For those who are having issues have you checked the crash logs? They can be found in your Saved Game folder
-
Thanks for posting this! I'll add it to the main post this weekend!
-
It should work with any DCS aircraft, I'd like to add more callsigns starting with the F/A-18 squadrons. Saved Game would probably need ED to redevelop the system
-
As promised, I've put together a small mod that adds a number of callsigns to DCS. Right now these are focused around the F-14 Tomcat, but I do hope to expand into other Squadrons for the Hornet, Strike Eagle, and other NATO assets. One issue to note with this mod is that it may require reinstillation following DCS updates. Do we have any idea what time the DCS update with the F-14B will occur at? This may have been asked and answered in the release date thread, but theres no way to find it in the 170 pages.

No, they'll be later in the life cycle of the Tomcat. Hopefully we see them somewhere in between the B and A variants.

Improved stability and dedicated server - Discussion
JayBird replied to NineLine's topic in Multiplayer
Completely agree with this here. Also is there information about dedicated servers anywhere? Any companies hosting DCS yet? -

Operation Desert Rat - F/A-18C DCS Campaign
JayBird replied to JayBird's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Today is actually my last day of classes! Hopefully I will be able to put some time in and get this out fairly soon! I appreciate the kind words; the Samuel B. Roberts was active within the CSG as far as my research shows, I tried to add little details like this to those who look for them. Yes, F-14Bs are the accurate model, but currently they are not offered within DCS. This will be remedied once Heatblur drops their bomb. :) Agreed, getting there is half of the fun and you can't do that if the AO is less than 50 miles from the boat. Unfortunately there isn't really a good work around for the ILCS bug. Next mission will be day time so it should be a bit easier to make your way aboard. -
Agreed, his videos are terrible especially for DCS. And yes not watching them is the option but the thought that someone as egotistical as him as the Tomcat before people who've waited for years for it is demoralizing.
-
Pretty certain he said the opposite in we would receive it with ample time prior to release.

Why does the AI insist on using a catapult with a static aircraft blocking its track? Why can the AI taxi through the blast deflector? Is there a way to restrict usage of certain catapults?

Happy 48th Anniversary to our Favorite Plane!

Itll be a nightmare on these forums second clock strikes Spring if it's not out by then... -
They might be relatively flat but modern conflicts have all been fought there with aircraft we have available in DCS, can't say the same for Iran. A Scandinavian/Baltic map would be my number one choice for the next terrain; theres so much that could be done there that could correlate to potential conflicts for the past 80 years.
-
Although I agree with you the region is a total mess and a the Strait's wick is just waiting for a match to light it, The Arabian Sea isn't really all that modelled, nor would a piracy scenario make sense for any aircraft in DCS, maybe the AH-1 when it comes along. Israel nowhere near the map, neither is Yemen. However much I do enjoy the map and the airbases are utilized by US/Coalition forces, the map is somewhat difficult to work up a realistic campaign scenario; with the exception of planning another global conflict, it can be difficult to justify military operations between the US and Iran. I would have much rather have seen the Syria map, or Afghanistan map, or even Iraq as the terrain we received; I know those are all "coming" but I doubt we'll see anything for a number of years. I do still hold out that ED will model the basic areas of Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Southeastern Iraq, and some of Northern Oman, but I fear that will never come about.
-
From what I've read it's very infrequent. Pilots could go their entire career and only fire a single missile if they're lucky.
-
Are they static or actual AI flights?? Did you link them to the carrier?
-
You can place any modules aircraft in the editor whether you own them or not. Can't imagine why it would be any different for the Tomcat.

Thank you for working on the KC-135!
