linebacker I have been looking for the same thing. LUA references are easy to find. It's the DCS stuff I need
-
Thanks for the info. I have already read the manual. Compared to the manuals I'm used to reading, its a walk in the park. Anyway, hopefully my next video will show more accurate procedures. I'm really liking this F-5.

In my scenario I have some helos that go from base to base. They make it about halfway through the flight plan before they run out of gas. I don't think they actually re-fuel.

Why are the most unrealistic servers the most popular?
Zeagle replied to Boris's topic in Multiplayer
Actually, this is exactly why I created my own server. I prefer simulation over gaming. Just my opinion. And by gaming I mean the launch-sling missiles-die...crowd. I can't stand that stuff. I prefer to fly with a few buddies, plan out a mission, and execute it. To each his own. As to the OP's question... I suppose in this day of twitch streamers, they want to show how good they are at killing A-10's with F-18's. -
You are welcome to try mine. I have several training aircraft available to fly. I have a training base where you can fly and stay out of combat if you want. And when you are ready, there is plenty of combat to be had. See signature

[16AUG2019] DCS INTERCOMMUNITY EVENT: Real War - Operation White Blade

F-5 Please -
Thank you Mover for this video. Please do some more flight instruction in the F-5 sir.

Well if you run a museum and have to write up a placard describing the plane, then you are correct. But they only have old F-5's to go by. Old means changed. All of them. Anyway, I don't think that they intended the bird to be a specific USN bird.

Flying the F-5E on my first sortie...sort of. The first one where I mean to shoot at bad guys. I still need to RTFM (read the __ manual). So, in this mission I felt more like private SNAFU than anything. But...on to the film Note: No sheep or sheep farmers were injured in the making of this film....at least that anyone can prove...beyond a shadow of a doubt. https://youtu.be/cEMf8RS2biQ

Here is a short simple mission on the server I am a rank newby trainee in the F-5. I still need to RTFM (read the manual). So, this video is not instruction. Rather it is a video of mostly what NOT to do...lol Disclaimer: No sheep or sheep farmers were harmed in the making of this film...that we know of...or at least that anyone can prove. https://youtu.be/cEMf8RS2biQ

Nope. Not really. Also that's not fog. It "crazing". Granted its a bit over done, but it's what happens when little microscopic scratches pretty much cover a windscreen over time. I have seen that in real life when the sun is at the right angle. A good coat of some kind of wax polish (we used pledge...lemon) works great. Edit. And the pledge keeps the bugs off...and smells lemony @need-to-know..... If they did the bug splat thing it would be awesome and realistic. What pilot has not looked at a bug on the windshield and thought it was another plane? But then there would be such moaning and gnashing of teeth from the gamers....then there would be a clean windshield mod....and so on.
-
Well I wrote a lot, but deleted it. You would be hard pressed to find any two airplanes exactly alike unless you got them right off the production line. It would also be hard to get drawings that match up to the hardware you are looking at. I think they did a good job on the F-5E. I also think that if it represents a range of aircraft rather than one single type, they should have an option for air refueling.

Here is a video talking about the Eagles Nest server and the philosophy behind it. https://youtu.be/Eqn0G56mHA8 All are welcome to fly. Requirements: DCS World OpenBeta (latest) Optional: SRS (latest, auto connect) Discord (see signature)

The F-5N would be great for modern ACM training. But the F-5A would be good for the historical stuff. How about some Skoshi Tigers.... And I would definitely buy an F-20. I went through college with a poster of that bird on the wall.

Su-25T vibrations on the ground and seemingly weak nose gear...
Zeagle replied to umkhunto's topic in Su-25 for DCS World
Well you are welcome anytime my friend. Actually anyone here is. I have had at most 3 or 4 pilots on at any given time. Mostly just 1...me. I really like working on the mission editor and may even jump into LUA programming later. The scenario on the server was actually designed for me to practice air-to-ground missions. You can fly on there without communication. And you can just train on there as well. Currently I am trying to get the dynamic weather to do what I want. -

bbrz you don't know what you're missing man. You can come fly with me on my server. MP is amazing. I don't fly the Su-25 much nowadays. I'm training myself on the F-5 in preparation for the F-16. But I will fly the Su-25 in some coop missions. I love that plane. -
After watching Shiftie's video on editing the dynamic weather file, I guess this is a non issue for me. I have been successful at creating some pretty good dynamic weather using the techniques he described. However, I still don't know how to create thunderstorms or solid overcast in dynamic weather.

Su-25T vibrations on the ground and seemingly weak nose gear...

Zukhov...The Russian fields are known for broken concrete due to the extreme weather. Did you try it on say Nevada or Persian Gulf maps....Maybe it's smoother over there on those. your car instruments are more dampened and less sensitive than those airplane gauges by the way. It doesn't matter in 3d how you create an effect as long as it looks real. The reflection texture looks very real to me. -
They don't have to be light sources. Brightness is determined by whatever illumination is affecting the textured surface and the color values of the texture itself. So, they can brighten up the illumination and increase the contrast on the textures.

All the night lighting is too dim. The cities are way too muted too.

I don't know if this should be posted in this section. So please move it if need be. When running a multiplayer mission, if I have the weather set to static, then after a player changes aircraft or makes a few external view changes, the clouds disappear. This doesn't happen with dynamic weather. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get any decent cloud cover in dynamic weather without also getting ridiculous winds. The static weather works pretty well if we could just stop the clouds disappearing on external view.

That's not a beacon. That's a VORTAC. Beacons are non-directional. Typically a beacon is nothing more than an AM transmitter broadcasting an ID code. BUT, you can use ANY AM station as a beacon. And you can listen to the broadcast as well on an ADF receiver. I believe DCS models this too. The mission creator has to have a .wav file being played over the frequency.

Getting a good start and tips regarding PC specs?

What possessed you to go and start squeezing buttons on the stick? Did you yank on the eject handles too? -
Su-25T vibrations on the ground and seemingly weak nose gear...

I disagree. Looks just fine to me. Go fly a shaky plane and try to focus on a needle. Reflections are spot on. Look at the pilot. He shakes too in the video...lol And do you hear all the noise when the nose gear touches down? I think Ed should make it rougher.
