Totally agree. Indeed you did very well: you've said nothing to be mentioned as useful in this topic.

So for you the acronym DCS is : Digital COCKPIT Simulator instead of Digital COMBAT Simulator don't you? You should talk to ED and "mislead" them to change the name of the product also its core concept. If they accept that then good luck having to compete with Microsoft in the civil aviation niche.

Hi gents, I'm looking for a F-16 pilot and helmet templates. Two questions: 1- Does anyone have them? 2- Does that anyone mind to share them? Thanks for advance

Sometimes ppl should think twice what they type..... and this is a great example..... Dude you have gone off topic 20,000 kms. away

In ingame K4 terms means: I'm going to crunch you in 2 secs instead in one teabag!! So going back to the OP idea: Yes a G-6 got all the sense with the actual plane set and WW2 maps (Channel, Normandy 1 & 2)

Where exactly MP guys will fly upcoming Corsair and La7?
OLD CROW replied to Tvrdi's topic in Multiplayer
I've never said neither insinuated you that. If you understood whatever you wanted to understand it's only in your head. But don't put your thoughts like if they were my words. Again you're not only wrong understanding, you're also wrong twisting things. I haven't said I want this or I don't want that, please recheck my previous posts and whatever I do in a thread like this has been revealed in all those previous posts, but due you hadn't understood or you hadn't wanted to understand them I answer you now: I'm giving my opinion about Multiplayer and WW2 modules, like the rest of people, OP included. May we? -

All my blessings to you in your way to find Shangri-La, but you like me and a lot of other customers/players worldwide downloaded a product with multiple options for Single Player also for Multi Player. It's only up to the customer, in her/his "Free Will" choose one way the other way or both, but talking here about modding, with all my respects for all mod comunity, is out of sight in this thread. The official product is very, very limited and you have already given yourself the answer adding "non official" patches to their "official" very limited product. And the only who is limiting himself here it's you wrongly thinking AI's can help you in a better way than other human opponents in mastering BFM. Maybe AI can help you to master your A/C in some controlled conditions but BFM against humans is the definitive game changer to your own learning curve: AI reacts to your countable ingame inputs, human opponents react to their learnt skills also to the feelings in their guts. You CAN perform a lot of positive things in SP, don't get me wrong, but you CANNOT perform this in SP.... you really need another "being" for performing this: Go to 5:37 if you want to skip part of the vid. -

I'm not forcing to ANYONE to change their "plans".... I'm just pointing out them what is the actual situation related with WW2. I don't mind what "are" their "What If... future plans". if you want to white knight them.... go on! you have a lot of hard competence in this forum. The problem is that they want to be everywhere like God but in fact they've been nowhere for years with or without FPS friendly techs or with already in market maps, that's what the OP initially pointed out and She/He's fully right. -

Is it going to be with the same "LOD-hardware performance killer" like the original Marianas map? I remind you that Marianas are one of the most "unpopular" map to play MP due multiple reasons, but performance is one of the most imprtant elements if you want to offer a decent MP experience..... and VR users are not mentioned here.... Meanwhile ppl is going to use the Caucasus map... as we've been doing for more than a decade (decade means "your Meanwhile") for hardware/software performance, proximity and historical reasons ( Battle of Kuban).... cause an LA-7 in Marianas (actual or WW2 map) is like a penguin in the Pyramids. The main problem here is not where to fly the new upcoming models is there's no natural opponents in the actual plane set, also there's no announcement of "anything" planned for short-mid term, and there's ppl that like to fly & fight.... and most of them fly MP.... and most of them (I'm included) like to fight with opponents that "match" (too much time suffering the Bf109 K-4 (late 1944) vs. Spitfire Mk.IX (early 1943) problem). We can own a superb I-16 or a superb La-7 (all my best whises to Octopus-G), but with no context surrounding it will become just another A/C for "sunday flyers" doing pleasure flights like in a TF-51. I perfectly know there's a lot of ppl with their own multiple interests and for sure Gods of software are going to please those with money burning in their pockets anxious of giving it with no restrictions,.... but when part of the name of your product contains the word COMBAT it should means anything to get in consideration. -
need evidence Unrealistic speedbrake behavior?
OLD CROW replied to Manolo's topic in Bugs and Problems
IMHO this effect is plausible. I'm only theorizing.... but due the upper and center position of the airbrake system in the F-18 (I guess near the physical A/C CG), once you actuate the airbrake this generates a high preassure zone over the airbrake zone but also a turbulent air zone over the rudder and flaperons upper zone. So the lift generated by the lower flaperons surface tends to push the tail up... so it means pulling the nose down... ergo it should generate an induced negative G. Using the simplified (don't take it too seriously this ex. it's just only for visualizing the effect purpouses) car example: when brakes are actuated car nose tends to go down. This effect can't be seen in other A/C's like F-16 or F-14 due their airbrake position (tail end: off any surface control position) and upper and lower deployment. But as I said I'm not an expert so I will be pleased if someone can give us a clear explanation of this effect.- 20 replies

