  1. I don't need to trim the F-16 with my setup. Maybe some people are getting an offset due their controller. And that link posted by mvsgas had nothing to do with the question.

In my scenario we start cold and dark. It is on Caucasus.

Can someone clue me in to the proper AR sequence on the F-16? Every time I hook up to the tanker I immediately get the "refueling complete" message. I have tried with and without drop tanks. Refuel door is open. I must be missing something.
  4. They called it "Viper" after the Battlestar Galactica Colonial Viper. It wasn't named after a snake (ref the thumbnail in DCS) Waggs keep up the good work
  5. OP...you never powered out or rolled the bird.
  6. MAGVAR is already there. Skyvector doesn't qualify as a reliable source in my opinion for that area or any area. Get your charts from the govt. agencies that make them.
  7. I'm loving the F-16. But it's parked until the next update.
  8. I guess they would rather give early access to air-quake youtube streamers. Too bad. this one is on the shelf until they get it mission ready anyway.
  9. Maybe I have a setting wrong somewhere, but the F-16 is being recognized by SRS 1.6.2 as an FC-3 aircraft. Am I missing some setting somewhere or is this accurate?

  14. Thanks guys. Yeah I spent my entire career flying planes and buried in paper charts. This was before everyone had a tablet velcro'd to their yoke. Anyway, in the Harrier at least its a non-issue I think. My EHSD gives me a GPS coordinate and the deviation on the first screen. If ED modeled magnetic variation from real world charts then that's great to know.
  15. I love the way she flies. I know she will get better with each update
  16. What is the proper way to determine magnetic variation (for setting the INS system) inside DCS?
  17. All aircraft are sensitive to crosswinds on approach. Use the rudder and increase your approach speed appropriately. And no, the gear should not "put you straight". You have to fly the bird.
  18. First flight was amazing. I felt right at home in that cockpit. I really love the way she flies. Well done ED ! Thank you for an amazing bird.
  19. All our aircraft are cold start. I skip some of the checks as we do not have failures on right now. But I think failures on might be an option for the future as the squadron trains up. It adds immersion in my view. I like that such things are modeled.
  20. I was in Kissimmee when Mark Timken was running the restoration of White 1. I got to see all the work and climb into the cockpit of a 190A-3 they had just restored. What a special aircraft the 190 is. I hope they get White 1 back into the air where she belongs.
  21. Check us out on the Eagles Nest server. I have a new Caucasus scenario up. We sometimes have 5 or 6 working together on coop missions. I don't currently have the Mirage 2000 in the scenario, but I can add it. The F-5 is there. We use SRS for voice. The Eagles Nest presents Operation Joint Resolve Join the Discord (https://discord.gg/38fvxZ7 ) to find login information. The Eagles Nest server is a 24/7 dedicated DCS server running the latest Open Beta along with SRS, TACVIEW, and LotATC. The Eagles Nest DCS Server is for those who would like to fly in realistic manner yet do so in a more relaxed atmosphere. There are no ranks. The leader of any given flight is in charge of that flight. We try to use real world procedures as long as they don't interfere with having fun. Server scenarios are under continuous development on all DCS maps. The Eagles Nest server is an advanced flying environment. Aircrews are expected to know how to use their equipment and aircraft. There are no scripted missions. Aircrews must plan and execute their own missions including entering of coordinate data for waypoints and targets. Use of real world radio and flight procedures is highly recommended. READ THE BRIEFING MATERIALS EN_CAUC_joint_resolve.pdf
  23. I too recently discovered the Harrier. Now I don't want to fly anything else...
  24. Rusty make sure your aircraft is powered up and the in-cockpit volume is up. Also make sure you have selected the correct radio. Which aircraft are you flying? Some act differently than others.
  25. Nvidia 1070ti, latest drivers, no problema. That stuttering or choppiness with a good frame rate is probably Windows doing something behind the scenes. At least that was the case for me not too long ago. Also, I get better performance out my Nvidia cards when I select "use my settings..quality" in the Nvidia settings app. My DCS settings are at the "high" setting. And I use Vsync because it's smoother.
