  1. With regards to the F-18 Comms Menu not appearing in flight, in Multiplayer: I deleted the Autoexec.cfg in the Saved Games folder, no joy. Still having the issue. Is there another something to try?
  2. Still fly's great today boys! Slay on wit'ch yo bad self! Drop em, shoot em, missile 'em you steely-eyed missile men. Christmas isn't cancelled - fly em if you got em! :pilotfly:
  3. Bump This Up! This is a debilitating issue for multirole missions, rearming, airfield divert, and a host of reasons Carrier Aircraft take off on Carriers and land on airfields. Niggling items like this that reoccur along with TACAN disappearing, Planes sliding on the deck, Spawn Point issues/overlap/exploding planes, PLEASE WAIT spawn issues, Trap Wires stuck on hooks, broken/inaccurate/delayed ATC responses, help cause such an uproar in the community over new features before repairing existing ones. Also seriously degrades the confidence in a payware carrier from the quality expectation standpoint. I believe some serious attention to these continuing issues needs to be considered by ED.
  4. Not at all that I mind the EA WIP process. If there were stages of capability rather than completeness, the total cost of an aircraft would be higher (added revenue), yet users could choose their level of investment. Pay to play but less exclusive than it might otherwise be. Functionality at levels rather than as we've had with the Hornet. You want the whole thing - here's your price. Less, here's what you can get. Partly too I think these aircraft, systems, and (most but not all) flight models are worth more than we generally pay. Yup - I think it's a bargain. To get more functionality in ATC, Comms, fixed issues, you name it, I'd pay more via the models and capabilities to fund it. I suspect they aren't fixed today because it's a balance of new/funding to old/maintenance. Guess what wins? Because what's broken today isn't getting fixed quickly, and if it's money stopping the progress, then here - take my money. Now let's move forward.
  5. Good News!!
  6. Balance and Choices Voicing my own preference for the jet(s). I would pay $150 per for a completed Jet with selectable era weapons systems. Rather than pay much less for a WIP, EA, or limited capability platform. I'm saying that as an option, I would take it if multiple levels of an aircraft were available. Certainly has implications beyond my preference statement, game balance, etc. I believe the platforms we have (well not all of them) are worth more than what we seem to pay.
  7. That was probably a bit snarky on my part. Remaining valid points are worth a poke.
  8. How do we go from "Every player on an MP server, even if you only fly Air Force planes has to own it" to "FREE". That's not the sentiment I read, for the most part, we expect to pay for features. Ones we can actually USE. First off, fix what doesn't work on the MP Stennis, including spawns, space for F-14's to spawn without killing each other, Communications, Tacan, etc. Good list to complete there. But to say you're fixing all that (add some extra eye candy and a canned ATC) and calling the fix Payware and making it a PayWall for MP? Doesn't really make sense either if that's what you're trying to say. It is NOT the same as a map where everyone plays across levels of aircraft and services in the DCS World. MP all you want, just don't mix Air Force, ground attack, JTAC, field ATC, with a fully functional carrier, or everyone pays. That's what makes no sense at all Wags.
  9. Add me to the list, please! Who needs Kickstarter when you have us... lol
  10. Looking forward to the F-14 and voice command for Jester. It will be epic! Thanks for the update video and additional "How To" info. Your description of what the purpose of something is along with examples makes this an easier setup process. Also more likely to use advanced features.
  11. Nuff said... Fly it - it rocks.
  12. Love to see this moved up and added to the short list. It can't be hard to drop that into the correct plane of the display. Extremely annoying and unusable in VR.
