  1. Major update announced on OnReTech Instagram account. https://www.instagram.com/p/DLVMRGVtMUF/?img_index=5&igsh=N3F2dmp2ZjNvaXU=
  2. The new Marianas WW2 map is looking superb. Will this map be upgraded to match its WW2 counterpart, terrain mesh, cliff textures, trees and the new ground clutter? The difference between the maps is very obvious in the examples below. Marianas WW2 Marianas Modern Marianas WW2 Marianas WW2 Modern
  3. 100% agree! Revised airbase textures and ground clutter are whats most important for me. If I had one more wish, no more air racing fields and cones for phase 2 and 3 please. Ideally it would be best to have them hidden before 1991 in the same way the night lighting works on the Normandy map.
  4. Not many votes? I think this post needs to be shared where people can see it.
  5. I think this is something almost everyone agrees on. The dry areas look very out of place for this part of the world. As you have shown, the airfields would have been green and in immaculate condition even back in the 1980s. I really hope Urga reconsiders the airfield textures and ground clutter before they begin work on the other seasons.
  6. Leave as is but name them using the nearest town or village rather than numbering them. H GDR 12 just tells me it’s located in the GDR but we all know Bitburg AFB is located near Bitburg. Use the actual name of the base or range or radar site if it represents a real life location that the player will be spawning into, navigating to or targeting.
  7. I've been trying to exclude the “sign_airport_pyramid” objects on the Germany map by creating a trigger zone and using the remove objects from zone action. The only successful way I've managed to achieve this is by creating the smallest trigger zone possible for each pyramid I want to remove. It works beautifully but means I need a wopping 22 trigger zones just to remove the pyramids from this airport alone. Trying to use a single rectangular shaped trigger zone for each airfield just removes all the scenery from the rest of the airfield no matter how narrow I make it. Asking on the off chance there may be another way of doing it or perhaps something I've missed when trying to use a single trigger zone at each field? Thanks P.S. I really loathe these nasty little triangles.
  8. I love the new F-5! I can't understand why people complain about spending $15 on a beautiful external model and cockpit that someone spent hundreds of hours developing, but are happy to spend that every Friday night on takeout or at the bar? The old F-5 belongs in DCS 1.5. We're on the verge of DCS 3.0, and every module should be at the F-5 Remastered level at the very least. I would be happy to pay for it. I only wish the external model was transferred to the AI F-5E and F-5 FC, so I don't have to keep seeing that outdated model.
  9. Edit: Hi, If you scroll up, I’ve added some comparison pics to previous posts. Edit: Ive just checked, rocks and stones are removed when GermanyColdWar.sd5 is hidden.
  10. I've just updated my post to included some extra ref files for scrub and some trees. This should give you the cleanest looking airfield without affecting the big trees and vegetation. Pleased this has helped some of you guys.
  11. Yes, it should work the same for all maps. I've tried it successfully on South Atlantic too. You can remove all or any off the vegetation this way including the trees. I've not tested it but I would expect an FPS boost. The more types you remove the less vegetation to impact your frame rate.
  12. For those who don't like the look of the bush and scrub on the airfields, it can harmlessly be removed the following way. Hide or rename the following files to remove bush and scrb; GermanyColdWar.sd5 Anabasis_setifera.ref Azalea.ref JuniperShrub.ref Hide or rename the following file if you want to remove the small trees found at some airfields; KousaDogwood.ref They can be found here; C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\terrains\GermanyColdWar\surfaceDetails When you restart the sim the bush and scrub wont load and you will be left with just green grassy fields. The best bit is, this wont break IC because no files were replaced or changed. You will have to do this every time you repair or update DCS as the scrub will be restored. How to? The simplest way is to create new folder with in your surfaceDetails folder and name it _Hide, then the move the files you want to hide into there. Don't worry DCS and the map will run just fine with out them.
  13. Looks like these got missed as well.
  14. Remastered- SEA livery tail numbers covering insignia. I'm not sure of the correct placing of the tail numbers but I'm sure they shouldn't be coving the air combat command insignia.
  15. The pilot is still present in the placed (Parked) static F-5E model.
  16. Thanks for these. It looks like youve left the wire mesh showing the right wing. (GN-F-5-E3_Wing_Right)
  17. I love this great little utility and its ease of use. Are there any plans to add the OH-58D Kiowa in the future? If not may I please request you conciser add it.
  18. Looks like custom_args needs tweaking in the description for both livery's. Apologys in this has already been reported.
  19. MAXsenna, just to let you know the optionsDb.lua you have included is out of date and missing the recent spotting dot improvement entry's. While I'm here, for anyone interested, this is what I've been using; View Distance: Ultimate = 2.5; (Preferred for performace) Insane = 5.0; Shadows: Ultra: Value(5) Clouds: Extreme: Value(4), Clouds Ultra (max default) Vs Extreme comparison. Distance-Shadows-Clouds.zip
  20. I think ED reluctance to increase the view distance is the huge impact on performance and the number of complaints they will have to deal with by users who expect miracles even from the latest hardware. This is defiantly NOT for those who fly in VR! That said the view distance is defiantly very out dated and we need at least one extra option in the drop down menu at the very least. The best eye candy verses performance balance for me is at 2.5, which is almost double the the default Extreme view distance. What makes the most impact for me is the increased distance you can see the trees and makes me wish the trees had their own separate slider or drop down menu.I would love to be able to push the trees alone up to 5.0 as it would have less impact on performance than increasing the total view distance and still improve the look and realism of the terrain immensely. Increasing the distance that we can see grass and ground cutter is anther on the top of my wish list. This would be particularity helpful on the satellite imagery maps where the texture detail is particularly poor down low. View distance of 1.5 (Default Extreme), 2.5 and 5.0 shown on the Normandy map below. You can see how the trees fill in the gap nicely and complete the picture.
  21. So nice to land with out all that yaw. Thank you
  22. I'm kind of getting used to the new look but for anyone interested. . . . A simple solution to get rid of all the new green spiky grass is to rename or hide a file called, Ray_Grass_01.ref. It can be found in the. . . . .Mods\terrains\Falklands\surfaceDetails folder. To rename it you can simply place an underscore at the beginning to turn the new grass off and remove he underscore to turn it back on again. Example: _Ray_Grass_01.ref. The good news is you will still remain a pure client so wont affect multiplayer. The bad news is you will need to rename it every time you update DCS or perform a repair.
  23. It seems the older I get, the less I like change. The initial shock threw me yesterday when I saw these tall green things everywhere, but I'll get used to the new look of the grass I suppose.
