I am afraid the AI currently has good eyesight and can see through clouds! Difficult problem to solve.

Tests carried out at Duxford Airfield you can see aircraft doing an air display from 5nm and at say a height of say 2000ft. In the air, head-on, you should be able to see an approaching P51 at 2nm. That is why the target lock command was added, as an alternative to using labels.

Yes - there is a motion platform, and it works with DCS titles. See - http://www.d-box.com/gaming/en/
-
Remember - to fly FC2 or FC3, you must have purchased and installed Lock On http://fighter-collection.com/cft/tfc-flight-sim-shop-europe/

How did you like the video - Roaring Glory Warbirds"?

This is the download UK version of DCS:P51D. Just Flight is a download distributor

The English boxed version will become available in Europe in mid December. In manufacturing now.
-
It is planned that there will be a boxed version, but may not be until late December.

Yes I agree - I have an amateur modified stick (which I first got for Black Shark). It is about 1.5 ft long. The difference is quite remarkable and close to real life (flown a T6 a couple of times).

Incorrect. Third parties are being encouraged to develop 2ndWW aircraft.

As FC2 was published on DVD, it is highly likely that so will be FC3. However, I can not give any dates. Let us finish the code first!

I will let the experts answer! But I think that when running DCS on a LAN, you do not have to have a continuous internet connection. You just need a one time call via cellphone, then close the connection.

The current terrain engine can not handle the increased size of adding Crimea. We will have to wait for the new engine EDGE.

Many thanks - just what you see when you land, assuming as you start your curve, you are looking at the area of the runway threshold. Best regards Jim

Hi Toad Thank you for your efforts, but still have a problem. But please do no work on this, your video is enough! However, I would be interested for you to fly a short mission that shows a curved approach to landing and create a video that shows the pilot's view. There are many videos showing the pilot's correct perspective view of a standard long approach. But not of the pilot's perspective of a curved (carrier) approach. I think this would be of help to the community. Regards Jim

Hi Rich - if you look at the first picture I posted, you will see the lat long of that particular village. I do cheat when sightseeing! I place an object on the ground, then CTRL F11 to get a camera view and zoom around to find a place of interest. Useful for planning an area for ground ops/Air Defence.

Unfortunately in the track the P51D crashes after 40 seconds. Could be my version of the software!

Searching google for Georgia, mosques and churches, I think ED artists may have used someting similar to the attached as typical models. There are plenty of mosque models in the caucasus villages in DCS.
-
I do not know if they are of historic interest, but flying ap and down the valleys in the mountains, one can come across some interesting little villages.

Fun video. I particularly liked the carrier curved approach to the landing. For anyone displaying at Flying Legends, it is a requirement to be able to do it. I am sure everyone is comfortable with the pilot's correct perspective view of a standard approach. If you have kept the track file, it would be interesting for people to see the pilot's perspective of a curved approach.

P51D is a starting point. I am aware of 3 German AI aircraft being modelled. No details on completion dates. Similarly for 2ndWW ground units.

Nice flying, especially the carrier landing and the final wheeler landing.
