Ok, I was hoping that ED would be able to get some informations about the MiG-31 from the US government or from whoever spies on the Russians. I mean the US or some of their allies like the Japanese were able to get a few MiGs because of traitors who switched sides. I just was not sure if they also got the MiG-31, too.

Recently I have bombed a runway with a Su-33. Afterwards I tried to land on it and my airplane exploded. The crater is only displayed as a small 2d-texture on the runway, but when I rolled on the bombcrater my plane merged with the ground just before it exploded. This is a screenshot I have made in a slow-motion-replay right before my crash: I know that some bombs only create a small bump on runways which does not destroy them, but in this case my bomb had a big blast. I just do not remember its name any more.

Is there a possibility that we might get the Mig-31 one day?

What is the best way to understand the Russian communications in DCS without having to read the text on the screen?

Hello, I have a huge problem in this mission: The speedboats do not create any white trail behind them, so spotting them gets extremly hard even when I am very close to them. They are only represented as small dark dots in the dark water. I do not know how to change that and I have already seen in a video, that it should be much easier to find these boats than it is in my game. Edit: They might cause a very small white trail, but like you can see here it is still almost impossible to find them:

Is it really worth it? I got DaVinci Resolve for free and it has a lot to offer for my DCS videos.

Achso, das wusste ich gar nicht. :)

-

Now I have tried exactly that for an AI F18-group leader, but it did not work. Its task is also greyed out in the mission editor. I tried the same with a refueling tasked airplane and it worked. So I believe that setting the TACAN in the mission editor is only working, when the missiontype of the group is for refuel supply only.

I am using the steam-version of DCS and my folder C:\Users\Tiramisu\Saved Games\DCS does not contain any livery folder. Any ideas how I can install modded liveries on my PC? Edit: Never mind, I have found it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Bazar\Liveries -
So if you can assign a TACAN number to a group, then it should be possible for the human player to find his closest wingman using TACAN navigation. Right? I just have to find out how to assign TACAN to a group. In the mission editor I could not find any option to do that.
-
-
Can we use this TACAN navigation in singleplayer? I have always problems to find and help my wingman, when he is engaged in a combat. How can you make the AI use a certain TACAN frequency? Btw. I wonder if your TACAN reveals your position for enemy aircrafts.
-
You can change the beta-version in steam. There are several beta-options that also contain older versions.
-
How about trying the Hornet? It does not stall so easily and is very maneuverable, which is pretty good for beginners. Also there are already many good youtube tutorials for this airplane.

I have the same issue. After uninstalling and installing the Su-33 DLC in steam this problem still remained. So my plane is trying to fly upwards and the trims do not work. Edit: Oh, never mind. My problem was simply that I had two assigments for my control-axis like someone else already mentioned in this thread.

My problem is that the first group of MiGs has the same distance to me as the distance between me and the target. So I have to fight the MiGs first, but then I get stuck in a deadly dogfight, while the second enemy group is approaching. The other few fighters of my own side die too, so I cannot rely on them. This mission is way too hard in my opinion. Also the fact that you have to wait five minutes in the beginning after each try makes this even more annoying. The previous missions were much more fun. The last mission however causes lots of frustration. (I have made about 20 unsuccessful tries already.) :(

For me it also stops working sometime. First it was working, but after restarting DCS it was not accepting my head movement any more. My tracking software was on all the time and it could track my movement without any problems. So the problem is caused by DCS itself.

There are many bug reports about the replay function, but I believe nobody mentioned the wrong replay behaviour of missiles, yet. So e.g. during some of the replays my missiles do not hit the enemy, although it actually happened during the real game. Another time I observed during replay that I have crashed after getting hit by an enemy missile, while in the real game this never happened. I am starting to believe that my computer is cheating during replays and claming that it has beaten me, which is a big fat lie. Very unsporting! :dontgetit: DCS Version: 2.5.3.24984

Syrian and Afghan theatre of operations confirmed!
Tiramisu replied to WHOGX5's topic in Bugs and Problems
That is probably the biggest issue, but the problem is also that the detailed part of the map is bounded by a rectangle box. How about if instead some additional smaller rectangles at the edge of map were added so we can get a detailed map of the whole of Israel, while letting the rest of the southern edge of the map be less detailed. -
This is just a small request, but it would be kind of helpful, if the FA-18 pdf-manual would have a second table of contents made of bookmarks. In the Su-33 manual we already have this kind of automatically created content-bookmarks, so it would be nice to have it in the Hornet-manual too.

Ok, I will try it next time this bug occurs. Very annoying though, when I have to fiddle with the radar while in combat.
-
I have a question: Does anybody know why my radar has shifted its center to the left? It is moving left and right, but the center is around something like 40° instead of 0°. I have used the radar in combat and tried to get back into normal mode afterwards, but then it tended to scan the area left of me.
