Is there any way to tell the max range for MAVs?
Ironhand replied to dlder's topic in A-10A for DCS World
That’s really weird. I quoted that text in an earlier post and I just realized that the post isn’t there. Evidently I never actually pressed “Submit Reply”. Anyway, you really should make a bug report. -
Manual Dive Bombing Rips Off Wings on SU-25T
Ironhand replied to Letusg345's topic in Su-25T (Free with DCS World)
Unfortunately I’m away from my computer for the next few days and can’t check. I suspect, though, that you might be diving to steeply. The best thing would be to upload a short track of what’s happening. Then it’ll be easier to tell whether it’s a bug or inexperience. -
Until ED gets around to some of those improvements, you might want to look into this, if you’re not already aware of it:

@skypickle, these are old but I still have folks telling me that they are extremely helpful. You might want to give them a look:

FC3 MIG Variants - Aircraft and Control Profiles
Ironhand replied to zippydoda's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
MiG-29C(S) are the same variant. It’s just a matter of whether the Cyrillic “C” or English “S” is used to describe it. Is there really just a generic MiG-29 listed in the ME? Guess I’ve never noticed it. AFAIK, .diff.lua is assigned to the profile you save manually (other than clicking “OK”). At least that’s how it seems. When you load that profile, that’s what you’ll get until you either change it or make alterations. -
acknowledged MK-82/84 AIR/SNAKEEYE release speed limits

The whole concept of DCS is elitist. So why not ask for the proper weapon limitations? -
The apron, I assume.

As draconus notes, keep it short. Track playback accuracy also depends on the aircraft you’re flying. With FC3 aircraft, I seldom see an incorrect SP track playback until there’s a major sim update. -
That would be true, I think.

You know, it almost looks like some sort of mounting bracket. Piece of detailed debris from new damage modeling?

From the manual pg 53: And that’s how it used to be. If it’s changed, then that’s a problem and you should report it as a bug as well as the range launch issues for each missile. You’ll need to provide a short track file for each issue. EDIT: I haven’t looked into it myself but I suspect that the launch range is most probably limited by the seeker rather than the rocket motor. Something to consider, if you decide to report the bug. -

The thing to do would be to provide a short track file of the misbehavior and provide that along with documentation of how it should behave. Without that, I doubt anything will be done. -
If you study this mod, I imagine you'll find the answer to your question: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3325726/

One thing is certain. There is no possibility of a dynamic campaign until the AI undergoes some serious repair.

The constellations are there but, no, they are not right for the date. IIRC, they are right for mid-June (you can only see Orion setting around sunset in the sim during the sim’s deep winter months)—for the northern hemisphere skies at least. At least that was the case the last time I looked. I’ve never checked the S Atlantic map to see what’s there. Don’t think the planets are anywhere to be seen. You could check, I suppose: https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/observing-news/this-weeks-sky-at-a-glance-march-24-april-2/

Is there any way to tell the max range for MAVs?
Ironhand replied to dlder's topic in A-10A for DCS World
It's been ages since I've been in the A-10A pit for anything other than free flight. That being said, the manual hasn't been updated since 2013. So I'm not sure what changes have been made or bugs introduced over the years. The manual's range statements used to be correct. As far as "Is there any indication anywhere (which I'm not seeing), that tells you that the target is in range and can be shot? Stationary and more importantly moving targets?" is concerned, the pointing cross on the TVM would start flashing when you were within firing parameters. Hopefully that's still the case. -
I’ve noticed several oddities in recent online videos that have made me wonder what I was seeing. They seem to be some weird artifacts of some sort.

F-11 Airfield Camera View
Ironhand replied to Jack Watts's topic in DCS World Tutorial & Help Requests
Unfortunately, it’s nothing I’ve noticed on my end. -
Ahhh…the good old days.

I like that it’s being flagged as a trojan but, when you research it, there is no description of what it does anywhere to be found on the various virus scan platforms.

Did you install the OB (Open Beta) or Release version? MT is only available with the OB version for the present. If you reinstalled the OB version, then I'm out of ideas.
-
Start DCS. On the main menu at the top is a box with numerous squares. That’s the module manager. Click it and hopefully you’ll see the F-15 there ready for installation.

You mean it’s not available in the Module Manager for you to install?
