  1. To illustrate what WarbossPetross is referring to, here’s something I began years ago but never published. If the link works correctly, it’ll bring you in at the right point. EDIT: Just wanted to mention that, since both Search (Scan) and TWS provide info such as speed, altitude, and velocity vector, the practical distinction between the two is that TWS allows you to designate your target. Once designated, the radar continues to follow it as it changes altitude, etc.
  2. In your installation’s DOC folder. Or here, if you’d prefer to get it online: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/dcs_user_manual/
  3. From the DCS User Manual:
  4. Engines off and parked on your coalition’s airbase.
  5. I believe it was Chicz who stated that the behavior was correct in the sim and based on the real world. It was in some thread but not sure where. It may have been on the Russian side of the forum for that matter but I think I was reading English at the time so…
  6. Yes, it can.
  7. Given the subject of the post he was responding to, I imagine it’s similar to what we have now—or used to have, anyway—as long as you are willing to edit the LUA file that you can save using the dynamic weather menu. For instance, currently you can set up “cells” that work together, or against each other, to produce a weather front with rain occurring somewhere along that front that moves from west to east with winds that vary in direction and intensity in locations as the cells move across the map. To achieve this takes a lot of editing as well as trial and error. It’s very time consuming to create and place the effects you want where you want them when you want them. I imagine their goal is to allow something like this to happen but without the editing and with much less trial and error.
  8. Looks like great things are coming... Thanks for the previews.
  9. It would be great, if he could, since there are numerous glaciers in those mountains. So those, at least, would be there through all seasons.

  11. It would be best to post a short track showing the issue. Otherwise the devs won’t look into it.
  12. Is this with or without afterburner? And do you wait until both engines have equalized before you release the brakes? This conversation occurred elsewhere recently—though I haven’t been able to find it quickly, so it may have occurred in a thread on a different subject. IIRC, the issue occurs with afterburner. I hadn’t really noticed it prior because I so seldom use afterburner, when taking off. EDIT: Found the thread. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/300169-su-2733-drifting-sideways-on-takeoffs/#comment-4979669
  13. Do you have any of the extraneous nVidia software installed or anything similar that can be set to take screenshots?
  14. Which is exactly what I told Mike_CK. You can’t just dump the files into a Mod folder. You need to use JSGME or something similar to place them in main DCS directory. Either that or place them there manually.
  15. It has to replace core files. So a MOD folder doesn't work.
  16. Just installed this and WOW!!! Pure delight.
  17. Just want to note that ALT-ENTER is a Windows thing not specific to DCS: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/alt-enter-switches-between-window-and-full-screen-d1b23daa-644d-3fbf-2f5e-c2c779584db5#:~:text=When you run an application,is displayed in full screen. So, whether by accident or design, DCS no longer allows the Windows convention.
  18. Esac_mirmidon is the person to ask. He’s translated that part of the manual. I haven’t done that yet. But I do know you won’t find previous and next buttons for the waypoints. There will most likely be several buttons—not certain how many—with programmed waypoints, should you need to manually select one.
  19. Amen to that. Took it for a quick spin this morning. Pure joy to fly.
  20. So how in hell do you get access to this thing? The discord invite on the first page has expired and I can't find them thru discord.
  21. Last time I looked there were 50+ missions listed for the Su-27. I imagine you’ll find at least a few to your liking.
  22. IIRC, the the former acts like a parking brake and locks the breaks in the “on” position. The latter simply applies the brakes when used.
  23. Not familiar with the VIRPIL but using an image Esac_mirmidon posted eons ago…
