  1. I can and will when I’m next at my computer. The landing lights on these Russian aircraft (at least) are offset to the left as in the sim. This came up several years ago and I found videos showing the landing lights offset to the left. Further, their orientation fits with the instruction as to where the pilot should be looking, when landing.
  2. I give up. Where are ED’s Persian Gulf charts located?
  3. Ahhh…maybe it’s my age or, perhaps, I’m just an oddity but I’m always curious to see what documentation comes with the software I install. I may then, like any self respecting male, ignore it. But at least I know where to start looking should I succumb to the impulse to look for help.
  4. Wow! Really nice work!
  5. Like Elphaba I, too, would like to see better modeling of the medium we “fly” through. Hopefully things can start moving in that direction in the not too distant future.
  6. Excellent! And thanks for letting us know the solution.
  7. No, it’s currently the way it is by design. You won’t get landing clearance until you’re on final and right around the outer marker (5 km or so from landing). They’re working on an updated ATC. But, until it arrives, this is what we’ve got.
  8. I suppose you could have just used the one that gets installed with the sim in the sim’s Documents folder, though. That might have been easier. …..
  9. It wouldn’t be the first time I was wrong and it won’t be the last. But going by the Su-27 indicators, it’s 15 seconds from the time you press the “E” key until the system actually goes active.
  10. I'm neither advocating nor criticizing your conclusion. I'm simply pointing out that your documentation contains an inaccuracy. Change it or don't change it. It's no skin off my nose.
  11. Ahh…OK. I’m not where I can check the Tacview or TRK. OTOH, assuming he thought the ECM was on as soon as he pressed the “E” key, you’ll need to revise your timeline.
  12. I haven’t noticed anything unusual in that regard but I guess it depends on how much fuel you have loaded and the payload you’re carrying. I know it seems slow accelerating in the transonic region but that’s a different concern.
  13. In that case, assuming the timeline you described above is the correct one, his ECM turned on at 08:26:56, roughly 2 seconds before your aircraft exploded and right around the time that the AIM-7’s Gs and turn rate suddenly increase on the chart. EDIT: Just making the observation.
  14. I’m aware of that. I’m just asking if he told you it was active only after the indicators were solid, since there’s a 15 second delay between the time you flip the switch and the time it comes on.
  15. My only advice is to slow down. You need to be able to roll over before you can sit up; sit up before you can stand; stand before you can walk; and walk before you can run. Trying to do it all RIGHT NOW can only end as an exercise in frustration. Once you’ve decided to slow down and catch your breath, follow all the excellent advice given above.
  16. Excuse my ignorance. How do you know that ECM engaged 2 seconds after launch? Just curious.
  17. If he can’t get beyond 450 (assuming straight line flight), then there is indeed a problem. It’s been years since I’ve spent much time in the F-15C. So I took a quick refresher flight this AM. Taking off with 3 bags and full missiles and fuel, there was no problem exceeding 450 at both near sea level and high altitude (30+ thousand feet). If he’s referring to turning and burning, that’s something different.
  18. Whether or not there's a problem would depend mostly on what altitude you are flying at and what you have hanging off of your wings and fuselage. And are you referring to IAS or TAS?
  19. Ummm…he was agreeing with you.
  20. So I wonder if @-Vindicator- ever got his situation resolved.
  21. Just a note on mods keeping you from opening a TRK file. You can edit out the mod reference in the mission file. Unzip the TRK file and open the enclosed mission file with NotePad++. The reference will be right at the top. What to delete will be obvious.
  22. Which makes sense, if you have a low IR signature. He can see you and aim at you but, until he is able to get a lock on you, he won’t be able to launch.
  23. Mission creators and, I think, multiplayer servers can restrict the use of external views so that only the cockpit view is available. If that’s the case, you won’t have external views available in the TRK file, unless you edit it to enable them. Or you could try opening the TRK file in the Mission Editor, enabling external views, and saving it. I’ve never tried the Mission Editor approach myself but I think it should work.
  24. Ummm…since it’s an ABF warhead, wouldn’t the kill radius also be the kill distance? Anything within 15 meters distance of the warhead blast would be “killed”.
  25. No. You actually have the landing light on, when the switch is in the фонарь посад position in your image. I can tell because they angle off to the left. And the taxi lights are on in the рулeж image. It’s deceptive in DCS because the landing lights are designed to throw a focused beam far into the distance. Hitting the ground, where they are in your image, they should be dazzlingly bright. But, in the sim, they are the same intensity whether lighting the ground immediately in front of you or 500 meters away. The taxi lights, on the other hand, are more diffused and light the ground immediately in front of you. The settings from the outside: LANDING LIGHTS: TAXI LIGHTS:
