Same here... Tried both: Rift & Pimax 5K Clouds, trails and even static objects on the ground disappear in the left eye. Furthermore I have noticed a significant drop of FPS in VR! Pretty annoying.

Hello mibo.... Sensoryx gloves work perfectly with DCS! The only thing that sucks with it is that you have to run the steam version. Cheers, ROB

Thanks a lot guys! You really saved my day! ;-) Cheers!

Wow, that is really nice! Thank's so much for making it possible! But there's one question that I have: How do I install the mod correctly? I saved in the path G/DCS openbeta/MODS... But at no avail. No structures show up in the ME. Could anyone provide me the correct installation path? Thanks in advance and kindest regards!

Hey guys! Just found out that DCS with the new PiTool .180 beta release is almost unplayable. I am used to something around 45FPS with .144 beta to which I returned. Anybody else with similar experience? Cheers!
-
No, it doesn't!!! Just use the "SAVE" option in Pitool... It'd be better to go through the new version closely before posting such confusing things! Cheers

VR and helmets work perfectly... Well, as long as it is a Pimax and a SPH-4 series bonedome. New level of immersion  And no adaption is needed when using this awesome adapter which connects your helmet to the USB port. Cheers

Oh doch!

Heya all. New PiTool 1.0.1.129 Beta Test Release just showed up. According to Pimax it should fix the ineffectiveness of smart smoothing on N cards among other things. https://forum.pimaxvr.com/t/pitool-1-0-1-129-beta-test-release-for-brainwarp-1-0/19564 Curious about the effectiveness. Btw: With my current settings I'm able to get steady 34-36 FPS when playing on the AO server and more when flying offline! Enjoyable!!! Cheers

Hey all, almost everything relevant has been said. But after all it's nothing else than a very subjective point of view and not that much a technical side. I've been a Rift users for many years thinking that the Rift (in matters of reliability and stabilty) was hard to humble on DCS. That went well unless I had my hands on the Pimax 5K. But when it comes down to immersion and impression, the Pimax is just not beaten (yet). Trip, you mentioned you were using a motion plattform. So I guess you are really into it. And here's the point: Together with your motion system the Pimax 5Ks large FOV is just a BOOST!!! The immersion is just impressive! Not having to turn your head during a close formation to snap a view on your neighbour, peeking at him on your peripherical view is just so close to realism! To be honest: It is a love/hate relationship that I have to my Pimax 5K. It took quite some time to figure out the best settings in all aspects to receive a satisfactional result... Time consuming, backdrafts,... But once working with a good result: AWESOME! We had the Pimax 5K running on my Huey Sim on a trade fair last month for almost 10hrs daily and had no issues at all (well, after struggeling with the correct settings (again)) and it was absolutely reliable and we had a steady 39-46 FPS (!). So unless you really want to spent 5000,- (+) on another excellent professional HMD, the Pimax is definitely the thing to go with, especially when you are into immersion and experience. One little remark: In my opinion the bitching on Pimax distorts the faccts! It is just like in real life: People like to complain in open forums but rarely and more seldom you will read something when someone is really satisfied with a product and service. I'm looking forward to you experience report with your new HMD which is not a bad choice at all. Cheers

Cheers!

VR Gloves in DCS! - Attention Eagle Dynamics!
EvilBert VR replied to lasvideo's topic in Virtual Reality
Hi cordite, So far I had no time to manage designing an adapter plate in 3D to which I would mount the VRFree sensor onto my Pimax 5K. But it is on my to-do list. Well, my use of the gloves is slightly different. I am solely flying in a complete 1:1 Huey sim pit with all the controls and consoles at their correct places. So I need to activate the switches "in reality" and not "virtually". My problem was that it was quite difficult to activate the propper switches with the VR goggles on and not beeing able to see where the hand is actually wandering to. So my main goal is to make my hands visible in the VR environment and to allign the VR cockpit with the real world setup. But I will try and see if the switches will be activated in the VR world by "virtually" touching them. I will keep you updated. Cheers -
VR Gloves in DCS! - Attention Eagle Dynamics!
EvilBert VR replied to lasvideo's topic in Virtual Reality
Hey Harlikwin, yes! You see your virtual hands floating around in the cockpit. Even the finger movement is transfered 1:1 into your virtual hands. Now what I'm planning to do is the following: Since I'm building the UH-1 SimPit, all of the panels and switches are physically there and will be connected via boards with the sim. So when flipping a switch in the VR world, the VRFree hand moves to where it has to and is touching the equivalent thing in the real world. I hope that will move a lot of things onto a new level. I'll keep you guys updated... Cheers -
VR Gloves in DCS! - Attention Eagle Dynamics!
EvilBert VR replied to lasvideo's topic in Virtual Reality
Update Hallo everyone, Sensoryx has published a patch that implements the VRFree gloves in SteamVR as controllers. :-D A first test showed me that they were recognized. They were even visible in the Huey cockpit. I was wondering why they didn't move as desired when I found that I hadn't calibrated them since the first use. So I will take some time the following days to redo and to post some info on my impression. Cheers -
Hummel Hummel Boris ;) Did you clean the shader cache before starting DCS? And what are your settings in Pitool? Somehow it runs pretty smooth on my machine but I had the strange experience that when kicking in the AB on the Tomcat, the picture almost got stuck... After turning the afterburner off again, everything went fluent again. A restart of my computer solved the problem. Cheers

Latest version of Steam VR Beta 1.3.15 crashes a lot with DCS
EvilBert VR replied to DutchCoolHand's topic in Virtual Reality
Yes, I'm using Steam VR for the Pimax. No issues so far. -
Hey lads, I had the feeling that after updating the latest DCS OB, my system somehow tended to step on the brakes. Flying online with the F-14 was like a picture frame show and absolutely not playable. THEN: I discovered the latest Nvidia driver 419.35. Installed it and with some tweaking done :TA-DAA!!! Even on a high frequented server the 'Cat runs smooth and comfortable. I highly recommend everybody to update the driver. It worked for me! Cheers

Latest version of Steam VR Beta 1.3.15 crashes a lot with DCS
EvilBert VR replied to DutchCoolHand's topic in Virtual Reality
Hey Dutch, never experienced this so far. Have you downloaded the latest NVIDIA driver? I updated to 419.35 and everything is running smooth. Oh, I'm a Pimax user. Perhaps it has something to do with this?!? Cheers
