[19JUL2019] DCS INTERCOMMUNITY EVENT: Real War - Operation Black Cobra
Zeagle replied to Satarosa's topic in Community News
Sorry guys but I was interrupted by visitors. My Su-25 developed an engine fire. I diverted, but crashed while landing with full ord and full fuel. Basically I missed the entire battle My apologies. Thank you Satarosa for all your hard work on the mission. -

[Request] Reduce/change cockpit shaking
Zeagle replied to Pocket Sized's topic in Su-25 for DCS World
The shaking is realistic. And when a plane shakes you cannot read the instruments very well in real life. -

[21JUN2019] DCS INTERCOMMUNITY EVENT: Real War - Operation Hammer Storm
Zeagle replied to Satarosa's topic in Community News
I know I should have chosen the 29 S. But I love the A. Hopefully I can survive in the modern battlefield. -
Nice to know! I do have a MiG-29 manual on the way. Thanks for the information on the lights

I bet not too many around here remember the C-141 Star Lizard....er Star Lifter Wake turbulence extends many miles back and descends usually at about 2000fpm. I have hit turbulence from other aircraft miles up the road. I believe I have encountered the effect in the DCS Su-33 while refueling, unless it was my imagination. But the effect seemed rather minor. Just a light yaw or roll. Annoyance really.

Question about future fulcrums in DCS
Zeagle replied to TaxDollarsAtWork's topic in MiG-29 for DCS World
Actually in the FC3 group, the Russian birds are very well done both visually and flight model. I have heard others call them "low fidelity". I respectfully disagree. The clickable cockpit is not what its all made up to be in my opinion...and I have many other modules. I wish I had my money back on a few of them too. I really wish that ED could find some way to maybe get us a MiG-29 K or KUB. -

Good to see you Falcon my friend! MiG-29A Zeagle -
Well done. Please work on the ATC and ground crew at land bases as well

Yes she is a stable design if you put the CG where we would if flying an RC model. But Mikoyan incorporated a pitch dampening system to counter the unstable pitch axis. The twin tails help her stay more stable in yaw. She didn't get FBW until the M model. And by the way, I am still learning how to land this bird. I sometimes land harder than expected. It's a challenge. But when you get it right, it's nice.

Does anyone know if the MiG-29 gear door landing lights are supposed to be aimed to one side like in this image? I would think they would be straight ahead. Latest Open Beta

Did you by any chance notice a scraping sound when you took off? Sounds like you may have damaged the burners.

I recently went from an X-52 stick to an X-56. My MiG-29 flies a lot better....Also I run 10% curvature and a dead zone of 2. Make sure your stick is properly setup and calibrated before even starting DCS. As far as the "twitchy" thing goes, you can trim her out just fine. The MiG-29 does not have an FBW system like modern fighters. It's a hybrid. And its unstable. So you have to always fly her. Having said that I can trim her hands off no problem with the new stick. If you are bouncing you are landing with too much vertical rate. Try to keep her below 10 degs nose up and about 5 or so meters per second. She can make some really nice landings.

I got mine yesterday. It was stiff at first. but after a few flights it loosened a bit.

I have an X56 and I love it. I too had the ghost button presses but solved that by using a powered hub. After a computer restart, my X56 would appear (green icon) to be programmed. But the buttons were not generating the programmed (or any) key presses. Also the SW1-SW6 switches were a yellow color after reboot. I solved that by re-plugging the unit in to the pc. So by using a powered hub with power switches on each port, I solved my issues. I can turn off the sticks for reboot and power them up after windows loads. No issues. Also, I downloaded and ran the "clear-calibration' software from Logitech. I followed the directions to properly calibrate the unit. This will also clear your in-game DCS control settings. I prefer to just program everything with the Logitech software anyway as it's more flexible. Anyway, maybe this will help somebody. I think I have mine all sorted now. We will see how long she stands up to DCS flying.

Which is itself armored

I would say if you are having trouble with the MiG-29, make sure your stick is working correctly and the curves are set appropriately. I run about 10% curvature on the flight controls. Also, what Steinsch said above....land about 280, low rate of descent, and about 10 deg nose up. If you blackout on touch down or blow a tire, then you landed too hard. Personally I like the new flight model. ED please make these Russian birds into full modules.

Are there any plans to allow DCS to use multiple cores?
Zeagle replied to MobiSev's topic in DCS Core Wish List
My 8 core machine appears to be lightly but evenly loaded. And the video card is probably doing most if not all of the simulation math. I am sure it's very complicated and not as simple as one would assume. -
yes. Typically the updates come out for open beta. Later, they are moved to stable when performance is deemed reliable enough.
