if you're willing to mod, CH Fighterstick -> replace pentameters with the Hall sensors available in the CH Mods thread. Then you'll have super high resolution, great movement, and all the hats you'll need!

Thank you sir! I tried the seat out for a couple minutes, and even at 1% the seat felt like it was overkill for the engines. I'll have to keep playing with it, would love to see someones full setup for a baseline. :)

Hi Guys, is there a list of users settings for any planes/helos? Just looking for a baseline to get started or what other people have had success with. Specifically looking at F-18, F-16, A-10 and TF-51, but figure there's some crossover. I've tried searching, but come up with nothing. Thanks!

wow, quite a bit smaller!

anyone know of a step by step setup guide to Quest & DCS?
A2597 replied to subseauk's topic in Virtual Reality
Tips for VR Sickness: When you start to feel it, STOP. Don't try to push through, it only makes it worse and take longer to get your VR legs long term. Try simpler VR Games, anything roomscale will help considerably, then move to seated (like DCS). And then do more basic stuff like straight takeoffs and landings until your brain starts being able to handle "Moving without moving". :D It took me a couple weeks to fully get my VR legs, and even then it took awhile before I could handle FPS games (Minecraft was the *worst* for me) -
HEADQUARTERS - massively improved fast mission generator

Yes, the user above who described the process. The version on Github was a brand new build, and still incomplete. It's one of those times I wish I knew C so I could help with the project, but I'm a front end dev, pretty useless with those languages. :( -
Also super interested in this one! Thread kinda took a turn, anything new on development front?

wow! Awesome work!

why can you not update Oculus? I use CV1, never had an issue?

System for VR: AMD Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2070, 32GB RAM

Expect DCS to always be bottle-necked by something, LOL I run 16GB of low latency DDR 4, no issues, even online. -

What headset are you aiming for? I would say with a Rift S (And maybe even a Reverb) You'd be fine. If you're aiming for a PIMAX...maybe not. I run a GTX 1080 paired with the R5 3600, and am GPU bottlenecked. The 2070 Super is about 11% faster than the GTX 1080, but I'd wager you'll still be GPU bottlenecked with that chip. I run at around 45FPS on the ground, and can get up to 90 at altitude with decent graphics on Oculus Rift CV1. The Rift S should work well. -

I wish I had knowledge of C, I'm a javascript dev, so not so much of an ability to assist in a meaningful manner, but I do love this project. -
Some users strap a trackball to their leg for the vr mouse. Or, if you have extra cash available, point CTRL from the input forum is awesome for vr

First, if you had dizziness with roomscale VR on the quest, expect more of it in DCS. It takes a couple weeks to build VR tolerance. If you start to feel nausea, stop, come back after a little break, don't try to push through it, it will just make it worse, but you WILL build tolerence over time. (When I first flew on the Oculus i got a little nauseated, but now dogfights and low level maneuvers are just fun!_

Ah yes. T1600 throttle + ch fighterstick would make a great combo! -

That and a member here is making some nice parts for them in the input output forum. If you are patient, you can pick them up pretty cheap. My setup is a warthog throttle and a ch fighterstick with ch pedals. All found cheap. :) -
Everything on this list is awesome. :)

I didnt take any, it really was plug and play though.

Just have to say again...the new sensors with the new main board have made this a brand new stick. If anyone is on the fence, just buy it already. All I need now is a paddle switch and I don't see ever upgrading this stick!
-
anyone have any luck with this in the F-16, those screens are near illegible!
-
That's a pretty awesome recommendation, thank you! My dad has a RiftS, so I've gotten to fly with it a couple times (enough that I now see what I'm missing with my CV1) really hoping to just be able to see the screen in the F-16, those DDI's are almost impossible to see in the CV1, Hornets I don't even need to zoom to see....

Looking for HOTAS equip recommendations
A2597 replied to Redgum's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I started with the Hotas X as well, added a CH Fighterstick, and later a warthog throttle and CH Pedals. (All used, saves a lot of money buying used, keep tabs in the for sale forum here, and the HOTAS discord channel) I'd say Thrustmaster TWCS throttle with a used CH Fighterstick USB. Awesome combo, more than enough hats to do everything. Highly recommend pedals at some point too. Then later use Rel4y's hall sensor upgrade to give it 14bit resolution, super easy install.
