The pilot is still present in the placed (Parked) static F-5E model.

Thanks for these. It looks like youve left the wire mesh showing the right wing. (GN-F-5-E3_Wing_Right)

Implementing new higher visibilty range options in DCS World
swartbyron replied to Mustang's topic in DCS 2.9
MAXsenna, just to let you know the optionsDb.lua you have included is out of date and missing the recent spotting dot improvement entry's. While I'm here, for anyone interested, this is what I've been using; View Distance: Ultimate = 2.5; (Preferred for performace) Insane = 5.0; Shadows: Ultra: Value(5) Clouds: Extreme: Value(4), Clouds Ultra (max default) Vs Extreme comparison. Implementing new higher visibilty range options in DCS World
swartbyron replied to Mustang's topic in DCS 2.9
I think ED reluctance to increase the view distance is the huge impact on performance and the number of complaints they will have to deal with by users who expect miracles even from the latest hardware. This is defiantly NOT for those who fly in VR! That said the view distance is defiantly very out dated and we need at least one extra option in the drop down menu at the very least. The best eye candy verses performance balance for me is at 2.5, which is almost double the the default Extreme view distance. What makes the most impact for me is the increased distance you can see the trees and makes me wish the trees had their own separate slider or drop down menu.I would love to be able to push the trees alone up to 5.0 as it would have less impact on performance than increasing the total view distance and still improve the look and realism of the terrain immensely. Increasing the distance that we can see grass and ground cutter is anther on the top of my wish list. This would be particularity helpful on the satellite imagery maps where the texture detail is particularly poor down low. View distance of 1.5 (Default Extreme), 2.5 and 5.0 shown on the Normandy map below. You can see how the trees fill in the gap nicely and complete the picture. -
So nice to land with out all that yaw. Thank you

I'm kind of getting used to the new look but for anyone interested. . . . A simple solution to get rid of all the new green spiky grass is to rename or hide a file called, Ray_Grass_01.ref. It can be found in the. . . . .Mods\terrains\Falklands\surfaceDetails folder. To rename it you can simply place an underscore at the beginning to turn the new grass off and remove he underscore to turn it back on again. Example: _Ray_Grass_01.ref. The good news is you will still remain a pure client so wont affect multiplayer. The bad news is you will need to rename it every time you update DCS or perform a repair.

It seems the older I get, the less I like change. The initial shock threw me yesterday when I saw these tall green things everywhere, but I'll get used to the new look of the grass I suppose.
-
Keen to hear other people's thoughts on the new low-detail grass? I'm rather disappointed and feel it looks like the whole map is infested with tall low-resolution weeds that don't seem to fit or blend in. Perhaps it's just me, but I was really happy with the grass before the latest patch.

The fact that the Syria map has already expanded to the south suggests that there is already an agreement in place between both third-party developers and in time, Sinai will naturally expand to the north as well? If this is indeed the case, both the cooperation and competition between both developers will increase the standard of each map far beyond what we ever expected or imagined.

Outstanding!

I’ve had the same problem the last few days and just managed to fix it today. Check that you port forward the port you want to use in both TCP and UDP. (There should be an option to select both on your router.) Add the port you want to use (10308 in my case) to both your inbound and outbound rules under advanced firewall settings. Make sure you select UDP in the box when you create the rule and not TCP! This was the cause for others not being able to see or connect to my server and a headache for me. Hope this helps.

F11 view is also facing in the wrong direction for almost all airfields and completely in the wrong location for others. -

There have been some hints about Easter eggs by OnRetech on their Instagram page. Has anyone found anything yet?

OH-6A by Tobsen and Eightball
swartbyron replied to tobi's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Just to say thank you for update 1.3 and especially for the addition of the pedal trim option. What a versatile little helicopter and such fun to fly. -
Seems somebody at OnRetech really likes balloons. lol I wander if they can be shot down?
-
Nice touch having the balloons over Cairo but as a whole they do look a bit odd in combat simulator. Having them there all year round, in strong wind, rain and all thorough the night dose feel a little odd and detracts from immersion a little for me. Randomisaton according to wind speed and time of day could be a nice idea? Apology's for nitpicking on what's been an absolutely fantastic update to this map.

Bailey's VoiceAttack Profiles (Added OH-58D Kiowa!)
swartbyron replied to Bailey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you for the OH-58D profile. I've had to change Barundus to George as my speech recognition struggled to recognise Barundus no matter how I pronounced it and prabably because I kept calling him George anyway.