A wise person told once there's no stupid question but stupids answers.... Following your 3 Michelen Star thoughts..... More people than you think ask for anything special and out of menu and maybe chef/cook has no time to personally answer them but, in a good maners (politely) way, send back the waitress/waiter and tell those picky customers is not possible their demand in that time. It usually worked before 2015 I'm pretty sure it doesn't work in 2022 and I'm totally sure it won't work in 2032 if people like you say what you've said in the way you've said cause you're wrongly confident for saying that. Do I need to attach any emogi you to understand what I've said? I only attach a Pablo Neruda's poem fragment: Me gustas cuando callas y estás como distante. Y estás como quejándote, mariposa en arrullo. Y me oyes desde lejos, y mi voz no te alcanza: déjame que me calle con el silencio tuyo.

reported P-51 engine does not quit when overheated
OLD CROW replied to amazingme's topic in Bugs and Problems
????...... Happy to make you having fun. Unhappy you have not contributed anything constructive to this thread. For next times don't waste your time in reading long reports... type your owns and share the fun with others. Could be plausible. I attached the track thinking they could recover it somehow. Maybe it was only my hunch... who knows... track is corrupted. Let's see how all this will develop also when all A/C's got the FM-DM reviewed. Cooling system is an step forward the way it has been implemented, but needs some fine adjustments. -
reported P-51 engine does not quit when overheated
OLD CROW replied to amazingme's topic in Bugs and Problems
Mission is the INSTANT ACTION DOGFIGHT VS 109 in Channel map After merge first I started chasing 109 wingman on the deck. Wingman then started an extension just for putting me in a drag & bag situation. I noticed that maneuver I didn't follow the wingman's tight turn to the right. I check high 6 and I spotted leader diving while cutting the corner on me, so I pulled flap 1 and started to pull back gradually the stick, just to perform a breaking turn to the right and pull hard just when I noticed he reached the shooting distance. I evaded the main spray but he managed to put a few bullets in my left wing, nothing important as I checked visually (no big holes in the wing, just small holes done by shrapnel in the inner part of the wing). I hadn't noticed any change in A/C FM: no lack of lift, no extra drag, no lack of control in any flying surface, no lack of engine performance... nothing remarkable ( I only noticed the visual damages 2 maneuvers after due I checked my 6 looking for the 109). Due the break turn I burnt a good amount of energy, so I decided to pull flap 2 and perform flat scissors just to force his overshooting due he had a lot of energy in the first dive. We did 2 flat passes and I converted the flat scissors into a rolling scissors just performing a barrel roll to force him the overshot if he wanted to keep the energy high or sacrifice a big amount of energy just to start a a very low energy combat on deck. I guess AI is not programmed for choosing the second solution (as a human opponent normally does), so after the barrel roll we were on deck flying in paralel, he was on my 10-11 OC. 109 can build up energy faster than P-51. He started to extend away. I retracted flaps to position 1 and I slowly tried to put my nose in an very gently intercepting course, just to build a shooting window and put a few shots on him. As soon I pointed my gunsight on him he firstly turned tight right and then due his energy advantage he started to perform a breaking turn that he converted into a chandele to the right: enough relaxed for him to keep my nose out of any decent shot but enough tight for forcing me to mantain my engine in 3000 RPM's and full MP in case I decide to stay in the turn. We performed this ascendent turn for almost 2 complete turns. During those turns I had enough time for checking rads temps, last time was I checked temps was when I first was chasing the wingman and cooler needle was green but going to red zone and oil temp needle was in the bottom of the green box but dropping to the red zone too. Then I had to perform all that shaky-shaky jinking with the leader and after completing first chandele turn I noticed my MP was at 64 inches for, what I judged, too much time, but before relaxing throttle I decided to check temps and.... There they were!!!! after all that engine abuse needles were in green boxes and with no apparent movement or visual tendency to the red zone. Even that I decided to pull back MP into 59-60 but that slowered the A/C enough so he began to get away from my 2-3 OC. I stayed in the turn for another three quarters of a turn pushing and pulling throttle from 60 to 64 a couple of times more, just for experimenting with the needles (dogfight was already lost: he was building energy and I was on deck burning energy trying to keep his turn, so it would had been a matter of time he dove on me again or the wingman came after me) cause it was weird and confusing how could it be possible needles were marking good temps after all that shake at low speed solid as a rock. At this point I quitted mission thinking track was short enough for evading the possible corruption. I saved the track, went back to playback menu and.... the rest is history. Maybe due the heat of the battle I could had missjudged the engine endurance timing, but in what I have zero doubts is how fast oil and coolant temps increase in mustang as soon as rads intake air flow is hindered or fully cutted and the fact I started the fight chasing wingman with rads temp going red, performed all jinks and shaking maneuvers with the leader that hindered fresh air in rads, perform an extension at 3000 RPM and MP in WEP (64 Inches) position and then perform a chandele for almost 2 complete circles made me reaching the conclusion I've experimented any similar bug what you described in august 31 and its possible generator could be in the Damage Model. I Hope it would be helpful. Regards. -
reported P-51 engine does not quit when overheated
OLD CROW replied to amazingme's topic in Bugs and Problems
I attach the track of this bug, track seems corrupted, but even that I attached it. I've observed both rads temps went stable (needles come back to green safe zone) and engine gone into "god mode" (engine can be pushed beyond their performing and timing limits) even in WEP only after receiving some light scratches from one of those 109 I was fighting. When A/C is fresh cooling systems work as should be. All dogfight has been performed with engine at 3000 RPM's and MP between 50 and 64 Hg Inches on the deck. Cooling_Bug.trk -
I guess so... after 9 months..... But the problem is mine not their: If I would have done maths correctly and had applied a rule of three: They have fixed the cooling problem after 10 years, and not in all models..., Fool of me I was expecting from them to fix a mask visual issue in less than 10 months....My apologies! Sorry but from my point of view, reminder: I'm a customer-user-player, WW2 section is a nowadays NONSENSE, has been a NONSENSE for 10 years... and the near future doesn't look better. The policy of LACK OF NEWS IS GOOD NEWS doesn't work here.... all the opposite... and for details, maybe considered by a few (the diehards), stupids like a mask or lack of it and other bigger ones than this for YEARS are clear clues for "the white collars" to stop wondering why WW2 section are the niche of the niche of the niche of the niche... First fix the problems that every single A/C models have been dragging for years, fussion and optimize the 2 maps (Normandy & Channel) and then you can think in BIG. P.S.: ...and don't get me wrong. I said what I've said not because I could be considered a troll in this forum, I said what I've said cause I think WW2 section needs a faster progression... but like every single human being I can have infinite patience.... but what I really have is finite time.

