  1. I manually lunch them, one by one. When I come close to a possible threat, I drop them from one wing in intermitence. (like I've often seen it done in Iraq or Afghanistan) If I see or hear a lunch, I drop them in quick succession of 3 flares. When I check my ACMI tapes in Trackview, I see than the missil get distracted pretty soon by the first 3 flares.
  2. Also, to help you turn, this is how it should be done. I got that tip on a real helicopter flight lesson. Bank the helicopter in the direction you want to make the turn. Add collective so he helicopter start to turn. The vertical speed indicator should remain at 0 or where you want it. Use rudder to keep the nose where you want it on the horison. (Up to slow, down to accelerate). The collective is used to provide the lift for the turn, contrary to an fix wing aircraft, that require more trust and pulling on the stick. If you make your turn the right way, you should not have to pull on the stick, or very little to turn, just adding collective and controling the turn with a little rudder will make you turn in a very controlled fashion. Even at high speed. Since I learned that trick, I do all my turns like that and I can do it without loosing speed and turning and bouncing around. Trimming after each turn is essential so you don't have to fight the helicopter tendancy to move around, even with all the computer assists.
  3. Did you had it on set on Long burst mode?
  4. Press Shift W to put to wheel breaks. Also, if you trimmed with the rudder pressed, the wheels will also be turned I think. When landing, I unlock the wheels, and when I touch down, I reset my trim so I don't roll out of the pad, and put the breaks on.
  5. Update. I checked my graphic card settings, and I turned ON the multi core support in the GeForce setting only for blackshark (Not in global setting). It did the trick. I went from less than 5fps with NVGs on to a steady 20fps wich is plenty enough to be smooth.
  6. Good idea about nHancer, I'll check it and run some tests.
  7. It's a PC Windows XP up to date. Ram frequency, I'm not sure now, the GHz was written on the same line. I just know it's not crappy RAM. I should fetch the spec list from when I bought the computer, it's a custom built one.
  8. I usually get good frame rate in BS when there is not too many ground movement and metal travelling in the air. But when I switch the NVGs on, my frame rate drop to something like 2 to 5 fps. Computer spec Intel pentium 4 Core2 2.33GHz 2Go ram at 2.34 GHz GeForce 8600 onboard sound card (I know, next purchase...) I run BS on almost max setting except for textures set to just bellow max resolution. I also set the shadow to the medium level (just before the max, so the rotor does not cas shadow...) Anyway to fix the unplayale fps with the NVGs?
  9. Nah.. it's the setting for the vibrating massaging seat. For those long flights where the behind get stiff. Settings are OFF, mild, medium, heavy and diarrhea. Quite effective russian massaging systeme.
  10. The russian Secret service will hunt me. They missed that picture and the censored part is showing.
  11. Bullet and frag holes in the windows would be nice, I agree. That and water/snow that need to be wiped...
  12. AI wingmens are frustrating. Upon take off, I tell them to get the hell away from me with the open formation command. And when the battle begin and I fly all over the place to hide, they circle everywhere, sometime running direcly at me, in my LOS and LOF, if not bumping into me. They rarely can hold a close formation, even when I'm not manuvering and flying in a straight line, steady. I hope the first patch will sove this issue too. Even on expert, AI are mostly useless. At best, they shoot the target I'm engaging and waist my ammo.
  13. 5m duel guilty. I'm quite an arroguant pilot sometime. Circling my target and looking at it my angry eyes while I play with it like a cat with a mouse. especially since I found that AK round don't really hurt the shark, even after multime full auto burst. In real life, I'd be keeping my distances.
  14. Hahaha! Nice shot!
  15. I own a cougar hotas and a CH pro pilot aircraft yoke and pedal. Both product are of high quality. The cougar is nice for it being made of metal, but the componments need some tweeking to be top notch. Like fixing the stick center wobble, some buttons and knobs are miss aligned... But it still worth it's price, especially with it's programming sofware that is limitless.
  16. I saw in the game folder that there where some radio station music of some sort... Can you tune them in the cockpit to listen to during flight? Nerver mind, I found my info in the read-me I did not saw before.
  17. If it's the big white missil with red exaust ports. It will guide the same way you fire the Vkers. They are quite potent against vehicules. In one mission I made, I shot an Ural truck with lots of infantry around. They all died from the shockwave, some where far away from the veh. I like that missil to take out small buildings.
  18. Built in sound card for now. mother board is P5K SE with Intel dual core 2.33Ghz Computer is custom made game rig. I cheaped on the sound card at the time and I miss my old computer for it.
  19. Mouse cursor that dissapere after you leave the mouse alone for a seconde. A possibility to place the units in 3D in the editor would be very handy. A possibility to place map info on the Abriss in the editor. Like lines, and other usefull infos that you can do in flight.
  20. I mostly put Hawk sites in my mission, for their simplicity. I create a group of 3 units. Let's say 3 lunchers. I place them on the ground and then change the middle one to a radar. It work with any SAM unit. Creat a group and change the units in it to have lunchers, tracking radar, search radar and other utility units necessary. If you take down the tracking radar, I think the missils don't shoot anymore. Sometime, I shoot the radar first and a missil may lunch a few second after. I don't know if it's because I'm too close and it's a secondary lunch option or something. But most of the time, taking out the radar render the missils useless.
  21. Is it my sound card that is playing tricks on me, or the radio chat in BS has some random interferances modelled in it? Sometime, especially when I'm around other aircrafts or powerfull radar, I get some weird noises and the voices are overlapped or stepped on by the noises. Sometime it sound like real interferances like in the real world. Is it normal?
  22. After many tried, and watching what I did wrong in trackview, I managed to complete the mission without a scratch. The hardest part is localising the right bus. Every time the spotter talk for the first time, it startle me enough to jump on my chair...
  23. I think someone should make a complex, realistic training mission that people could download and try. Using tracview, it could teach some people here tactics and manuvers. Especially if comments are added with the files. We could have a classroom subject to go along with it. I'd be very interested to see that.
  24. Will this prog augment the performance if I'm running 2 cores on XP?
  25. All I had to do is open trackview, set it to record for Black Shark (in the planet menu, second one from the left). Close Trackview. Play BlackShark Close the game, go in Trackview, open the track in the Ka50 "temp" folder. It should be a file .acmi.track or something... You will know it when you see it, it will show in trackview. I expected to be able to open BS tracks, wich Trackview does not. It generate it's own files on it's own when playing.
