  1. I´m not saying that it doesn´t happen, I´m just saying that it is harder to get into, than what we experience in DCS. Especially the Mi-8 is very prone to got into VRS. The German colonel just told me that it isn´t something that happens very often, because it´s hard to get into using normal helicopter flight procedures.
  2. If You delete You fx/metaschaders2 cache files, then the artifacts will appear. It will look right until then, but only until the next DCS patch where the shaders are deleted during the install.
  3. I did so, but not without artifacts, like missing text for the parking brake and air vents handles, missing yellow stripes arounf the Fire extinguisher hndles and so on. I guess we need someone like Taz or Devrim to properly resize the textures, since my way (simply cutting the size down to half the size) doesn´t work very well. I cannot understand why developers make such choises. There isn´t really a need for such big texture sizes when the Simultaor engines isn´t better optimised as it is now. Why keep people on mid levels PC systems from having a good experience, just for being able to make some great static screenshots. I even consider my system to be above mid level, but still have issues - at least in VR.
  4. With the massive Cockpit texture size, You GPU will run out of VRAM, especially in VR, and then it will start using system RAM, which are much slower, thus the bad FPS. Try to lower Textures to Medium, cause that will almost half Your VRAM usage with little graphics quality loss - in VR more or less unrecognizable.

  6. I think that only the Mid hook works for now, so set the Hook selector to Mid and the Cargo Hook MSTR Switch to arm. Then open the Hook release Guard on the stick and press The Hook Release Button on the stick. Be sure to have lowered the Cargo down on the ground.
  7. Thats exactly what I did, but f.ex the text for the Parking brake and vents is now black. I guess Your filesize became appr. 0.49GB or so.
  8. It will clear the Master warning light, but not the WCA.
  9. Setting Textures to Medium fixes it for me with very low impact on graphics fidelity, but having 4 or 8K textures in the cargo compartment is overkill and totally unnecessary. Look how gorgeously the F-4E looks and that with almost have the texture size and in two cockpits (WSO & Pilot)
  10. Could You please tell me how You reduced the textures ? With my reduction methos, there are quite some artifacts. Solution for me until further is to set "Textures=Medium" (Not Terrain textures !!), seems to cut down VRAM usage quite alot with only minor Cockpit texture quality loss.
  11. I have reduced the texture sizes for all the ,argest textures and bought the cimplete packed size down to 0.5GB and performance is now good. I have very few artifacts with these reduced textures, so I will try to be a bit more conservative by only reducing the cargo compartment textures and see what that brings. Stay tuned.....

  13. Unpacked the CH-47F Cockpit textures are 4.86 GB - thats quite insane. Even the Heatblur F-4E combined WSO and Pilot Cockpit textures does not surpas 2.9 GB.
  14. For me the CH-47F runs like crap on my Quest 3. No problem with the F-4E 80 FPS (The chosen Oculus refresh rate). Also the AH-64D runs great. Maybe the Cockipt textures for the CH-47F are too large. The AH-64D Cockpit textures are 1.3 GB while the CH-47F are 3.5 GB !!

  16. VRS is mostly overdone in DCS - probably for gameplay reasons. I once talked with a German army UH-1D instructor, who told that You would not enter VRS without purpose, and it needs to be heavy and either in hot or high conditions.

  18. In one of my AH-64D Syria missions, with 2x AH-64D and 6 Opfor ground units, loading into the sim takes 3 mins, where before it took maybe 10 secs. Texture loading seems to be causing this. It’s as if the there isn’t any kind of caching going on, because it’s not just a one time occuring issue, but happens each time I load the mission.
  19. I have been using the Openxr Toolkit for quite a long time and been very happy with it. With the new update though - and it might be placebo, I feel that the sim runs a tad smoother with OXRTK disabled. I don´t use foveated rendering, nor any other tweaks, apart from CAS and at some time Turbo mode, so it´s not a bif miss, but still I liked the option to adjust brightness, contrast and colors, as well as using the sunglasses. This is on a Quest 3. I do hope that ED will take Mbucchia serious this time for the Quad View implementation, all though I don´t use it. I think he knows alot more about VR stuff than ED, so why not take advantage of his competances in order to make the customers happy.
  20. Yep I know But now it's not just e one time occurence, but happens with any subsequent loading into the Map.
  21. Loading into the Syria map takes a long time before being stable. I spawn in the AH-64D, but the it seems that the sim starts loading textures, which takes a very long time. During this time FPS flucturates between 3 an 30 FPS and only become stable after appr. 30 sec or so. I have cleared the fxo and Metashader cache as well as the Nvidia Caches's and tried serveral times, but getting stable FPS after loading is still taking a long time. Note that this is in VR with a Meta Quest 3 and I did not have this issue before the update.
  22. After entering a number, click a different line f.ex behind 30_ . I don´t think entered numbers are taken into account before doing that.
  23. After using the F10 map - Alt Tab out of DCS ("Window out of focus" message appears), then Alt Tab into DCS again and Video memory will be restored.
  24. Welll then is good that we ALL are just playing a game - which DCS is at the end. Please don´t come with this "I´m a Fighter pilot by attitude, practise and knowldge - they just never gave me a real airplane to fly". Ed is a businees, we are the customers. DCS is a flying game and we are Gamers at the very end.
