no matter what anyone thinks, this is NOT an ED issue. DNS is a basic Internet technology. you are given DNS usually via DHCP from your router. if the DNS sucks, then your connection will be a problem. Google DNS is a solution that a user can change without getting their ISP involved. it may be worth checking to see if you have exclusions in AV software for DCS program files and saved games.

i updated today at about 1350 EST and took about 22 minutes. i am in USA VA. by now it may be congested i suppose.

i have noticed one slight difference between bin and bin-mt folders. the dcs_update.exe is now only in the bin folder. my dcs default shortcut "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" i suppose if one only runs the dcs.exe then no differences.

hello. give this a try. browse to C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\config\ and rename options.lua to options.lua.BAK then restart DCS.

laxxor. you are correct. i do not have P-47 to check. but either side of the AC you look at, the bort numbers should be read from left to right. if you are seeing it backwards, then it is indeed a bug. inane one too. sometimes the bugs that arise just make me SMH.

tracks become more unreliable as duration increases. can you make a track as short as possible and see what happens? like make a mission that you are final straight on approach to carrier? btw the tracks have been relatively hosed for a long time.

i can assure you that doing none of the "magical actions" you mention, you will not correct anything. there are many people that had these issues and corrected them. there are many users that have these issues and still have them. and then there are many users like me that never had the issues. at some point you have to yield and realize that the problem could be somewhere within a radius of a meter of your computer. start a new topic and include all the logs you can get. replying to a thread that already has a solution is not helping your cause either.

hello. this will be a tough one. i definitely can see the change when you look up and then down. i see this sometimes, and not always. i have not figured out what the issue is. it does eventually just work itself out. i have a 3090. i am only guess that dcs is trying to replicate how things look with long shadows in morning and evening. and the effect is not quite perfected. i honestly do not know. i am pinging @Flappie because he has a better memory than me.

do you own supercarrier and are you using it as the carrier in your mission?

probably a dumb question. just in case here it goes. you are trying under axis right? can you screen shot the whole screen while in those settings?

unbeknown to me yesterday, there was an update. i had no issues like usual. the updater also updated itself during the initial process. it is now 2.17.3.11. you can check the properties of the updater in DCS install folder. put in a ticket to ED at https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/ then pick support, user support from top menu.

good work. so it seems the issue is VR. questions. is there a way to test the headset on another game? here is where temp folder is. %LOCALAPPDATA%\TEMP\DCS just paste that into URL in file explorer

i do not see it mentioned to test your hardware. i suggest to strip as much external hardware from your rig as possible to see if a component is causing the issue. reattach them one by one to see if the issue comes back. if you cannot get through a mission without a crash, then it is something deeper. if so, test memory. i always suggest taking out the dimms and reseat them. maybe they are just a little loose now. also move them to opposite slots. and take half of them out. see if a specific dimm is bad. another idea is to run chkdsk. lastly remove any overclocking from ram and gfx. even factory overclock. if windows is 'killing' the dcs process, there is likely a hardware issue. oh and this was an issue with some other users. check your power supply. even to the point of plugging directly to wall socket. @Flappie and @MAXsenna will remember this fun one. keep at it. we will figure this out.

officially it is the other way around. ST is what is being deprecated. currently the DCS.exe in both folders are the same. look in the same folder you got the DCS.LOG from and grab the latest zip file. it will be named similar to dcs.log-20241001-214432.zip. it will be named with a date code.
