  1. lol... SAE/ Whitworth/ Metric threads and Imperial/ Metric nut/ bolt heads - its enough to do the head in :)
  2. is the JoyRange.cfg file in the Config Folder still applicable? does this adjust the "throw range" of the stick? it contains 1 (only) entry: JoyRange = 400
  3. Turn Threaded Optimisation to OFF, it will clean them up even further :)
  4. does nothing in reality... try to relax the pushing and advertising of it (keep in mind, that if your hard earned is in their account - they're making interest off that, so even when refunded, they are still making something from the transaction. Its not the "fix all" panacea which some claim)
  5. veering left is induced through "torque" in a prop plane, jets have no "torque" as such... they just push forward - if the steering off centre (or the brakes catching on one side or the other [slow speed] rudder engaged at high speed ), the line is off which leads to a question... both/ all engines are firing, aren't they? and we're still waiting for control assignment screenshots ;)
  6. this is the age old YOU CANNOT COMPARE ONE GAME'S PERFORMANCE TO ANOTHER SIMULATOR's... its the same as comparing chalk to cheese or apples to oranges (I don't mean to shout, I'm just going for clarity) With your PC's specs you need to state (along with that which has been listed) the mobo (even though I see it has been listed later in the thread) and operating system being used and where your DCS installation has been directed to. The hard part is, some systems are better than others... and even though the current engine is aged - it will still make some systems go wobbly at the knees and cry if the settings are fully maxed out I have a reasonably high end system and can't run "maxed out" You need to "experiment a bit" with your game settings and system settings - you know "tweak", and then bearing in mind, there are some anomalies, which are present (and acknowledged) which exist with regard the airports and towns
  7. hey man, that's a really nice presentation... bravo! :)
  8. guys... its in test phase, they have full control of how and when - its a beta fcol, not the fully fledge you beaut buy it off the shelf( so to speak (yes, yes, yes, I know about the deal) ) product They will have bits locked down, they will get your system ready if you've gone the "preview" (background download) route or signed up (and they are also not unknown to have launched a dodgy update or two in their time) all of this is made clear before the (user) "lowering the finger onto the button" happens
  9. the whole plate is livening up... Yellowstone
  10. H-Ym8WDw-ik
  11. Given the fact that I'm not a WWII fighter pilot, as many of us here are not either... it would seem that Cruise" and "Combat" are two different worlds... very draining it would be for a pilot to have work at the stick to maintain level flight in a cruise situation, but trimming getting in the way of acm combat Trim came about, eventually, to reduce the pilots' workload whilst cruising (in getting to the combat arena, the pilot wants to conserve his own personal energy as much as possible - so that when the whatsit hits the Westinghouse, the pilot wants to be in as fresh a condition as possible to avail his/ her skills to tackle the adversaries' ACM skills)- having to hold the stick and rudder in a certain position to maintain level cruise flight and relieving the pilots' workload in achieving that... meanwhile, when in combat, the pilot is working that stick, driving those pedals and riding that throttle
  12. [ lead in to question ] the story regarding VGA cards and their settings and support for the sim, or indeed vga/ Dx version itself, is understood with research... ie, on my machine, I find it best to set AA and Aniso etc to Application Controlled and turn Auto Threading/ Buffering OFF (just to keep the lead in simple) for the current DCS version [ / lead in ] How do the various card properties Settings affect the running of the new engine?
  13. dllhost exe , Thumbnail preview enabled and a dodgy image file on the desktop?
  14. hey... settle down Holbeach - there's absolutely no need for that kind of response. That's entirely inappropriate For the un-initiated, there's a truck load of information supplied in the accompanying Flight Manual, which is well worth the studying - its what (not all) but many (a few) of us have done.. we've studied the manual, we've studied the relevant 'tubes, we've looked also to how the AI go about it. ya can come high. low or in the middle "on beam", its a balance between throttle/ pitch, vvi , pipper and if available - > Glide Scope indicators All the information you need, is in the manual, on the 'Tube and AI example
  15. put the pipper on the patch and adjust throttle to suit, in a nutshell if the pipper is sliding up (towards the far end of the runway), throttle back... if its sliding down (towards the grassy end closest to you), throttle up. the pipper tells you where your nose is going and then the there is the ^ 0 v symbol (US planes) if its on the 0, you're doin' fine Landing is inverse to flying - if your flaps are down, throttle controls height (with regard to glide scope) and pitch controls speed ( with regard to landing speed, regarding glide scope)
  16. With that, I agree with you totally ;)
  17. Ni'hao c000005 errors, indicate a memory/USB problem... if the same error persists, there is cause for concern. random errors, which don't repeat consistently, are just that - random errors Also, it helps to for you to post your PC spec into your signature, or at the least, supply your PC specs with your originating post
  18. if you could post up some screenshots of the plane's controls settings, from the Options/ Controls section, that may help eliminate, at least ?
  19. If commands are at default, you have conflicts... which is why you're experiencing weird thingies. You need to select the plane (and sim/ game selection) from the drop and go through and clear out, then reassign your stick/ throttle/ pedals etc... then check all the way for double/ triple cross entries
  20. what is your motherboard (and Operating System)? ... a 77 series chipset perhaps?
  21. I actually don't mind (what I've seen) of the solution... its elegant, covers all stations from standard to better, to(whatever floats your boat :) ) unrealistic and doesn't make the target bigger than it really is
  22. I have to agree... 3D, is the "duck's whatsits" and an effective way of achieving this, is a game changer
  23. FSX isn't DCS (comparing apples to oranges)... and, sorry to say, but your Intel HD is the onboard CPU graphics which SkateZilla mentioned - its not a "card" it is part of the CPU itself and as such it is lightweight, designed for running office apps and keeping I.T. costs down
