  1. Most likely they are being used in Pre-Briefed mode, if I understand that mode correctly.
  2. I know that. Just saying that the OP wasn’t in error that Ukr. is using them. Besides, this is an FC3 a/c. No need to emulate anything. And, of course, being an FC3 a/c, nothing like this will be added. But he can certainly ask.
  3. https://www.defense.gov/News/Transcripts/Transcript/Article/3134558/senior-defense-official-holds-a-background-briefing/
  4. Sorry to see you go…go in peace.
  5. Everything else aside, that R-77's missile’s behavior was bizarre beginning roughly 1 minute into it's flight. It was tracking the aircraft, then suddenly began switching back and forth between something off to its left and the original target. Finally it shifted back to the original target and continued to track it for the next minute, even though the target was about 50° or more above the seeker head.
  6. Their default position is off. You need to turn them on. Whatever they are set to, when you raise the landing gear, that is what they will be set to the next time you lower them. At least that’s how I remember it always working in the past.
  7. I guess I don’t see what you’re referring to. The profiles look similar to me. They wouldn’t be identical because the target is maneuvering and the missiles are not in the same piece of sky. But, if there is a difference, could it be biting on chaff and, then, relocking on the real target?
  8. Back in the day, when aircraft were FC3 and flight models were all SFM, track files were quite reliable—that is, until an update would come along. In fact, the early tutorials accompanying sim were TRK files with text and voice added. And it worked well, for the most part. But as the sim became more complex—AFM and PFM, more complex weather, more complex AI, etc—the TRK system hasn’t kept up. Would love to see it 99% reliable again.
  9. The best way to test would probably be to set up a server with two slots and run the scenarios. That way you can run tests with more precise profiles. Might be easier to figure out what causes what. TRK files would also be manageable.
  10. Just for comparison, here is a 58 km R-27ER shot. Similar look to the shorter one in my previous post. Again, SP. So, if the -ERs behave differently online, then it's probably not the missile itself but rather, the interaction of the missile with either the target or something else.
  11. Yes. SP. There are too many unknown variables introduced in MP.
  12. The ET was launched first and reached the target prior to the -ER. So what is the difference supposed to be between the two?
  13. Just want to note that you can already do this…in the ME.
  14. Sure it can. You just have to select "trk" as the suffix rather than "miz" in the "Open Mission" dialogue box.
  15. I’m not at my computer, so I can’t check but, under the Controller tab, there are a few categories that are universal and not related to a particular aircraft. Have you checked in there? Just a thought. nnmm
  16. Since you had a difficult time installing the sim for some reason, it may be that something didn’t install correctly. Have you tried running a slow repair?
  17. Sorry. That’s totally out of my league.
  18. Hardly every fly the Su-33 these days. IIRC, the tail hook and fuel probe commands are a toggle. The command sets it to its opposite state. If it’s retracted, it’s deployed. If deployed, retracted. Not sure where the special afterburner button/switch is or if there even is one. It could just be a set of pins on the throttle that you push past in the real world. No idea and no manual to help figure it out easily.
  19. The drogue chute release button is hard to spot because it’s low in the front left corner. It’s the red button to the left inside the red circle: There isn’t a single switch. I haven’t spent much time in this part of the manual because, this being an FC3 aircraft, knowing where this stuff is didn’t make much difference. However, in the following image (rear right panel), the battery, converter, and generator blue tipped switches run left to right respectively inside the red enclosure. Some blue tipped system power switches are located toward the rear of the left panel:
  20. If both images are where the red marker is, they are:
  21. I’m not at home and, so, can’t look specifically. But I think it’s on the left panel. There should be a button marked “ВЫПУСК ТП” which is the release button. There should be another button there as well marked “СБРОС ТП” which is the reset button.
  22. The N001s that can fire the R-77 have a bypass channel that allows incoming radar data to be switched to a new all-digital processing system. When one of the new modes (several A2G modes along with 1 additional A2A mode providing R-77 compatibility) is selected, radar data is sent to the new subsystems, but if an old mode is selected the data is processed as before by the existing radar hardware. Quite honestly I’m not even certain the R-77 can be launched STT with the new mode.
  23. Same place, same coordinates. Between and just beyond the ends of two lakes, Argentino and Viedma.
