hello. what AV do you use and what are the exceptions? sounds like AV blocking the DLL. also upload a log. there is not much to go on with what you have shared.

first thing to check is disable your mods in case there is a conflict. also may want / need to run a repair. mods need to be updated to the latest patch level most of the time.

i regularly get a good download speed. the server is in ashburn va which is pretty close to me. i am in chesapeake va. try to restart all your equipment. restart pc.

@kiss4luna - i do not see in this thread that you have tried to restart your internet equipment. that would be another easy thing to do. eliminate that being the issue. router / modem / etc.

i had this on the day the patch was posted. i canceled my download because it was going to take a while. i restarted my computer, retried, and was back to 90+ MB/s. at the time it sure pointed to my end being the problem. in my case a restart of my PC was all that was need to get it all sorted. i suppose you could try a VPN. some other users have this same issue and VPN is used as a solution. but DCS often has issues with server overload at time of patch release.

@Spanishcop and @Darkdiz y'all jumped on a post more than a year old that was marked as resolved. you should make another post and share all your log files per normal forum procedure. @Darkdiz - your log notes lots of mods. you should disable prior to a repair. mods are known to need an update after DCS does an update.

if this is true, you have discovered a very counterintuitive problem. this is a good observation. i have seen this type statement in lots of problem reports here on the forums. now that i think about it. the stuttering happening when players are claiming different slots sounds a lot like bandwidth usage.

i had the Experience app prior to uninstalling it and going for the new nvidia app. i have seen people mention the nvidiaware causes troubles in their systems. so maybe. your hypothesis about filtering seems sound. i do not not play much MP. but i do have squadron created missions that are made for MP / CO-OP PvE. i will try one while filtering the AC types.

all of the logs show the freeze without a doubt. it is not crashing. i do not see that you said you did a repair. have you tried that?

you said nothing about loading a track. does this happen with any other server? just trying to help.

good question. i personally had an issue many moons ago with the slideshow for windows desktop. you know where you can pick anywhere to call the images and it changes at intervals? that was causing stutters. disk reads are a real problem with DCS. i do not do anything such as this when DCS is running. so makes sense but does not explain why DCS chokes. DCS is like a beautiful but crazy girlfriend.

there is also a method to have another drive, even an HDD and make a symlinks of the C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\_downloads folder. updates will go there and disappear after a successful update. Je vous souhaite à tous un joyeux Noël et une bonne année! (merci Google)

wherever the latest DCS.LOG exists is the folder you want to keep. it does not matter what the folder name is honestly. either of those folders could have a bunch of stuff you may want to keep. to be safe, post the latest DCS.LOG on your system here and i can tell from it what saved games folder you are using.

as far as i know, the file essentially tells DCS that the folder named "openalpha" in saved games is where to look for configuration. you can confirm this by running DCS and looking for the DCS.LOG that is the latest. just search the saved games folder for DCS.LOG. the other folder in saved games can safely be deleted. but make sure there are no files you will want to keep.

there is a file in the root of the DCS install folder called dcs_variant.txt. what does it say in there? i have attached mine as an example. dcs_variant.txt
