Don't know the logics of this cause in 30 & 40 series you can lock the water injection pump button. Any explanation about if it was this way IRL models or it's just a bug?

[4K TEXTURE OVERHAUL, WIP] Magic's Modified Mustang Makeup
OLD CROW replied to Magic Zach's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Hi M_Zach, I would like to know if this texture revamp is compatible with or keep this in mind. I commented this issue in another post 2 months ago. Another guy gave me a similar solution for all warbirds mod glass textures and how to install them in the docs/... folders, etc,..... it seemed to work, but only for some servers, so it's not a universal solution if it isn't implemented by ED. I'm still waiting an ED official implementation in the original default texture zip file, it would be easier and an universal solution for this problem for everybody cause the visibility in the P-51 is a.... with this 2 year old last glass foggy, frosty default layer that is too far from giving us an inmersive sensation of been inside a mustang cockpit. By the way.... Great Job!!! . Old Mustang deserves a bit of justice, not only in the visual aspect, but it would be the subject for another sub topic place. -

Great tech explanation Sir. What really is still blowing my mind is the direct link between that anomally in the fuel injection system and the RPM's fluctuation in an constant speed propeller controlled by an electrical auto system. In my vid you can see an small fluctuation, about 1 or 2 P.S.I's in the manifold needle while in the RPM's tachometer you can visually observ the greater fluctuations, but anyway... all these tech explanations and the reminder of locking up the primer handle after pumpings have made me enough happy. Thanks to everybody.

ok then.... appreciate. Do you have any explanation for that logics? I mean why a fuel primer handle position generates RPM's fluctuation? It really blows my mind and it would be awesome to understand the technical reason. Thanks anyway... with explanation or not.

This is in a P-47-40 and I've experienced this "desyncronized" Propeller effect several times. Most times I did the standard start up procedure also did the prop & magnetos last check before entering runway, but in this particular case I closed the cowling flaps and switched on the oil diluter on ground, just to accelerate the warming up. I only took off once all needles were on blue, I switched off the oil diluter before entering the runway but I kept the cowling flaps totally closed all time. Also I'd tried to disconnect and reset the breaker of the auto prop pitch inflight, test the switch in manual, also tried to test the prop lever manually, but same issue in all flight phases. The A/C got an strong tendency for drifting right in the desync- sync, also I noticed the P-47 more floaty than I normally feel it in speeds below 200 KIAS. In the video you could notice the slide indicator and the magnetic compass moving every time RPMs decrease- Increase.

bad a/c spotting with high resolution (3840 x 1600)
OLD CROW replied to havebug's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Try to change the values of MSAA, SSAA,SSLR, SSAO, Anisotropic filter.... to those I attached here or experiment with other values that feets your system. I Guess your PC is more powerful than my almost 6 year old one, but for me this settings work fine. You should think that as more resolution smaller the pixel size is, so you can watch an spectacular landscape but not the bad dude you're looking for cause its LOD pixels are too small. Hope it would help you. -

Hey admins, the last server update 1.1.6 tends to the boredome: AI from both sides is the only who have fun there.

Could it be possible to allow Keybinds for joysticks buttons? I know it can be set in Joy axis as Canopy crank, but it is weird Open/Close canopy can be set in keyboard binds but not allowed in joy buttons -
With all that new update tech overhauling,.... is it scheduled any visual pilot mask implementation? Cause poor mustang pilots are the olders also the only ones who don't wear one

OLD CROW replied to rkk01's topic in New Damage Model Bugs
In the same way as OP, AAA is not only the king of the deflection & erasing shooting it's also the "I mind a S... if anything of my side is between my gun and my prey". Explanation: at the end of my sortie I finished landing and once I reached the parking area I listened the Airfield AAA cannons working. I started to search in the sky so I spotted a very low incoming 109, mowing the trees, crossed the AF like a Mad Banzay Boy and made a break turn to left, at altitude ZERO. Dude.... all AF AAA focused on her. The nearest AAA to me started launching its potatoes at altitude zero and I could watch tracers passing inches away from my parked A/C but impacting a in Static B-17 and blowing up that grounded A/C. I can understand they can shoot thru trees (clouds also)due their synthetic nature, but friendly shooting? Shooting with zero pitch? Weird, also all the opposite to anything realistic. In AI FM some models are from an outter space (Deus ex machina) : 109 in GOD MODE can be amazing watching it performing donuts as flat as they can be considered a single line, and the wonder point is not thinking the 109 cannot perform that way is why the pilot inside never melts his brain after 2 very high G's pullings like a drone, also the unlimited tolerance to Jerk.... So basically training against AI is almost useless cause in low-mid skills it makes stupid mistakes neither a human noob makes, but on the other hand in ACE mode it's like it can perform like a bullet train on rails with 2 eyes all time lock on your nose (even if you're in its low 6 it can react to evade your aiming inputs!!!) and going 10 steps forward you in terms of draining your energy to the stall (DEEP BLUE vs. Kasparov in 1997). So the AI's in general might be overhauled. -

That is a really common mistake when you try to recreate a model from a Black & white old pictures (red & black got similar light spectrums). I'd decided to recreate this modeler's recreation with his "mistakes". I really like the red nose cone and red Squadron & unit code in same red tone over the bare metal background. Also rechecking my pictures I observed my own mistake: the font. I originally used one more "stenciled" than those shown in the original picture.

I'm affraid not mine cause this one is still in my photoshop/GIMP oven so I got no idea if anyone had shared it anytime. I've never digged too much in contrasting the info but I'd found her pictures as Squadron 601, basically the only squadron that had naked bare metal beauties like this one. The level of detail in this DCS 3D model and template is astonishing: all bumps and details in the metal plates and rivets and how the curvy surfaces reflect the ambient light & shadows.... simply... "a visual state of ART". With the 2.7 devs have nailed the X in the pirates treasure map of hardware resources optimization.
