Is there anywhere NOT discord to get those fixes?
-
It’s unfortunate you went with a sim frame. You could have rigged the seat to slide way back and swivel 90° for entry like in some real sims. They usually use a boating helm seat track. Buy used not new. just do some casters and a door hinge or a piano hinge. Or a car door hinge. Split it one side or the other of the throttle. That’s a full “seam” across the side panel so effectively hidden when closed. although talk about overthinking under building I’m like 2 years now into a damn VPforce custom rig I still haven’t even started. I got the BIG break my arm motors!

Offline competition - show your longest Phoenix hit
RustBelt replied to AndrewDCS2005's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I really do wish the “not a cold war” was actually over to see all the actual scenarios and plans from both sides. But, that’s probably going to be another 50+ years at least. Assuming we don’t keep running in circles with stagnating technology like we have since the 90’s. -
If the AoA indicator is off, is the Hook height off? Has anyone tried passes at 8 degrees under the donut? Or using a hard IAS reference?

True a denial works as well as a kill. They just have to believe you can hit them to turn tail. -
So it goes with Discord.

I mean, I’m sure that was the “scenario” it was sold with. -

They kind of gave us a rosetta stone of how to think about fixing things that aren’t in the C++ code. You have a double “,” between the color and the intensity. (10) and (255)

Aaaand the Eurofighter, Aaaaaaand finally taking the Saab out of early access.and…and….and…. the B(U) will happen when it happens and not a second earlier. dare you to make the Tomcat and F4 in XP12!

Except in the real world they would be aware due to EWR and AWACS radar support as well as various other ELINT assets to say “hey guys there’s a Tomcat out there coming to say hi, and it looks like something fast just came out the front of it. Consider evasion.” Unless the bombers are carrying non-standoff nukes and the understanding is it’s a one way trip, those AIM-54’s are just being wasted because they’re going to feint and drag and evade. In a resource and NPC equipment limited environment that may or may not be accurate based on the mission designer….yea it’s cool I guess to basically do Ad brochure shots. -
Invalid or expired. I really dislike Discord.

Generally I just use Quaggles to strongarm the binds in. https://github.com/Quaggles/dcs-input-command-injector?tab=readme-ov-file

Getting nothing with this link.

Oh GPS dome was with LANTIRN not the PTID? it’s hard to tell since they kind of came in around the same time, and documentation is still…..meh. I thought the pod had a self contained GPS, but antenna wired to the roof is probably more reliable.
-
As I understand it these got out “early” and aren’t technically implemented yet. They work, but ofcourse nothing we currently have has a GPS, so that’s probably a B(U) argument. The others are the mock -95 stuff that’s being worked on in the “Early A” rig. Because even early -135s had TCS.

What is "Anvil" again?

There hasn’t even been a patch in what 4 - 5 months. It’s not going to fix itself.
-
That throttle picture looks like AI slop.

I have better things to review rather than pages of patch updates. To say nothing of terrible Youtube videos. That's good, I've heard no significant amount of noise. And there is quite a lot of Noise out there at any given time.

Jester doesn't close the canopy during cold start
RustBelt replied to Gunfreak's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes usually you get Jester saying “closing the canopy” as it closes. Or you used to a couple months ago last time I did a single seat cold start. -
On the Visual ID side. That’s what the Camera is for. If only you could tell jester to zoom in. Also yes, looking at a 32” flat screen image is nothing at all like actually looking at a real airplane at a distance in the real world. It’s impossible to reproduce properly on an LCD screen. Just the lack of collimation makes it impossible to tell Speck on the canopy, vs Distant aircraft, vs sneeze residue on the screen itself. To say nothing of the flattening of highlight in even a HDR display due to the rendering systems used. And unfortunately that also applies to OLED VR. The best the current render pipelines can manage is to recreate a fairly nice small format camera image. Even with ray tracing, it just can’t handle real light at a distance right. TLDR, use at least dots if not labels because it just can’t do reality justice.

I hear that a lot, but never see any real noise about it. Which leads me to assume it’s simply incremental adjustments and so not worth bothering to remember. The learning law of Primacy is no joke, and ED does nothing to combat it. Also why just do it right to begin with, is a really good idea.

If you’re going IP bombing, you’re basically doing artillery style work. Which in the real world is effective, just hosing an area with 500 pounders on ripple to make everything in a grid square miserable. The INS is good enough for that. In DCS the damage modeling makes it less worth the time to do. So it’s a mode that’s modeled, but yea don’t bother. Stick to Computer or Pilot or the Pod if you plan on hitting specific things.

Time and money spent to implement it mostly. Like every product.
