Having a similar problem, but it was not after last nights patch, had it on the weekend. When I designate target, the HUD flashes the diamond and drop line for an instant and then its gone. WP is then deselected as if it had worked but no target. Over the weekend I just cycled Maser Arm and WP and it worked, last night I could not get it to show the target no matter what I tried. I thought it might have been the WP altitude, over the weekend, the mission I was playing had the TGT WP at flying latitude, checked the mission again last night and the TGT was at ground level so was not that.

Bloody fantastic!!! Guess who has been reading up on DCS-BIOS RS485 all morning. I am confident with the Arduino but this little bit is going over my head. Do you have a post about your A-10 "sensing" panel? I thought about the idea of detecting what plane is running in DCS to set what code to use, but yeah, that one flew right over my head in a big way also.

There is a great Mod by Rackham that has a scale on it. Nice to trim AoA so you can get the trim in the same place all the time. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3300978/

These are flipping awesome. As a noob to DCS-BIOS (and DCS really) I have been printing up little boxes of all shapes and sizes, putting in my switches, setting up the Arduino only to realise I don't like the layout or something. This solution looks like the answer to a lot of these sorts of problems. Hope you don't mind me asking so I can try understand this more. You have the main big box, that holds your Mega, this is your Master. Each little module box, has a Nano and your chosen switch layout. So one module box could be for some Hornet switches. Another module box could be for the Huey switches and you can just switch them out if you feel for. Or you can just decide to change the program on a Nano to suit what you want those switches to do. That is genius. Currently I have to boxes, one with a Mega and one with a Uno. They are each connected to their own COMM port and if I want to switch Planes, I have to upload the right sketch to each Arduino. Bit of a pain really and sure it could be improved, a whole lot.

The Hornets' Nest - F/A-18C campaign
TechRoss replied to bovsam's topic in User Created Missions General
Thanks for this one, been flying mission 1 for a couple days trying different things. Having a issue when returning to the carrier, so far 6 out of 8 times, one of the Hornets on deck is on the landing deck. First time I did not see it till the last minute and boom. [/url] Might have to remove the bugger in the ME. Any tips for getting the Wingman to engage the targets. He responds and then just follows me around. Would be nice to inflict more damage that the little I can do alone. Once again, thanks for this. -
Guide - Enhancing head movement on TrackIR
TechRoss replied to Rudel_chw's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I was just thinking on Sunday how can get closer to my dash. Gonna try this out as soon as I get home tonight. Thanks a mill for the effort. -
Ahh, yeah didnt think about that. Very new to the ME still a ton to learn.

I am assuming this is so you have troops to deploy at target on landing? You could setup a trigger at the landing to spawn in the troops when you touch down, should give you a similar effect to disembarking troops.

Which radio are you using, there are two? Set your freq in game and test that. Pull the comm button out, then enter your tower freq in the UFC, press enter, and try see what happens. What keystrokes are you using to bring up the menu? (I have them bound to HOTAS so can't remember them offhand, but I think it is something like Left Alt+\ for left radio 1 and right Alt+\ for radio 2)

Rack Launcher vs Stores in Selective Jettison Swtich
TechRoss replied to GrEaSeLiTeNiN's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
They call that the Admirals doorbell. You press that button, you will be paying a visit to the Admiral to explain yourself. -
Before latest update, was doing the change myself to get just a dot. Newest update you can choose this now. Yeah I use labels, not the greatest pilot, and have bad eyes (recovering from 2 eye surgeries this month) so I use them. I figure if I am battling to see the enemy, especially on the ground, then I am getting frustrated. I am in here to have fun so I turn them on and have fun. With the Hornet, it is hard enough to try and hit things on the ground, even with a cluster.

Wasn't that not for the Hog? Don't remember one for the Hornet. There is a post under one of the Helios threads where somebody shows you how to change font thickness and RGB, that might point you in the right direction. Will try add link when on my PC later today. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

This could become a huge topic. As a 3D printer / designer myself, I would suggest splitting things up a little. Maybe a thread for people sharing their designs, you can download and print. Then a thread to discuss design of items that people are looking for or busy with. If anybody has any specific 3D printing questions, they can ask away, I will be happy to try answer them as best I can.

For the Harrier it is just so they can get in and takeoff, no worries. (Sorry not had coffee yet)

Mission Accomplished but Die in the Replay
TechRoss replied to boo_n_817's topic in User Created Missions General
Do you use DCS-BIOS? I find if I use my switch box with DCS-BIOS, the replay gets very confused. -
Mmmmm well been pulling G's all afternoon, fascinated. He he. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

i am not sure if I am only just noticing this, but I am sure it was not like this before, the Hornets wings flex under G. Looks so good and then the new vapor kicks in. Is this something from the patch or was I just not looking very well.

FA-18C difficulty in the internal management of the cockpit
TechRoss replied to Mudeagle's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Another fantastic option - https://delanengineering.com/ -
I have seen this a couple times in the last week or so, not just in this campaign (in fact I don't think I had the problem in this one). I normally make sure my mouse is in this screen if that makes sense, not on some other app or something by clicking on something in the cockpit to make 100% sure. I then pull the comms button out (I am sure that is not the correct technical term). I actually have it mapped to my HOTAS so push a button in, but it shows what channel it is on, and then I scroll a channel forward or back a bit and then back to the channel I want.
-
Fantastic, thanks so much. Can't wait to get home now and take a look.

Anybody got a seat in Fusion that they are willing to share? I would love to build a seat but not to do a full cockpit.

There was a similar post to this on Reddit the other day. They guys were saying Google Text to speech or hire voice actors (they provided a place to do this). Some guys actually offered to help. Unfortunately I can seem to find it which makes me think it might have been on here, maybe in the mission editor section. Will edit if I find the link. (Sorry first day back at work it a while) Edit: The post was actually in the Mission Builders Corner if you still want it. Free text to Speach

Are the launch bar and hook bypass switches magnetically held?
TechRoss replied to 98abaile's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I don't think so. You have to move them manually. If you look at the launch bar switch, once hooked in you should put it to the up position so that after launch it is up. Would think if it was magnetic it would spring back itself. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk -
Nope you have to cycle thru. You are able to setup shortcut keys / favourites. I can't remember the keys because I don't use them. Have a look at the keyboard bindings Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
