do either of you do any upsampling or downsampling? are you getting a screenshot from DCS utility or print screen or nvidia, or something else? it sounds to me that the actual windows image is not being captured properly and somehow affecting the resolution. like the days of windows not making the correct resolution of an attached monitor. and the screen would be fuzzy.

devils advocate talking now. i have spent many years online gaming and have also been admin. i have never been banned. i have never personally banned anyone. if i had, it would been a major transgression. but it was my server. it was my money paying for the server. i certainly would not have cared whether there was a "common sense gaming industry policy." who wrote the policy? who voted for it to make it a standard? i know i did not. who cares either way? my thought is if you did something to get you banned from a server, then that is between you and the server admins. ED has nothing to say in the matter either way.

speed 2.5 KB/s is really bad. even if you can get the updater to behave, getting the patch downloaded is going to take a long time.

have you tried to rename the DCS folder in Saved Games folder? make it .bak or something. then start the game and immediately exit. a new folder will be created. then you can copy the input folder from the bak folder. then restart DCS. you also mentioned that you quit the mission and go back to mission editor. have you tried to totally exit to the main menu. then go into mission editor? sorry i am reaching here.

i am thinking you are having a hardware error. do you have any overclocking on RAM or video card? i see the RestService.exe process is crashing too. see if you can disable it for testing.

i am unsure if this issue has been officially acknowledged. but in another post, someone turned off secondary shadows to alleviate the issue a bit. Self and Cast (Umbra and Penumbra) shadows are hard to replicate. also try to lower quality of the shadows. but i agree the shadows in DCS are a bit odd.

hello. DCS is not showing a crash in the logs as you mentioned. there are lots of shader errors which may a symptom. have you looked in window event viewer for something occuring at the same time as the DCS stops working? also share the offending mission. others can try it to see what happens.

adding RAM will help. go for as much as you can afford. if you are an MP player get at least 64. also your AV may be blocking some files. exclude all dcs folder in main folder and saved games.

you would have to go through the change logs i guess. but i do not think it will show what OS is supported per patch.

not a pride thing for me. but a helper getting credit for a resolution shows the helper is not necessarily full of it.