  13. Have second that post.... Hopefully a quick fix for this one.
  14. Flight Model is Everything It looks pretty, seems well laid out. Multi-Player is definitely a huge plus. My interest will be set in the flight model. An iffy-flight model on a pretty plane just won't do. I'm very much looking forward to the reviews by RL pilots regarding the behavior and responses. There are several high time RL Aerobatic pilots around DCS who can give keen insight as to the behavior relative to RL and simulation. Which isn't the same as the numbers matching the performance specs. My continued disappointment with the Eagle Dynamics produced prop plane flight models, especially the P-51D and Yak, makes me a skeptic from experience. RL pilots continue to bemoan the mess the current Mustang and Yak flight models are, yet no real change in either has occurred in DCS. I'm very hopeful this team is capable of a much better product! Given the MiG 21 I do expect this team can produce a better product than we've gotten from the DCS team in prop planes. My Perspective: I will pay more for a more accurate flight model rather than pay less for a sooner available less capable product. Hence, not a pre-purchase for me - let's see the product shine!!!
  15. This is a hard thread to read. :book: I'm hoping through all of this, it's become clear to =DECOY= that pretty much a large portion of the Harrier/RAZBAM customer community is simply asking for communications about that which has changed, (with respect to the RAZBAM Harrier), and was pushed out through the sim as each updated release is sent via the typical every-two-week update from ED for the Open Beta. I don't at all read this as a demand for increased physical changes to the aircraft on a weekly basis. A "Change Log" simply lists the changed function or functions which were included in the immediate release that differs from the feature state in the previous release. This is what has just occurred, not what will be in the future state. It is not unreasonable at all to expect that coders and feature engineers are tracking their changes and tracking the expected state of that change/feature from release to release. That's a basic discipline of the job frankly, and not doing so can be a fast track to chaos as a coder. In fact, a Change Log would help us, the "Beta Testers", return better insight and to effect better functional testing of those changes by exercising the systems impacted by these logged changes. In turn, helping said software engineering staff squash bugs more quickly. Things can only get better from here, incremental change takes a while, and we aren't the most patient bunch though we can learn to be. Communication at this level will go a long way to keeping the partnership intact. Thanks for wading into all these challenges =Decoy=, we know it's not easy.
  16. How is a reinstall accomplished? This isn't a standard install application as far as I can tell... Just via the Control Panel/Apps And nothing extra? Standard uninstall via control panel, reinstall didn't work for me. No shaker for A-4E. There might be more to this then. ***UPDATE*** Yes, a second uninstall/Reinstall DID work. A-4E functions under the GENERIC JET setting just fine.
  17. Thanks guys! - this is a fun mod! Great little scooter - this'll be fun for quite a while! Much appreciate the love sweat and tears getting this one done!
  18. Thank you NineLine! Hope it's going well and on track for Autumn. Regards.
  19. ED posted on Facebook on 13 July 2018 a strong comment regarding the DCS 2.5+ Dedicated Server being released in the Autumn of 2018. Has there been any news or can anyone update the arrival status of this much-needed core feature? Thanks! Taken from Facebook DCS World Newsletter - 13 JULY 2018 With the launch of 2.5 earlier this year, we have been working diligently on an item we’ve been wanting to bring to DCS World for quite a long time: a dedicated server. It, however, was not until the launch of DCS World 2.5 was this possible, and hence the length of time this has taken. As a dedicated server, the software will not require any graphics rendering, so no dedicated graphics card will be required and there is no audio requirement. This all greatly reduced server load overhead. There will be a new web GUI to control the server. Operation of the dedicated server through the web GUI will operate much as the existing online server does now, but allow you to make changes remotely. We plan to release the dedicated server in Autumn 2018. Afterward, we will investigate adding additional features to expand its capability. Sincerely, The Eagle Dynamics Team
  20. Excellent! Welcome, happy to have you and looking forward to what comes next!
  21. Nice job team! The externals sound great, are what you would expect and the quality is top notch. I'm looking forward to more from this team. Hopefully, internals and peripheral sounds are on the way!
  22. +1 Cannot redeem or enter the Serial Number on ED site.
  23. For landing, I just turn off the EW. Part of cockpit cleanup and before landing checklist. In the absence of a declutter switch that's about it. Though the new modes noted are promising for less mess on the HUD.
  24. That's actually good to hear! I hope you are rested and recreated when you return!
