  1. No twist in ch, but the twcs throttle has the rudder paddles, no? I think if twist is a constraint, you will be stick with x56 or a virple offering with twist. (Or cheap rudder pedals)
  2. The throttle you have is great, honestly doubt you need more. (Especially if you've used nylogel or other similar on it). But yes, the T16000 stick leaves a lot to be desired. I looked long and hard at the X56, but ultimately settled on the CH Fighterstick, which I absolutely love. It's old, it's kinda ugly, but it works so well I don't even care!
  3. So opened up the windows control manager on my fighterstick, and realized just how bad the sensors have gotten. Jump around, miss entire sections... Should make a huge difference once I install the new ones!
  4. My dad bought a notebook specifically for "portable" VR flight simming. He got an Alienware with an i7 and GTX 1080 (non-ti) with 16GB RAM. Works well, I can fly DCS on it without any issues using a RiftS
  5. PM Sent! Been looking forward to this!
  6. Awesome! Looking forward to this and new pentometers!
  7. I'm looking at new sensors and the main board. Curious to see how noticeable the increased resolution will be!
  8. This is pretty much me. Way I see it, Viper and Hornet are going to have a lot of cross-code at this point. What one gets, the other gets shortly after. Figure TWS was easier to implement in Viper, and they were already on it, so there you go. PR wise, it may have made more sense to say that both are getting it at the same time, but...meh.
  9. I love this game, and I'm new enough that much of what was expressed in the video hasn't effected me too greatly yet. (~1 year, but already own A-10, F-18, F-16, Nevada and the Persian Gulf). So, consider me invested, but not as heavily as many here. There's a part of me that wonders if perhaps the team is spread too thin? 125 people (obviously not all are developers) is a lot of people, but we have in progress: Vulkan rending engine Dynamic Campaign F-16 F-18 Carrier Update New weather system New AI New ATC New Maps A-10 updates Updating other legacy assets And who knows what else I'm missing. Perhaps some of these items can be prioritized and teams shuffled to focus on them? In particular the people working on everything except the F-16 and F-18 (As frequent updates to those modules are still very high in demand) and Carrier (Upcoming revenue source). I know most developers have a niche, but usually there is some cross over in skill sets, with a project manager and a couple meetings to see how best to divide the work, you might be able to knock out a couple of these features faster, so the community can see the progress. Or maybe tackle a couple of the long standing bugs, like night visibility. Just a thought. (Background: I'm a front end developer with ~15 years experience, so while I don't know how your teams are structured, I'm not completely unfamiliar with how large, multi faceted projects work)
  10. First: Awesome on having though through this and making an adjustment. Second: Thanking Jabbers after he gave what can only be called a "Fair first impression" of the product, perceived faults and all lends a lot towards your credibility and professionalism. I know that as the manufacturer there must have been moments where you cringed because he missed something that was adjustable (the paddle switch adjustment which he found on stream, or the above issue with the throttles hitting each other) but you'll get much further just working with the reviewers to address the issues (And maybe sharing here as above that it was just an oversight) goes a long way towards building trust with the community!
  11. Is there a way to get a Virpil base with the Warthog grip? Wouldn't hit the buget, just curious since so many people talk about it.
  12. I'd actually love it if there was some way that the game would remember the last position of your switches on shutdown, and set them to it the next cold start. (The logistics of that alone are already making my head swim). But just something so we dont always get in the exact same plane, something's things aren't set peefect.
  13. I'll just file it under "Anticipated Christmas Present". If we can figure out a solution for paddle switch, I don't see myself upgrading from CH for a very long time. Also...Force Sensing?!
  14. The mag variance in Nevada really got me. I'm used to the 6* in the Caucasus region, hopped into Nevada and tried a low visibility ILS landing, and couldn't keep the needles lined up at all. Came out of the clouds and was expecting a few degrees off, not 11-12*!
  15. Is it just me, or is the in-cockpit sound work better than the other modules? I've flown the F-18 for a solid year, but little things like High G maneuvers leading to loss of hearing, to the sound of flying through clouds keep jumping out to me. Anyone else notice the sound design?
  16. So umm...spring size / source? Or is this a "Take a spring with you to a hardware store and look for yourself" post? :)
  17. Looking forward to it! My fighterstick has started to get a little jitter when centered, a plug and play method for updating it would be amazing!
  18. I use a R5 1600, DCS runs great. (In VR no less!)
  19. Wow, that's crazy about the price! My only concern with the gladiator is it has so few hats. Not an issue if you only fly the tomcat I guess, but if you ever wanted to fly an a10, hornet, viper or harrier it would be sorely lacking.
  20. I have the ch fighterstick, it's a very light stick, so yes, there's a center detent of sorts, but coming from a hotas X? It's almost non existent. (Again, I did the Hoyas X to ch fighterstick) And its 50$ used, and can be resold for 50$ if you dont like it. :)
  21. I think a bunch of ya'll never had a healthy marriage... A game is a game, a wife is for life.
  22. And just checking, but these mods would work with both the USB and Gameport versions I'm assuming? An extra 5$ isn't bad...
  23. Sent dimensions via PM. My goal in upgrading would be improved resolution at an affordable price. Whether it's 10bit or 12bit I don't really care too much (12 bit nicer of course, depending on what that does to price) and I don't use the CH software because I'm in Windows 10. While you're playing with this, and since you have experience with 3D Printing...if you engineer a way to add a paddle switch to this thing, or leave room for one more switch to be added for us that want to figure that out ourselves, that could be quite interesting. (Obviously involve cutting into the base a little to install). Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
  24. As a fellow dad, who also started with a Hotas X. CH Fighterstick USB. I picked one up used off ebay for $50. Works great in modern planes, is near identical to the F-16/A-10 (Missing paddle switch, that's it). People complain about the resolution, but it's LIGHT YEARS better than the Hotas X, and I honestly don't know that I'm going to bother upgrading it.
