  1. Always been there if I recall correctly.
  2. 22GB over here. First bought the Thunderbolt and The Channel and WWII assets. :D Will be my first dip into WWII. :joystick:
  3. Well, as soon as it's available for pre-order in my country, I'll be on it for sure. Wouldn't want to wait ages for new batches.
  4. Thanks. Almost time to check out my future headset and throw the old Rift out. :pilotfly:Now, if only Nvidia would hurry up too with their new 30x0 series.
  5. You can turn in-game pilot voice off in VAICOM PRO.
  6. Hold your flightstick with only 2 fingers as soon as you're connected.
  7. It's fine as it is. @Fri13: care to share that background you posted in your menu impression? :)
  8. For those of us who aren't native English speaking and who have trouble getting words recognized, try this: In Windows 10 - Settings - Time & Language - Speech. There you can set the language you speak in (US English in this case), and check the box that says "Recognize non-native accents for this language". In my case I never had to train the engine again.
  9. No, I'm saying you don't need to download the Open Beta (if you'd want OB installed), you can update your Stable install to the Open Beta one with the commands I wrote. If you want Stable as well as Open Beta installed at the same time, you'd need to download Open Beta. :)

  11. Practised CASE I's for about an hour today, and on the last one I finally got a 3 wire, (OK) BC (ball call before 3/4 mile). :D Gotta practise a bit more but I'm starting to build new muscle memory already! :smartass:
  12. I use VAICOM so I can say "hornet ball" when I want. However, the LSO never asks to call the ball? If I say it anyway he does reply.
  13. Open a command prompt (Win+R -> type: cmd -> hit Enter). Navigate to DCS folder (type: cd c:\<path to DCS World>\bin) type: dcs_updater update @openbeta Done.
  14. Yeah I suck big time with the Supercarrier. Could trap fairly well on the Stennis in the FA-18, but now. :joystick:
  15. All I know is the terrain shadows and (normal) shadows eat the FPS. I've turned terrain shadows to off, cockpit illumination turned on, and shadows on low. From the manual: Shadows •Off–Turns off all shadows from all objects. •Flat Only–Only flat shadows on the ground from aircraft/unit are displayed. There are no shadows in the cockpit or on the aircraftelements. •Low–Low quality projection shadows (shadow map) on the ground from the aircraft/unit, in the cockpit and on the elements ofthe aircraft. •Medium–Medium quality projection shadows (shadow map) on the ground from the aircraft/unit, in the cockpit and on the elements of the aircraft. •High–High quality projection shadows (shadow map) on the ground from the aircraft/unit, in the cockpit and on the elements of the aircraft.
  16. Will buy the minute it's released. Mocked up some CASE I's today because I was fiddling with the comms menu. What a pain to use if you're used to VAICOM.
  17. I asked for this some time ago: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=264863 Later in EA we can adjust the brightness of the MAP independent of the symbology.
  18. Just tried it for the first time in VR, no problems regarding FPS. Just discovered how I suck at CASE I landings, although I messed most of them up because of fiddling with the comms, since the VAICOM PRO Realistic ATC isn't released yet and I can't just talk to ATC. :P Other than that, freaking great! Much more immersive, the crew, the comms, the works. Now I can't wait for crew & ATC comms on airfields.
  19. CVN-71 Roosevelt, CVN-72 Lincoln, CVN-73 Washington.
  20. Damn I haven't got the time today to try it. Reading this makes it hard to wait till tomorrow. And, I'm guessing ground crew & tower plus comms would also be a wish for airports, given these positive responses! :)
  21. There are multiple views. Check this vid for a quick overview of the different views. I guess in VR you can walk around at each one of them, because VR. So you can check out more parts of the boat. :)
  22. Haven't had the chance to try the SC myself yet, unfortunately. But according to the manual, you get transported to the LSO station with LALT-F9. I assume it's the same for VR but the nature of VR makes it so you can walk around. Just start walking in the real world. ;)
  23. It does. :) \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Kneeboard\FA-18C_hornet \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Kneeboard\F-14B
