  1. nice pics thanks for sharing:)
  2. Just about to fire up DCSW 2.0 after a clean driver instal and fitting my new shiny 1080 SC Will report back:)
  3. YAAY my new upgrade arrives tomorrow thank goodness for Amazon prime:thumbup: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01GBX8X5S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this is what I have gone for and fingers crossed I will see the difference between my 970 and the 1080. I do have a question though I hope someone may be able to help with. I have the option of raiding the machine I built for my son with an i5 4970 and an MSI B85-G43 mobo and 8Gb RAM to replace the mobo and cpu I have in my sig. Given that I just spent 500£ on a GPU more RAM will have to wait. Will I see a difference between my i7@3.6 and the i5@3.6 and 8gb ram over 12gb ram ?
  4. Thats a lovely setup. I imagine you just need a Rift to finish it off for ultimate immersion:thumbup:
  5. Hi Nick, I am almost in the same boat as you, deciding on an upgrade path. The X58 triple channel RAM is so expensive but that is an upgrade along with the GPU that you can take. If you have any interest I have some Corsair 3x2Gb 1600Mhz 8-8-8-24@ 1.65V that you can add for 12 Gb RAM for a nominal sum which will be a big boost for NTTR and presumably Normandy. PM me if your interested. Also if the budget stretches the 1070 will be a better alternative to the 970 I think it is about £100 more expensive. I am wondering whether for myself a GPU upgrade or a new CPU/mobo/RAM combo will be best. I have a hankering for a 1080GTX as they have come down in price a lot since the Ti was announced.
  6. I installed driverpro to find and instal everything I need. Free and effortless
  7. I overall had a very good experience with the update route. No major problems at all. The upshtot for me was I got a lot of space back on my OS SSD for some reason. W10 seems to clean up temp folders much better than W7. It also appears faster. I don't think I deactivated modules though. You know its no longer a free update unless you need the adaptive technologies https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3093433&postcount=8
  8. 1) Nope but you can keep the brake applied to stop your movement. 2) You can land fairly dynamically and pull pitch to flare but it takes control or the VRS will bite or the tail boom will hit first and snap. 3) keep pulling power once your tracking down the runway, careful your rotors don't hit tarmac as the rear lifts first.
  9. I am loving the shake effects now, with the rift and jetseat the additional cabin vibrations really add to the immersion, Thanks BST:)
  10. The Mi-8 is a very challenging bird to fly. As different to the KA-50 flight model wise as the huey is. The autopilot is not an autopilot as such but has assists for pitch roll and yaw. I recommend getting it as it is a fantastic chopper but its difficult to master. There are some videos in my sig might give you an indication of what to expect:) Sniped x2 :p
  11. Since patch 1.13 the tray tool is obsolete too. Lots of changes it appears
  12. Great work mates, hope you get the tracks fixed, even without its a cool looking unit. I also have to say the headlights are as good as any I have seen on vehicles in DCSw:thumbup:
  13. 3 months in and all good so far :)
  14. I used the upgrade route with minimum fuss and the benefits of W10 where immediately apparent especially using the rift. everything is way faster in regard to operating system and games I play. It is also still free if you have need of one of the assisted technology. Like bad eyesight;) https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/accessibility/windows10upgrade
  15. The UK has a lot of Norman Churches from the 11th Century, most are very small affairs compared to later medieval churches:)
  16. Windows 10 was the best change for me regarding rift performance. ASW is not supported in W7 I am saving for a CPU and MoBo upgrade and finally be able to have more than 12Gb Ram without robbing a bank :)
  17. Spectre you and I have very similar machines. I think we suffer because of triple channel ram and the old architecture, when I had the rift plugged into my sons more modern i5 4000? series it was very much more smoother.
  18. My take from the livestream is the trains are autogenerated when mission starts. I did some testing in the Caucasus map and they are on a set timetable, the hard part is sussing it out.
  19. It was never my intention to be rude and I apologise if my post was not taken in the spirit it was meant too. However a statement like "thats a deal breaker" was quite strong for a situation that AFAIK has been addressed and clarified in that we are getting collidable trees. I mean even the cacti are collidable in NTTR. Fair enough you have no interest in this map but surely you are interested in the technology that is the building blocks of all the maps due to be released in the future.
  20. Still works for me (the surround sound) and the rift headphones are equal to my sennheisers. The tool lets you choose a profile for all your games and you can assign each profile its own settings, so you can have a lower PD for DCS and a higher one for Elite or Warthunder etc:) I also like the tool swaps between speakers and rift once I start running a VR app
  21. Quit the melodramatics. I am sure the trees will be collidable, but if the team are working hard on optimisation one would imagine the collision lods for trees will be part of the optimisation process. The same as NTTR had the collision model tweaked in later patches. Keep the faith:)
  22. Thanks for the links I will enjoy reading them:)
  23. Hi buddy, this problem may explain the OP problem in this thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=184423
  24. The bonus points are a way of getting a discount on certain modules at certain percentages. Not all products are available with bonus points and never afaik on brand new products especially as there is already a generous discount on the Normandy map and assets bundle. I am quite happy to use bonus points to get a discount on a module I don't own yet. I have 51$ bonus to spend and some point in the future I will use some of it. So not everyone has the same opinion on the bonus system as you