is anybody there? Cheap & fast suggestion: Copy P-47's pilot 3D model & scripts and paste in the mustang folder

reported P-51 engine does not quit when overheated
OLD CROW replied to amazingme's topic in Bugs and Problems
After a LONG time..., almost finally... Mustang has become a pretty fearsome opponent. The fact pilot can completly focus on fighting (both eyes outside the cockpit and 100% the brain lock on the opponenet moves) for a longer time is a great game changer. The other game changer to bare in mind is all the FM-DM modifications implemented in all birds. K4 DM still been "weirdish" in some aspects (here is not the place to mention it) but now hopping on the Mustang and dogfighting is more pleasant than the pain it has been for too much time. Let's see if today I have SAME luck as yesterday.... After this update I can do better things than coming here and use the irony when it's necessary... so THANK YOU ED -
reported Incorrect Belt Composition for P51 and P47
OLD CROW replied to Cass's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Over 14 months since OP Cass started this thread.... The problem is older...... really older than 14 months !!! After X-mas they did a less than 10 minutes vid to explain new features in WW2 (IMAHO with 5 mins long vid would have been enough). I'm really hyped with the japanese wooden and paper houses in the Marianas... Certainly #2 -#1 was the delay bomb fuzes- in the WW2 issues to fix list ( 100% irony...actually). I never doubted everything will be fixed.... I only wonder HOW LONG? 2039 sounds like a great date.... just to celebrate the 100th. Anniversary. -
Every season, but I can't remember when I started spliting my budget in one part for buying the sheeps and the other for buying a model. I can only tell you 2 things: 1- The budget part for sheeps has been raising every season... 2- When the model is from a third party dev./ unofficial or a mod... track files corruption go even messier and it doesn't mean that official ones are 100% out of that mess. Don't loose the faith... but keep the rum for you... Jobu will understand...
