  1. And have failed to procure a scout, and thus the Apache being pressed into service in the Cavalry squadrons for an armed reconnaissance role. Still flabbergasted at how the ARH program failed.
  2. That's more or less our (the community's) fault. We are easily distract by the new shinny and allow ED to not finish anything because we eat up "Early Access" being a catch all excuse to put out half-finished modules and not get back to them for a few years.
  3. I wish I had the electrical knowledge to build my own stick.
  4. Not really realistic at the moment. That is to say there is more work to the SCAS to be done.
  5. Maybe save it for a US Air Force What-if Apache livery?
  6. The pilot in this picture has an Air National Guard patch.
  7. Problem is, we aren't flying with control setups that are exactly the same as what's in the real bird. Most of us have return to center flightsticks and pedals. Not everyone has a floor mounted stick. Not everyone has the latest top of the line stick. Curve editing exists for a reason in the game/
  8. And again, people missing the point. But then again, I'm capable of taking off the rose-tinted glasses.
  9. Oh. Guess I should pay more attention to some of the systems. Thanks.
  10. Question: Page 4 under VMC Section. What is "DI"?
  11. No, it's delaying until it's more feature complete, more enjoyable, and more user friendly (you know, like games should be). It's not that people can't hover, it's more difficult than it needs to be. Like I mentioned before, Casmo demonstrated this by becoming task saturated and almost crashing. But I will mention other modules had simple things like hold channels at launch. But, if you'd rather excuse questionable decision making... I prefer to hold developers accountable for such. More DCS users should. Otherwise, the cycle of "release half finished aircraft and get back to it in a year or two while we work on the next release of an incomplete aircraft" will continue ad nauseum.
  12. It's a known issue. George is a work in progress.
  13. Maybe share it incase someone in the future has the same problem...
  14. Has nothing to do with a crutch and everything to do with practicality. Casmo inadvertently demonstrated this when he almost crashed while trying to do several things at once. The Apache seems to settle into power quite easily, and the collective is extremally sensitive and almost requires constant inputs, no matter how small. Casmo was doing all this while also engaging targets, looking for the enemy, directing the CPG etc. Almost ended up in a fiery crash. Then it should have been delayed another month or two. They already had the preorder money. I'm sure the community would understand, given they'd be getting a more functioning product.
  15. I guess Greek Apaches hang their gyros.
  16. Your kneeboard as waypoint info (which one is 1,2,3, etc.) as well as location.
  17. There is a sort of cheat method someone posted on youtube. Involves using the CPG cursor on the TSD, and moving the TSD cursor (as pilot) over that to create a point.
  18. Semantics argument. So now we clowning people for wanting stuff that's on the aircraft that is being modeled?
  19. I've wondered about that as well. I can't speak for the SCAS on the Apache, but on the Black Hawk, Trim Release really only affect the FPS (Flightpath Stabilization) so it doesn't fight your attempts to change attitude and heading. The SAS 1 and SAS 2 still work to dampen your inputs within its control authority. In DCS, seems like stability and hold are all rolled up into one system and all are disabled when trim is pressed. However, I don't know what those other helicopters' systems are like.
  20. Can we get a picture or something?
  21. The early access release has some mind boggling choices. Lack of a hover hold and a functioning attitude hold, to start with. Not to mention the robbie tank and gimping the amount of rounds we can carry.
  22. No one would make that comparison. A better example would be a contemporary: like F-16 vs F-22. Or better yet, Su-35 and F-22.
  23. Waiting on my interceptor pedal to arrive. Depends on your preference. The interceptor pedals are something you'd find in military aircraft (you push with the arch of the foot, rather than the whole foot). In modern aircraft where you basically keep your feet on the floor for most of the flight, allows to just slip your feet on the pedals.
  24. I’m jot sure there is a difference in DCS (someone please correct me if I’m wrong). I think you’re good just to map the second detent and ignore the first (like the laser). Or vice versa if I have that backwards, lol.
  25. I’m assuming hovering problems will go away when ALT and ATT hold are implemented fully.
