  1. Try just renaming it @metashader or something similar. This way if it goes wrong it is a simple matter of removing the @ :)
  2. I was explaining this phenomenon to someone on Discord today. I switched off the new effects for comparison, after reapplying them I suddenly found my game looking and playing 100% better. No stutters or funny rendering. I figure this must have reset the shader cache and then recompiled it again more favourably. :)
  3. A quick vid I made last night enjoying the new lighting effects in NTTR 2.1
  4. https://developer.oculus.com/blog/asynchronous-spacewarp/ ASW will set your frames to 45 thats kinda how you know it works. It guesses the frames it thinks will be missed and replaces them, best read the above for more reliable info;)
  5. Quick find that works nicely for me, setting terrain shadows from flat to default gives less shimmering and no loss of FPS. The flickering may be more noticeable low down as I rarely notice it in a plane but for flying the choppers it was a PITA with the sun low down
  6. Yaay I knew you would be along soon :)
  7. Nice work I look forward to your success and will enjoy the build along the way, thanks for sharing :)
  8. Loving the new weather and wave effects, it lends itself to some very interesting scenarios :)
  9. I tried recording with game mode before the announcement. It gave an error that my hardware was not powerful enough or something along those lines. Worked before the update so I assume this is part of the problem
  10. It was me and perhaps it was wishful thinking, I am nevertheless convinced it looks better so everyone is happy:thumbup:
  11. Google maps may help :) until Lino steps up to the plate :music_whistling:
  12. I managed to get rid of the horrible shimmering on objects in NTTR and the buildings looked better. It certainly made a difference but as all settings where applied together it is possible some are not working. Certainly room for more testing:)
  13. I am sorry for all these posts about unplayability. Granted I have not done much but fly around in different aircraft and tried different wind and TOD settings. I love it, I can not get 90fps but as I could not before in NTTR with the settings I chose its all good. I have had to make some adjustments to suit, removing AF and MSAA in game and replacing them with nvidia CP settings- AFx8, FXAA On, Antialiasing x8 I have flat cockpit shadows now instead of high and flat terrain shadows using the defered shaders and the cockpit illumination settings too. PD in the rift is 1.5 oh and high water for screenies Overall and knowing that optimisation will occur I am more than happy at the moment:)
  14. I love it, thanks for all your hard work so far. I am pleased to be around at this great time in flight sim history. The sense of extreme heat in Nevada with the new lighting is surreal and I am just about to go fly in Normandy with my trusty Utility Helicopter 1 find a shady spot near a river and have a virtual picnic Bonsoir;)
  15. I am using Skatezilla's app https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053
  16. I wonder if the hype will exceed NTTR proportions, that was a fun day :)
  17. It does have a section on performance and settings but its a long video. gives a nice impression of whats expected
  18. It is thanks you. Every thing is shiny again and the straps are still stiff:thumbup:
  19. Is this the latest hype train thread ? Can I get on now ? Two more sleeps:joystick:
  20. FYI my replacement rift arrived just a minute ago :D Faultless aftersales service by Oculus:thumbup:
  21. YW I would tell you about wing walking with the spitfire but this is a huey thread:music_whistling:
  22. Thanks for letting us know mate :)
  23. I have just added a numberpad to a bracket on my left arm rest to use whilst flying in the rift. I have all those keys at my fingertips. However I want to assign options in the UI layer like having number 4 as right mouse button or assign a zoom key etc. Anyway round the fact that you can presently only assign joystick buttons ?
  24. This was my thinking yesterday. Then I went to visit the American site but they out of stock until June:doh:
  25. If you switch to F2 view and then back to F1 the head movement from the rift is gone and you can then enjoy the ride. 1 thing I enjoy doing with the huey is get up above 3-400 ft and set it into level autopilot then get out of your chair and sit furthur back (our sofa is behind my PC chair) you can open the doors and sit in the cargo space looking out. Some clever manoeuvring can also let you sit with your legs out of the door  I also like parking on a high building in Vegas and get out the chopper to look around. Hold onto something though or accidents may occur :helpsmilie:
