  1. @dutchili i made a mission with variables you stated. the civ took off and flew the assigned pattern. before landing approach it diverted. a couple of notes 1. if you were piloting an airliner to a friendly airfield and you discovered an unfriendly unit on the airfield, what would you do? 2. you are using a mod. mods are not supported so you getting official word from anyone is perhaps unlikely. here is my mission. KOLA_BODO_CIV.miz
  2. hello. can you share the mission?
  3. good to hear. have fun.
  4. @SharpeXB my first thought was AV too as @sleighzy suggested. another idea is to go to C:\Users\Jim\AppData\Local\Temp\ and delete the DCS folder contents. it is temp files and my folders are empty. when you retry the process it should repopulate as needed.
  5. a gaming kb such as a logitech g910 has macro buttons.
  6. i am not complaining either. DCS is a glorious sim and it continues to get better. for the maps to look as they do, there obviously needs to have some textures to back up the great visuals. enter stage right come the maps. there was a time not too long ago where Syria was the hog. at 68 GB which is half of the 4 top sized maps. seems a joke now. me getting a 4 TB would have been necessary eventually because of other games i play. so i jumped. one noticeable benefit is the increased performance of a good nvme drive half full.
  7. https://www.wbdg.org/FFC/AF/AFMAN/134465_TACAN_Air_Navigation_Station.pdf https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_high_frequency "Radio waves in the UHF band travel almost entirely by line-of-sight propagation (LOS) and ground reflection; unlike in the HF band there is little to no reflection from the ionosphere (skywave propagation), or ground wave."
  8. i feel your pain. the maps are the most intensive. i have all of them and they total 800 GB. i had my Windows and DCS on a 2 TB until recently. i got a new 4 TB and cloned the smaller drive. i should be good for a few weeks.
  9. @mla306 @Rudel_chw is spot on as always. there a GUI version based on MLINK i saw in another topic. looks promising. just in case command line is daunting for you. https://github.com/arnobpl/SymlinkCreator
  10. negative. i have that map. and i have A-10. the ultimate testers have access to all the modules.
  11. hello. try to reenact the event and get a short track. post it here. tracks are known to be faulty. hopefully the issue will be recreated.
  12. @darkman222 this is mentioned in the recent patch change log. is this same thing that is discussed in this topic? DCS 2.9.13.6818 DCS Core Added method for IR missiles seekers to react on flares before missile launch (from cockpit). Each module needs to add usage of this functionality separately. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/release/2.9.13.6818/
  13. perhaps a typo because latest is 572.47. you should post your dcs.log too as it is standard request.
  14. wie gehts. can you check that your server has correct DNS for api.digitalcombatsimulator.com? should be 185.195.197.4. Viel Glück bei deiner Arbeit. Tschüss
  15. agreed. that's the purpose of CNAME. i know there are lots of other topics in these forums caused by bad DNS just to get to the update servers. you obviously know the joke about DNS. null
  16. interesting. i came back to see the result of this topic. this morning i did more nslookup queries nslookup Default Server: dns.google Address: 8.8.8.8 > cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com Server: dns.google Address: 8.8.8.8 Non-authoritative answer: Name: 1231349722.rsc.cdn77.org Addresses: 2a02:6ea0:e200::37 2a02:6ea0:e200::17 2a02:6ea0:e200::36 109.61.91.197 109.61.91.194 109.61.91.230 Aliases: cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com > server 9.9.9.9 Default Server: dns9.quad9.net Address: 9.9.9.9 > cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com Server: dns9.quad9.net Address: 9.9.9.9 Non-authoritative answer: Name: 1231349722.rsc.cdn77.org Addresses: 2a02:6ea0:e200::17 2a02:6ea0:e200::36 2a02:6ea0:e200::37 109.61.91.198 109.61.91.231 109.61.91.194 Aliases: cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com > cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com Server: dns9.quad9.net Address: 9.9.9.9 Non-authoritative answer: Name: 1231349722.rsc.cdn77.org Addresses: 2a02:6ea0:e200::37 2a02:6ea0:e200::36 2a02:6ea0:e200::17 109.61.91.195 109.61.91.197 109.61.91.231 Aliases: cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com > cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com Server: dns9.quad9.net Address: 9.9.9.9 Non-authoritative answer: Name: 1231349722.rsc.cdn77.org Addresses: 2a02:6ea0:e200::37 2a02:6ea0:e200::36 2a02:6ea0:e200::17 109.61.91.195 109.61.91.197 109.61.91.231 Aliases: cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com > server 8.8.8.8 Default Server: dns.google Address: 8.8.8.8 > cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com Server: dns.google Address: 8.8.8.8 Non-authoritative answer: Name: 1231349722.rsc.cdn77.org Addresses: 2a02:6ea0:e200::37 2a02:6ea0:e200::36 2a02:6ea0:e200::17 109.61.91.230 109.61.91.195 109.61.91.198 Aliases: cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com > and these were all with a few seconds of each other. there are noticeable differences. even from the same servers. and a delay in the results from quad9.
  17. i do not know if it is modelled in DCS. but as an example, TACAN in DCS and real life the AC has to have LOS to the transmitter. so i am guessing LOS is also the issue in your case.
  18. nothing we do about your trust. but as far as how dns works, for most DNS lookups, the preferred protocol is UDP because it provides faster response times. TCP is used for transferring zone data from dns server to dns server. https://networkinterview.com/when-does-dns-use-tcp-or-udp/ when i began my admin journey, ip, internet, or dns was not common. when all that was introduced, i had to teach myself. i have several certifications that the exams concentrated on these technologies.
  19. is or is not? 9.9.9.9 (quad9) is protected dns for lack of a better term. what is showing in your IPCONFIG? i am not trying to bicker. all i can say is that my system does not query 9.9.9.9 according to filter capture in wireshark. and i cannot answer for ED. and i am not implying anything about your honesty. you are stating what you believe.
  20. for obvious reasons, DCS will have to respond to this statement. in my 35+ years of being a sysadmin, i have never heard of a program hard coding DNS. a lot can go wrong. but i do not know everything. i can share a post on eset forums about a similar issue. https://forum.eset.com/topic/40859-dns-stops-working-intermittently-with-eset-installed/ this implies quad9 is in your eset application. all i can say is i had no issues with anything before or after the update either.
