  1. I think it will make an excellent counterpart to the MiG-19.
  2. Another aircraft I can (hopefully) cross off of the wishlist. Magnitude 3, you have my attention.
  3. Ha HA! Right in the middle of my vacation! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  4. "...because it's the version we have access to..." If they could swing the MLD or MiG-27, then it follows that they would be building them instead of giving us the MLA. :smilewink:
  5. You'll have to ask RAZBAM. I haven't promised anyone a MiG-23. :)
  6. "The version that will be available is the MLA, why? because it's the version we have access to..." https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=213395
  7. I'll unashamedly take all of the help I can get. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  8. Great to watch the aircraft gradually come to life.
  9. I would very much like to have (aside from the Tornado) a Crusader. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  10. The F-14B was #1 on my personal wishlist, and will definitely be my "daily driver" from now on, but there are other airplanes that I would like to have in the stable. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  11. [sigh] No, I suppose not...but, I can dream...
  12. That would also be an acceptable substitute. Though I think it would be great to see an EF-111 if at all possible.
  13. These 3 reasons are why I'm (half) expecting a Tornado. The biggest reason being their experience with swing-wings. I've heard it said that getting the FM just right on an aircraft with variable geometry can be notoriously difficult. Not to mention that they also have extensive experience perfecting multi-crew, as well as not starting from scratch with the radar they would need to emulate. It's not hard to imagine them quietly perfecting the TFR the Tornado uses on the side. Of course, I don't work for or with Heatblur and this is all conjecture, so my speculations could be very wrong. They could very well be making an Intruder for us to play with alongside their F-14. That too, would make sense, since they're known to be building a Forrestal class carrier, and the A-6 (also being a Grumman production) would dovetail rather nicely with a Tomcat. Furthermore, they've shown us pictures of the AI they're working on, so we know for a fact that they at least have an external model in production. [shrug] I would prefer a Tornado, as I've always wanted to try out the "high-speed dash under the radar at low level, at night, and in all types of weather scenario", but an Intruder would still be pretty sexy.
  14. This should be unsurprising for anyone who has been around DCS for a while.
  15. I can imagine JESTER as being a bit more spatially aware than a human when it comes to keeping track of your bandit during the proverbial knife fight, but that's about it. It's not like he could see beyond the range of the AWG-9. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  16. Heatblur, I have a small request. Didn't want to open a thread, and this seemed to be the most logical place to drop this. So... I've put off getting a Tomcat shirt because I wanted one that represented the F-14 in general rather than a particular squadron. I also really like the cover art you're using for the manual. Would it be possible to get shirts made with that on it instead? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  17. I think it's safe to say that if they were to model the Intruder, then it's almost a foregone conclusion that it would be post Vietnam in order for it to fit in with the era of their F-14(s).
  18. I didn't need to...but I probably would have.
  19. Very cool, guys. Can't wait to read it through. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  20. Speaking of 'points', you obviously missed mine. I can't explain it any better than this, and I'm tired of repeating myself, so the following is the final time I wade into this discussion: Am I going to defend Heatblur? Yes, absolutely. I will continue to defend them until I see them do something they shouldn't. Any notion that they've somehow been remiss in their communications with us or, in some other way, delinquent in releasing content according to whatever imaginary schedule that someone made is not - SHOULD not - be their problem. Now, if you, or mortalkombat, or anyone else in the community wants to hold some kind of grudge because you feel they've failed to measure up to whatever expectations you've set for them, then that's your business. I'm not going to get bent out of shape until/unless spring arrives and I haven't yet received an F-14. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  21. Ah, the good old, "if you're not with me, you're against me". I can play this game too. And no, I won't criticize Heatblur until I have a reason to do so. The "tease" of November/December you're referring to was community-generated hype resulting from overly optimistic expectations. Heatblur was very clear from the beginning that the Tomcat's release made deliberately flexible to avoid a repetition of their 2017 announcement. If you want to see more content, just be patient. I have no doubt it's on the way. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  22. There is nothing "open-ended" about that question. It's a perfectly honest one. Heatblur has no need to waste time making videos for us to watch. Particularly since the module is already in the hands of multiple content creators, and there is little to be gained by showing us the same things all over again. The RIO cockpit is obviously not complete, or we would very possibly either have more to see, or have the F-14 ourselves. I want this airplane in my collection as much as anyone here, but badgering Heatblur for YouTube teasers will not get it to any of us any sooner. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  23. Would you rather watch other people have fun, or would you prefer for them to focus on getting the Tomcat to us so we (you) can have it ourselves? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  24. The manual is in no way exciting to read, but it is very informative. In fact, if someone jumps in a server and starts asking remedial questions, the best response they're likely to get is "RTFM". :)
  25. Me either. Military manuals like NATOPS aren't exactly known for being an edge-of-your-seat experience. The information is interesting. The presentation is not. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
