solved HUD almost impossible to see in VR
broderbund67 replied to broderbund67's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have done that. I understand the day and night HUD mode are not implemented but currently at max brightness this is not enough. -
The current brightness and contrast of the HUD make it almost invisible against the horizon or clouds. I am using VR and cannot fly this plane due to this issue. The other modules are OK
-
Is it still working? I personally cannot get it to track the laser

Thanks for the reply, no worries, your sound mod it already great! I was just wondering if there was something I was missing in shutdown sequence of the mirage like an other device spooling down after engine shutdown but couldn't find anything.
-
Hi @sedenion, Thank you for you sound mod it really enhance the experience! For some reason I seem two get two engine shutdown sound when I turn the engine off. I get a first shutdown sound playing then the engine spools down and gets silent for couple seconds and then I get another shutdown sound. Any idea why it is doing that? Thanks!

Any news on this? It is still not working

Did they model some of the big batteries Near Calais? Thinking about battery Todt in Haringzelle and battery Lindemann in Sangatte

Here is a cool website to check old airfields, linked is Mardyck but you can find most of the airfields from the Normandy and channel map: https://www.forgottenairfields.com/airfield-mardyck-1060.html

Ok, thank you for your reply!

Does the map comes with any ww2 assets or do you need the WW2 asset pack?

I am using one of the 4 ways hat on my throttle as mouse binding (right, left click and scroll up and down). It is very convenient in VR because I can click anywhere in the cockpit by just looking at it and keeping my hand on the Hotas. My only issue is that the scroll up and down functions are single increments which makes setting the altimeter, floodlight knobs... a long process . Is there a way to click and hold scroll up so it keep incrementing? For example in the f18, to set the bingo, you can left click and hold on the bingo increment button and it keeps increasing the value. Thanks

Flying around in the f16 at dusk into the night... it was pretty awesome in VR.
-
I was looking at it in VR, seems that there is still some work to do on the 3D model. Example: The wheel bay lack some details.

On this video (most likely super hornet) the "In range" cue comes at 1.3nm from the target 12deg dive.

For those interested this is how the intake looks: Super Hornet but same

I tried this again and it is clearly linked to the fuel quantity in the wing external fuel tanks. After flying for a while and monitoring the ext fuel tank quantity, the left roll disappear as soon as the tanks are empty. For some reason it is not doing it when air starting
-
Hi Matt, See track attached. The plane is loaded with fuel tanks only. Beginning of the flight is low altitude level flight, no issues. Then going up, the plane is creeping slowly left without any input. As the flight goes, the roll rate amplifies. I hope it helps and thanks for the F-16! Roll left.trk

Hi BIGNEWY. It depends on the weather wind speed. See track attached I have 20 knots of wind at 33ft. It is kind of hard to hear but the speed brake sound effect kicks in when I deploy the speed brake while the aircraft is still. With higher wind speed the sound effect gets louder. No sure whether it is intended behavior or not. speed brake sound.trk
-
While stopped with engine on, deploying the speed brake will start playing a rumble sound. We should only be able to ear that once the plane reach a significant speed

I did many testing with different load outs and in my opinion it is linked to the wing fuel tanks. I don't know if it is fuel imbalance or drag coefficients. Every time I climbed to 20,000ft and accelerated to approx. Mach 1. Issue only appears with wing fuel tanks. The left wing tend to dip with them
-
Did some testing, it seems that with two fuel tanks, the left wing has a tendency to dip. Using the trim to compensate will make it impossible to equalize back. A clean aircraft will fly perfectly straight without needing trim
-
-
Same here it is difficult to trim level. It will always tend to go left or right a little bit and the trim is not fine enough to correct. At the begining I thought it was a deadzone problem on my joystick. I don't know how it is in real life though, maybe you can never get it right either.

Agreed, the sounds are awesome, so immersive. Being able to ear the engine is also very useful for formation flying, landing and taxiing.

I am also having trouble reading the MFD's without leaning forward with an occulus Rift S and PD at 1.3. I don't know if it is the reflection on the MFD screen or a lack of contrast. It is not really enjoyable as is. I see that some of you have no problem at all so I'll keep tweaking my settings
