  1. Ever noticed, after playing Black Shark, when you close the game to actually get some work done, you get this little feeling of yawing and banking? I do all the time after playing. I can barely see my screen turn like the helicopter do. It get away after a short while, but still, it's the first game I play that do that to me. Good thing I don't get sea sick or have any motion sickness. I hope that, when I get my trackIR, it will be resolved. Anyone in the same boat/helicopter? :joystick:
  2. And if you press "h" and you get the aiming reticule, that mean you don't have the NVG equiped and you need to get them from the ground crew. That I figured out the hard way.
  3. Speaking of walking. Sometime, after ejecting and landing, my avatar start walking, backward in a straight line and stop if it come close to water or obstacles... That's strange!
  4. I was about to post that.
  5. That would be a nice project, to have a large printable map that could be printed in sections, so the details are all there.
  6. I hope you don't do that with the intent on just reloading and refuling.
  7. British apache pilots refer to their rockets as flechettes. Since they mainly use flechette rockets in A-Stan.
  8. I agree about the batteries. Try a mission where you begin with the Shark already hot and ready to go. If it run fine, check your startup procedure.
  9. Any damage to the aircraft? What's the outside tempeture? When you fly in cold tempeture (sub zero) some of your instruments freeze over time. Such as the speed indicator and vertical speed indicators.
  10. Do the tutorials in the game. Read some of the tips on flying on this forum and most importantly: PRACTICE! Make a simple mission with just your helo and fly around. Learn how it handle and try the tricks you learned here. I'm also a very proheficiant Falcon 4 AF pilote, and I needed a good month or 2 of flying the Ka-50 to get a good hang of it's flight dynamics.
  11. Without having a particular tip, I found that practicing a LOT in manuvering and flying just to understand how to aircraft react and fly will help aim rockets. I did several trainning maps with reacting units and only rockets on the Shark. Replaying these scenarios really improved my aim. From being totally un-able to put rockets on a veh. to being able to hit them all. The trick I found, is understanding how to turn and how to trim. If you don't turn corecly, you will mess your aproach and loose time compensating for the "bouncing". Don't forget that rockets are not ment to be precises. They are like a big shotgun, to spray HE and chrapnel in an erea.
  12. I'd say pedals are a better first buy. I can't imagine flying without them. TrackIR is easy to hide, have it delivered to your parent houses or neigbor.... hahaha
  13. I don't know if it was mentionned before: Bullets that cast shadows. That should be fixed.
  14. If there are hills and citys, I fly very low in between them. In city, it's easy to move around, following the streets. But in general, a good recon of the map and having a safe route plotted around the threat erea is a must. During campain, it's impossible to do, but if it's a custom mission, it can be arranged.
  15. I play on PC because, if the game I buy is not 100% uptimised, it will be with later updates. And if the game get boring, there are mods to change it. I'm glad DSC BS have a comunity to tweek it and improve it. Most of the games I buy are comunity supported.
  16. Leave the wheels down after takeoff then... Haha
  17. When I eject while turning close to the ground, my virtual representation always crash to the ground. I find that in most circonstances, ejecting and surviving is a 50/50 chances.
  18. That's what I use! It's a powerfull tool!
  19. Interesting. I'll try it next time I do a proficiency test flight. That's how I improve my flying technique. I watch the tracs after and analyse what I could improve on.
  20. I think, for this kind of sim, there is no going around reading the manual and studying it at some point. It's fine being able to takeoff, shoot stuff and land, but knowing what the helicopter is doing and how to troubleshoot problem is a major plus. It took me more than a month to learn how to properly fly and attack without bouning all over the place and eventually busting my rotor. So a new player should not expect to be able to fly like in the movies or videos on Youtube "out the box". Some reading is in order before that. I agree that the tutorial are a bit light on information. They should also include basic helicopter flying tips and manuvers.
  21. Maybe because over there in Russia, they are less infatuated with stupid Xbox consoles and think it's worthy to invest in a game that won't be playable on a console. All the new major games in the US are ment to be played on a damned console, wich ruin the game IMO.
  22. EBgames is pulling out of PC gaming. All the stores near me disposed of all their PC games. They only carry a small rack of "Games for Windows" that has less than 10 titles to choose from. They used to have a whole wall... I don't go there anymore anyway, they are over priced. Buying online or going to Futureshop is the best.
  23. Too high collective power for too long ignoring the warnings? Short on gas? Every time it happenned to me, I was shot at and hit. Or once, I ran out of fuel.
  24. Rapid: Your computed has too much pimp on it! Seriously, that's a lot of hardware... What are the specs?
