kept calling him George anyway.
  16. Thank you for the 1.2 update and especially for adding the cyclic trimmer. Again could I ask you please consider adding an option to trim the peddles as well for those of us who are twist stick users
  17. Just to say thank you for the work done with the trees in the last update. My performance has been improved immensely and I can now hold a solid 60 fps with the Forest Details Factor slider at maximum, map wide. Much appreciated
  18. Outstanding little helicopter. As one of the many that use a twist stick instead of peddles, I find it really hurts my wrist trying to constantly hold the correct amount of pedal in straining against the spring. A peddle trimmer at the very least would be most welcome.
  19. I've done some testing boresighting on the fly and whist in active pause. During active pause, the Mavericks boresight perfectly and as they should. Defiantly seems related to the new INS update and the aircraft moving.
  20. Will you be updating your other 2024 liverys with the new gear texture and canopy reflection?

  22. Yes there are a number of things you can do, dropping shadows, lowering of the view distance and others will all help but you shouldn't need to. If you can fly between the buildings of Dubai, Cairo, London or Paris on other maps and hold 60fps, then you should be able to fly over a small farm and trees on otherwise empty terrain on South Atlantic too. On the same note if I can have a silky smooth ride low over the buildings of Rio Grande and Rio Gallegos, I cant see why I have a stuttering mess flying up a random valley near Ushuaia where there is nothing but trees? Puzzling
  23. Thanks for having a go anyway. I've done some more testing and it still seems a distancFactor of 2.5 is the setting that will work with all maps. No flickering and good performance for twice the defalt view distance. I've kept the all default presets as they come with the game and lowered the distance for the extra presets to 2.5 for Ultimate and 5.0 for Insane. For comparison, some screenshots below for anyone interested. The difference is more apparent when you flick back and forth between them. Defalt Extreme at 1.5 Distance at 2.5 Distance at 5.0 graphics.lua
  24. I get a senseless drop in FPS in random places and even in the back country miles from anywhere where the only thing rendered is the trees. I can hold a solid 60 FPS on every map currently released at the maximum settings DCS has to offer, it makes no sense that sparsely populated South Atlantic slows me to a slide show in the middled of nowhere with nothing to be seen other than trees. With thanks *For anyone frustrated with this problem, pulling back the Forest Details Factor slider to 0 eases the problem for the most part and can be done in game whist on the fly.
  25. It appears to be directly related to the distancFactor as lowering any of the other settings has no effect. A distancFactor of 2.5 seems to be the highest I can go before some buildings around London start to flicker. 2.5 is not bad being twice that of the default extremes 1.5 and I could live with that but after seeing how the world looks set at 5.0 its a bit of a let down. For now, I will probably use Extreme at 2.5 for Normandy, Sinai and the South Atlantic with its FPS hungry trees, Ultimate for the the other maps.
